    @Ash I wouldn't mind a female hive-mind if there was one talented person among them. Some of my favorite games were developed by female-dominated teams...the difference is that what they made was actually GOOD.

    EA's Star Wars Battlefront is $4 on Xbox Live, and STILL not worth touching with a 90-ft pole.

    @Wuodan Just some more good news from the EA front: Remember Visceral Studios, that dev behind Dante's Inferno who was making the open-world Star Wars game? They've been shut down and fired, as of this morning.

    People go on about how 2016 was a disappointing year for gaming--but it wasn't for me. Maybe because I didn't put faith in the wrong games.

    The gameplay mechanics of Inshin was based on the foundation set down by Kenzan, as well as quests that carry over and a number of other things. I guess SEGA assumed that releasing Inshin in the West without its prior game would seem a bit bizarre.

    So it's not connected by the story itself, just some throwbacks and having swordfocused combat?
    Since there were no guns in Kenzan at all, I probably should look the historical figures up on which the protagonists are based on, putting that on my to do list for tomorrow

    @ErianMortal In Kenzan, the setting is 1600's Edo, with Kazuma's ancestor wandering from town to town under the alias of Miyamoto Musashi, an attempt by the developers to link Kazuma to the historical figure. Inshin is set in the 1800's, where the protagonist is another ancestor who functions as a Shinsengumi, or elite guardsman and law-enforcer of the Shogun.

    ...and C) The entry literally amounted to E V E R Y T H I N G that I wouldn't want from the franchise as a whole. TFA had absolutely no redeeming qualities, and considering those qualities were praised to oblivion on release, REWARDING the filmmakers incompetence, they have absolutely zero incentive to improve, and will just deliver what garnered them $$ and praise in the first place.

    I'll always give things a chance, but not this time. Not for a trilogy heading in the worst direction imaginable, spearheaded by a literal waste of trilogy space like TFA, and with it being bookended by a creatively-bankrupt baboon like J.J. Abrams. No thank you, and no way. All the talent and creativity is with the Rebels Animation Team, so that's where my time and money will go.

    Today is the 35th Anniversary of Macross, so I'm going to marathon the movies today after law school.

    It's not legally available in mine, either, thanks to its deplorable and widely-despised Western License-holder, Harmony Gold. If you want to check it out, I'd stream it via an online site like KissAnime, or 9Anime. If you want tips on where to start, let me know.

    So, Thor Ragnorok is supposedly going to be the filmic realization of Jack Kirby's vision. He had a CRAZY imagination, so I hope it's true.

    I hope so. Next to Daredevil and the Punisher, he's my favorite thing about the MCU. And the way he was slapped to the side as a B-Plot character in Age of Ultron was downright disgusting...especially in favor of inexplicably shifting the tone to an abysmal romance between Hulk and Black Widow.

    Neither the new Batman nor Joker movie will be part of the DCEU, meaning that Jared Leto & Margo Robbie will be nowhere to be found. GOOD.

    Of course, with how spectacularly-bad her and the Joker's execution was, I'd almost rather not see anymore in the DCEU. As for Leto's Joker...ugh. His style is atrocious and off-putting, and his acting is hammy and forced to the point where it makes him hard to watch.
