Happened upon this $5 XenForo add-on just now: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/bd-push-notification.3047/

I'm going to bookmark it and review it over the weekend. Might maybe be what we're looking for?

I'm going to be totally honest... I have no idea what I just read. If that links means "Hey if someone messages you on DMC.org, you'll get a text like notification on your phone. Regardless if your logged into DMC.org or not."
Then yes. Many times yes! If not then...OK. :bored:

Same. Sorta.

I don't really know what 'push' notifications are. If they are just updates/notifications that display on your phone, that sounds like a silly thing to call them. Like, why wouldn't an app or whatever just say, 'would you like to enable notifications?'. Makes sense to me anyway. I don't know, I'm probably way off the mark with what push notifications are. I've only ever owned one smart phone and it was poopy.

I believe the difference is that regular notifications are normally available within an app & push notifications let the app notify a user of new messages or events even when the user is not actively using the app via status bar on phone. I occasionally get them from Steam App when games in my wishlist are on sale, they pop up like text messages on my phone that are visible even when phone is locked (example below).

Sure thing. I'm currently swamped in Uni junk until tomorrow night, then we're off for a brief holiday until... Saturday, I think? I can better look into it then. Well, probably more like Sunday... I still have a ton of things to catch up on. If you don't hear from me by Monday feel free to give me a nudge. But in a nutshell: If it's a third-party add-on that's safe, affordable and maintained, it's something we can discuss for inclusion in the staff area.

I can be very hands on myself. But that's my vigilante side talking again.

Your idea is a good one, and it's cool that there might be a way in which we can implement that idea.

You keep your hands on your wife! Unless your secretly a chick in which case, hehe well...You know...
Superb! I've got my fingers crossed and the voodoo dolls all pinned up!...

You didn't read that last part.
