Well it maybe because part of DMC older crowd belong to people who don't play those games? I don't think it necessary to get angry on them because they don't like this kind of things. You know different strokes etc.

I know. But a swear is a swear. We've heard "damn" "crap" "hell" but then we get to the anime and hear "son of a bitch" "sh!t" and "asshole". Are you telling me that the fandom can't handle the F word and say it's too far? We've been slowly accumulating to it.
It's kinda different. For example in Supernatural they throw occasional swear, and you have Breaking Bad where Jessie throws B*tch after each word. They have different vibe, that's all. So if they changed vibe, certain amount of dislike was to be expected. (beside i still think it strange they picked one of the most sweary parts as representative for the game)
Yeah, The Hunter's part should've been in the demo, since it's the least spoiler-y and not bad.
Well this was a different take on Dante. So the hatred/backlash that he swore instead of come up with a witty one liner is a bit silly.
Almost as silly as making a big deal out of why it even matters if he did/didn't swear.

Actually the SPN fandom wouldn't mind swearing. But those television shows have an excuse; they're on television. So they CAN'T swear too hard.

Why are some GROWN-ASS gamers(20 and up) so offended when there is "real" cussing in a DMC game, or in some other rated M games in general? I understand that it'd kinda be effed up if other games like Mario had that, but ON A GAME THAT IS RATED "M"? Are you implying that I run all over the internet attacking anyone who dislikes what I like? Because that's retarded. Because the old fans who feel hard done by feel like Tameem pulled the finger at their moaning. And correct me if I'm wrong but a lot of them felt like the reboot was a big f you to the old fanbase. This should be common knowledge, where have you been hiding?
There are a few f yous that show up in-game as part of the 'city' chasing Dante. And I'm sorry but to be frank, I haven't heard anyone use the term 'what in the ****ty hell is this'. That's just going overboard. There's nothing wrong with 'what the hell is this' but then that would be too close to quoting original Dante for NT, nevermind that it's a cliché and everyone uses it, we'll throw a curse word in there to grind it down.
I mean really, I don't know if anyone else feels as I do, but that line just...nope. it doesn't work. WHY, NT, WHY?!
Oh, and anime Dante didn't go out of his way to swear. He did as an emotional response to something or someone, ie, anger, annoyance, etc. Not just for the hell of it like DmC Dante does.

Sorry DM, but that's kind of a straw-man argument, there. As you can see from the vast majority of the posts, it's not the cursing really that bothered people. Some may have felt it was, others merely used it as an excuse to bash the game. Mostly what people find fault with is the context of the cursing (I'm not saying me, personally; I honestly don't care).
Don't know the first show; love the hell out of Black Lagoon. Pretty much adore Revy and Mr. Chang, and obviously in liking Revy, it would be blatantly hypocritical to be okay with her level of swearing, and not DmC Dante's.
I get the point you're trying to make though--if people love Black Lagoon, or any other show with such levels of vulgarity, how can they complain about the vulgarity in DmC? I get that. Still, it's a straw-man maneuver, given neither that first show, nor Black Lagoon, are the topic of discussion.
