Different Rank Graphics?

That's an interesting idea but I don't think it fits in with DMC so much :\
 
And the rest are saints? :lol:

Just a random thought but what if we also did something with the rep slot? Instead of the boxes we have ranks like at the end of levils?

First being like D last being SSS?
 
They are bland, but they fit in. I do agree and like the idea of having a new looking set of rep pips/bars. It should look good with the new ranks.
 
Fear not! I haven't forgotten about this thread! I'm trying to compile a list of decent rank candidates now and hopefully we can get this new system set up soon. If you have any more suggestions, now's the time to post 'em! ;)
 
can i be honest? right now the rank system sounds like a devil may cry/fullmetal alchemist crossover....lol right? like demons infultraited the amestrix military or something like that. I think the new rank system should be something exclusive to dmc. I like the combo rank system. A Lot!!!!

Okay folks, first off: Sorry for not implementing the new ranks last night. I had to nip out and fix my cousin's computer so that he could play World of Warcraft. ^_^ After that, I kinda got stuck playing Left 4 Dead on my new home theatre system and couldn't tear myself away. My bad! I ended up playing L4D for about 5 hours and didn't finish until 1am. Whoops!

Any who, I'd love to get these ranks sorted today. The only real problem with these ranks is I'm still torn between using typical DMC-esque ranks, such as "Stylish, Smokin', Awesome!", etc, or using more original, descriptive and personal ranks such as "Newb", "Darkslayer", "Trickster", "Devil Hunter", "Legendary Dark Knight", "Son of Sparda". Generally just titles that would fit in with the Devil May Cry series (not entirely sure that "Newb" does...)

I was also considering "Epic Fail" for banned members. Lawl.

Yep, different colour rep bars are definitely do-able. We might even be able to get away with turning the rep system into an "experience points" type bar. Maybe.

I don't think it's possible without modifications/hacks. It'd definitely be quite handy if we had this option though.

I see what you are getting at, but that is just a list of random moves.

It is a style ranking right? It should follow some kind of understandable sequence (ie, least stylish to most ect.)

I think something along these lines would work better.
 
^I agree, but there are going to be ALOT of ranks between NNNNewb! and whatever ends up being the highest ;)

The move names are there as a break inbetween Crazy! and Awesome! although you're applying the attacks and getting a better style rating ^^
 
um can i say something that i said a while ago in this thread but no one cared about :lol: um ,that the admins , super mods and supporters each get a different rank and each rank equals a boss in the dmc series so the admins having the hardest boss while the supporters have a easy boss and the SM's having the middle boss ??
 
^The only problem with that is that Staff Members need to standout amungst the members as Staff...just incase new memebrs have questions etc?
 
Okay, guys, just compiled two quick lists of potential ranks:

  1. SSStylish!!!
  2. SShowtime!!
  3. Smokin'!
  4. Alright!
  5. Brutal!
  6. Carnage!
  7. Deadly!
  8. Extreme!
  9. Far Out!
  10. Groovy!
  11. Hectic!
  12. Intense!
Obviously the above list follows a much closer pattern to the standard DMC4 ranks. We could obviously extend this further along the alphabet if we fancy.

Second list:

  1. son of sparda
  2. legendary dark knight
  3. dark slayer
  4. devil hunter
  5. newb
Not much to it, I know, but that's all I could think of. ^_^ Perhaps if you guys feel this would be a better suited ranking system for the forum then we could look into developing this idea instead.

Lemme know what you think.
 
I'm liking the first list to be honest, the second one just feels far too close to what we already have, except obviously the newb one. :lol:
Still, I'm certainly all far the Style Ranks, it's a nice touch. ^_^

Would the rest of the ranks get a graphical overhaul too? Like the staff member, supporter and admin badges?
