Margot Robbie is currently playing queen Elizabeth I. in "Mary Queen of Scots", due to come out in 2018., so she is quite busy anyway (and looking like a nightmare). Don't know about Jared Leto, gossip journalists don't find him so interesting.
Robbie is weapons-grade levels of annoying with her insult to a Boston accent in Suicide Squad, and Leto feels like some cringy, fanfic-esque Hot Topic version of the joker dreamt up by some edgy teenager. You could not convince me that a worse Harley and Joker exist in any adaptation. Their omission is the best thing that could've happened to these smaller movies.
Well to be fair, a totally wrong interpretation of an accent could be seen from miles away when one hires an Australian to play an American. Kinda balances out with all the faux British and probably some other accents Americans did for decades.
Did you hear? After Suicide Squad 2 they plan to start making yet another movie about Joker together with Harley, a criminal love story starring Jared Leto and Margot Robbie, with a bigger budget than Joker movie, and directed by the two guys who did "Crazy, Stupid, Love". It's why I tell people not to get too attached, life is giving people lemonade, no point in turning it into lemons.
Wait, there making a DCEU Joker & Harley movie, but the Joker Origins movie will be standalone? Jesus Christ, this is going to create a mountain of brand confusion. But a Leto & Robbie romance flick sounds like the living embodiment of my personal hell...so I think I'll just save myself from that and bunker myself in with some DC Animated movies.
Thank god I'm more in the know of the DCEU then most of you. first: the Joker/Harley movie is just Gotham City Sirens. Second; The Batman movie IS in the DCEU as confirmed by Matt Reeves. Third; Jared Leto is STILL gonna be Joker for GCS and Suicide Squad 2. Fourth: the Joker origin film isn't confirmed to be a real thing by WB.
@DragonMaster2010 Given how Matt Reeves literally made the clarification well after I made this post, I wouldn't say you're "more in the know" than the rest of us following articles that themselves were revised. But Origin film aside, if the Harley-Joker movie really is just GCS but with the SS casting, that doesn't lessen my intent to avoid it like herpes.
@WolfOD64 The only issue I had with the Joker in SS was that I didn't get enough of that version to rule out whether he really is a bad Joker. As for appearance, I'd say he's not that bad looking. I've seen Joker look worse then this (ripping his own face off to wear as a mask, Batman RIP, Injustice 2, Heath Ledger's look)
As for Harley in SS, I actually really liked her version. It wasn't too over exaggerated, and it reminded me more of the early comic Harley rather then animated series Harley.
@DragonMaster2010 Animated Series is where Harley was even introduced, and not only is the new comic and movie version a wince-inducing, irritating far cry from the character, but I'm also getting a little sick of seeing her everywhere. It's getting obnoxious, especially when there's far better Batman villains to choose from.
