Exodus is an incredible game ,
only flaw is that it isn't a full open world you can explore as much and whenever you like.
They just looked at mobile games, and go like "okay, so I guess they find this acceptable, let's do this as a games as a service model." But the thing is, we don't really have an issue with "Games as a Service," by itself. The problem is that these publishers/developers release barely finished, barely functional, barely playable (cough; 76), and the quality just don't reflect the $60 price tag. I have no problem buying a $60 game, with it being a Games as a Service, just FINISH THE GAME, damnit! This guy said it perfectly in this video...Feels a little bit like Groundhog Day in the gaming industry at the moment with so many companies making the exact same mistakes as each other time after time and no-one learning lessons from other companies failures. Most companies seem happy with games that are simply 'functional' at launch (some barely so) and only interested in making a quick cash cow. Its all very disappointing to see so many games with massive potential simply fall on their faces at launch. Then their publishers who simply dont care so long as they are rinsing their customers for every penny they can before they drop it to move with the next trend...
Why does every game need a "Photo Mode" these days?
Is this some sort of trend I've been missing out on?![]()
