Hack? Probably a stupid question, but why would anyone want to hack a forum? what would they gain from it?

Some people do it merely because they can and for a power trip, some do it to try and cause disruption for rival sites and some are more sinister and do it to access personal information.

I am guessing it was a hack. My browser freaked and Google wouldn't allow access, telling me that the forum was associated with malicious software that had a colourful name indeed.

I had to turn off the option to block harmful sites just to view ANYTHING on here. I really hope Steve or someone can get it fixed as soon as possible. These hacks are starting to get pretty annoying. I think this is the second one this month, right? =/

I have a question for the lovely admins. =)

Some of you guys know I am posting my arts and some of sculptures' step-by-step progress in the DMC fanart/fic forum. I really am seriously looking at making a Nevan sculpture after I finish the Beowulf one. Problem is, if I post any progress pics, she's gonna be naked, or at least she will be until I put her hair on and apply bats or whatever. I know the rules on nudity and porn on the forums, but I would like to ask if posting my progress or sculpture of Nevan will break them. Obviously she won't be a pornographic sculpture but I am worried that if I don't ask what the stance is on this posting pictures may cause alarm, as she will have a nude form before the end.

What should I do? Should I put black boxes over her bits or something like that? Or is it okay to post the progress normally?

I personally feel that since you've justified your means for the purpose in which you are doing this, it should be okay for you to go about doing it. I don't think anyone would mind, not really, we're all mature here to know your intent. Maybe just warn that there will be nudity, and place it in a spoiler tag. When you get to doing the hair, if it bugs you so much that you may cause offence, just remove the previous picture with a good old edit. At the end of the day, if anyone complains, you can't say you didn't warn them. In my opinion, it isn't pornography I feel, it's your art. Your interest is not that it is pornographic, it is to display a character, so I can't see there being problems with letting you do so.

Aye, I thought I should ask directly, though.

To me, being bothered by nudity in art seems daft, if it's 'artistic nudity'. I mean, when learning to draw people you HAVE to study the human form, you can't shy away from it, and when you're doing drawings or sculptures if you want any realism you have to make sure they're anatomically right. No way around it. Otherwise they just look plain weird, and to be honest people notice more when they're 'neutered' than if they weren't.

But, this isn't my personal website, and I feel it's right to ask the admins whether they will allow it or not. If not, I'll respect it.

I was shocked to see that Photobucket and Imageshack had started labelling photos of sculptures without clothes on as flaggable porn. I think that's just crazy, but I guess there are some overly sensitive people out there just dying to hit that flag button.

Good thinking And yeah it is pretty stupid to not study the human form when working on the human form. People have what they have, that's how we are. If drawing it or sculpting it, you have to put it for it to look right. And as well as those people being overly sensitive about it, they're also being rather silly about it too.

On another note, could this Thread be deleted please? I was trying to make an edit that would not work for some reason, and instead it decided to duplicate my Thread >_<

Post it as it should be posted but use spoiler tags to warn of the content. That way no-one can complain about anything.
