  • Oh. My. God. We're FINALLY getting a Blu-Ray release for Record of Lodoss War...and one that's affordable. Someone pinch me, I'm dreaming...

Ian McKellen: "My friend [Richard Harris] played Dumbledore, the wizard..." (pauses, winks) "...I played the REAL wizard, though." OH, SNAP!
From early reviews, it looks like that new King Arthur movie is as Godawful as I said it was going to be. But hey, who listens to the wolf?

I caught a glimpse of the trailer earlier and thought "eh".

That sucks. I was really looking forward to this film too. I'll still watch it since I usually judge films for myself and not what others say.

@LordOfDarkness You took it a lot calmer than I did. As an Arthurian enthusiast, I practically puked my vitals out on the first trailer months ago.
Dave Filoni confirmed that he's going to be involved in future animated Star Wars projects after Rebels. That makes me incredibly happy.

I read some interviews he did with IGN, the enthusiasm just comes off the page.

He and the other members of the Clone Wars/Rebels Production Team understand Star Wars better than anyone else at Lucasfilm (seriously, just YouTube some of Filoni's interviews w/ theForce.net sometime, he really has passion for the SW universe). The more opportunities they get to contribute to the franchise, the better.
Sat down and successfully wrote for the first time in weeks. I wouldn't trade the bliss of that feeling for anything, not even video games.

I did the same not long ago. Finally got to the scene I'd been planning for months, the main character being outed as a murderer in front of everybody.

Good job bud. I wrote a sloppy poem a few weeks ago and it felt awesome
Mark Hamill compared The Force Awakens to a Michael Bay Transformers movie. The sad thing is, he isn't wrong at all.

Maybe if the film offered more on its own merits, the nostalgia argument wouldn't be brought up so often.

I still enjoyed the film regardless. But maybe that's because I'm not a huge star wars fan since Revenge of the Sith.

Good for you if you enjoyed it. I'm someone whose love of Star Wars stretches beyond the films, into the deeper lore explored in comic, novel, TV show, and video game form. And all the creativity and rich mythology of that now-defunct Expanded Universe is barely seen in this new batch of mediocre Star Wars material under Disney's reign.
After backbreaking years of college I've finally been accepted into Law School! The "Mission Accomplished" Song from Star Fox comes to mind.
CD Projekt's trademark of the word "Cyberpunk" is about as vapid & pretentious as it gets. That's a term describing an entire genre, morons.

And if they're lying they have nothing to gain, they'll be called out and will likely suffer from legal issues as a result.

Nothing evil about it, just very self-absorbed and paranoid of competition. This is done primarily to affect things like advertising and consumer awareness. It's like when KOEI Tecmo was going to trademark the term "Warring States" just to damage any competitive reach Capcom's Sengoku Basara series would've had, before they were dropped the copyright attempt. But at least THEY had the good sense to drop it.

"The new Ghost in the Shell is purdy, but with a boring story & flat overly-philosophical characters." So...Ghost in the Shell, basically?

I'm a fan of older anime, but GitS was always an exception. For one, it never had one true adaptation, since both the '95 movie and SAC series took themselves far more seriously than the actual manga, which is far goofier and more akin to Masamune Shirowe's other works.

Don't get me wrong: I love Masamune's artwork, the style and aesthetic of GitS's technology, and all of the voice talent of the SAC series, like Richard Epcar and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (both of which I've had the pleasure of meeting). But most of it comes off as a poor man's Blade Runner, with the few original elements it does have being flat, existential tedium standing in for an actual story and characters.

@Teal because people know who Batman and Superman are. GITS isn't as big as it use to be back in the early 2000's. And even then, Major Kusanagi wasn't much of a household name then either. That and the movie was bad on its own.

Well the countdown link comes from the achievements from an 8bit version of Bayonetta on Steam, so maybe Bayonetta gets a PC port perhaps?
    DreadnoughtDT
    DreadnoughtDT
That seems a bit mundane for a countdown...
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
Meh. You can get Bayonetta on 360 or Wii U and get the same 60fps experience, so a PC port would probably do nothing for people that are already fans. The only version of the game to avoid is the PS3 one, because of the framerate problems that plague most PS3 ports.
So everybody hates the new Power Rangers movie except for...who else? The Series' fans... in other words, the only authority that matters.

@Sparda's rejected son That honestly sounds like an amazing premise. I haven't seen the movie yet, but a friend is indoctrinating me all through Seasons 1-4, and I'm enjoying it so far. It's no GARO, but its age certainly adds to the charm of it. I really want to see what the movie does with all these characters.

Used to love Power Rangers and I'm very excited to see the new movie. The only Power Rangers that I'm familiar with are the originals, Zeo and Turbo. I don't really recall the others.

GARO is PR's nudity, gore showing awesome cousin. I gotta c Zero Blood... Anyway yes, 2017 PR is indeed Breakfast Club meets Pasific Rim. It shows the teens drama, then builds on them learning to like each other. Then! Then, my friends they Morph n giant robots vs monsters ensues. I know more about movie Billy than TV Billy. (I'm a hardcore fan 2)
"Conan The Barbarian", one of my all-time favorite films, has its 35th Anniversary today. Here's to the undreamed days of high adventure.
