- You mean have we ever thought about abandoning the forums? If so then no we haven't.
- I don't actually play DMC myself.
- You mean the first game we ever played in general? Or the first DMC game we played?

1. The Dawn of Time
2. I haven't taken breaks with no set date to return, but I never wanted to abandon ship completely.
3. Devil May Cry 3
4. The original one. I saw a preview for DMC3 in a magazine and thought it sounded fun, so I went back to play the original while waiting for the new one.

1) When Steve created it back in 2006.

2) Nope, don't think so.

3) DMC 1 is my favourite.

4) I actually played DMC 3: Special Edition first. I thought it was awesome, so I decided to get the first and the second one.

Framerate is how slow or fast images appear to be moving right ?
30fps This:

QkTq6Vb.gif
So the higher the frames the faster & smoother it appears an image is moving, 60fps.
We'd see the image hit every point in movement like this:

f8CombZ.gif

Now anything higher then 60fps means an image would be moving so fast that it would look as if it was skipping over points across a screen instead of moving through each point of movement.

Right ????

It's not as straight forward as that, PC gamers see 60FPS as the basic benchmark and most games run higher than that with the right hardware. More console games run at 30FPS than 60 and they aren't exactly slideshows and the games that run at 100FPS etc don't look like that bottom clip. Some games actually feel weird at 60FPS depending on genre but games like first person shooters should be aiming for 60FPS. Also frames per second fluctuate all the time and anyone who uses fraps or programs like it will tell you every game has a fluctuating frame rate that you don't really notice unless it dips from very high to very low in an instance.

Some more details here.

So it's pretty much what i was saying.
I'm not asking about console vs pc, a particular game vs particular game, fluctuations or who uses what program or what it takes to get something to run at a certain framerate.

Just how each framerate would appear in movement speed.
Higher framerate means a smoother faster movement then a lower framerate.

Like here.
The 30fps you can see the scenery doesn't glide across the screen as the 60fps does.

I know you weren't asking that however it's not as cut and dry as that and helps to understand when you look at pros and cons and how it works. In the example you gave with it being a racing game (that should be 60FPS) then yeah of course 30 & 60 made a big difference.

The reason people mention PC & console differing isn't directly due to the vast power difference as such but how far you are away from the screen to notice FPS more on a PC. Hence the reason most games aim for higher FPS on PC, not simply because it's easier due to vastly more powerful hardware but you are closer to screen to be more aware of it.

If you want to talk about it in its most basic form & what frames per second means then it consists of the number of complete scans of the display screen that occur each second. This is the number of times the image on the screen is refreshed each second, or the rate at which an imaging device produces unique sequential images.

However there is far more to FPS than its basic form. As some movies people have said have looked odd being filmed at higher FPS (The Hobbit). Also in some games this can appear smoother to the eye as the display is being refreshed at a faster rate. Games that are fast paced such as racing games and first person shooters vastly benefit from higher FPS. However it's not always as clear cut as simply "looking smoother" in every title & instance. It can depend on genre or type of game as it's possible that it can simply look odd & not a clear case of "running smoother" or "faster movement" at higher frames as the action just wouldnt keep up with the frames & would have input lag between FPS & controllers etc.

What happen to the thread creator ribbon ?????
That was very helpful in identifying who originally created the thread especially when jumping in towards the thread's end pages back & maybe wanting to ask them something directly without having to flip back to the start.
Or having to see "This is for the OP" all over in messages.

The thread creator ribbon actually cleaned that up as well as make the forum seemed a little more sophisticated, organized.

No idea, wasn't aware it was gone. Best to ask Steve about that one.

Lack of edit? I'm not following you buddy. Is there an issue for you with editing on your mobile?

Yeah I reported this a while back. The edit toolbar (you know, the one with the emoticons, the save draft function, bold, italic, underline, alignment, post images, videos...) is not in the quick reply box on mobile, nor in the full reply box, they're completely empty. The only way I can apply those functions is through HTML code, but it's so annoying having to do so, especially on the phone.

And the Save Draft function, there's no way I can use that even with HTML, it's a shame cause that function is really useful.

@Foxtrot94: Oh, now I'm following you! Yeah, I see all of what you just said. I'm always using my phone to access the forums, and just thought I'd somehow disabled the box or something by mistake and never bothered mentioning it. As someone who practically relies on their phone to post etc., I can see the amount of hassle not having these tools readily accessible could cause, and how frustrating and more difficult it is having to rely on HTML coding.

This is how the quick reply looks from my phone.
