It happens every now and then, but then gets beaten by mods' baseball bat and swept under a rug.

Behind the scenes it happens A LOT, they find new ways to get around the spam filters. We get double figures every day that are removed before anyone even sees them but there are a handful that not only evade the filter to register but then manage to get through the other filtering methods to actually post.

It happens. I've deleted at least 75 threads and users that were spam/spam bots. Just report it and we'll take care of it.

Why can't thread creators edit or delete tags added by others ?

Not really looked into the privileges of the new Tag options on threads, I thought it was just thread creators and staff that could add them personally.

Most tags are added to aid search engines ability to index pages and threads rather than to specifically find them on the forums themselves. Used the feature a lot with vbulletin and read a lot about Search Engine Optimisation back then but haven't really looked into its more recent addition on Xenforo & if anything has been expanded upon since then.
