“Looks like you’ve got a rep to live up to.” “Looks that way.” (Dante and Trish, after Credo’s final plea)

I don't even know where any of this came from. I post a quote from DMC4, leave, and come back to a full-sprung debate over which Dante was best.
    Foxtrot94
    Foxtrot94
Cause Vergilius took your quote out of the context of that scene and used it to make a comparison. LOD responded, I responded, etc. etc.

Not accusing him, merely clearing your doubt.

Alright, if another semi-argument spurs from one of these posts, I'll just ignore it, and it'll end before the conversation treads harsher waters.
“Nero…Thank You.” (Kyrie, just before dissolving into the cavernous darkness)

Eh. At least we can all agree she's an absolute beast at singing. Dat DMC4 intro, man... my problem was when notes didn't accompany the sound of the words that came out of her mouth.

Gotta check out that song in Japanese, btw.

The song isn't any different in the Japanese dub. I remember how much of an impression it made on me when I first played the game, and it's the very first thing I think of when I ever hear mention of DMC4.
Great. Just GREAT. Sony, in its infinite wisdom, has REMOVED the USB Music Streaming feature for PS4. Thanks for screwing us again, buddy.
“I served the dream you spoke of…but you used my sister, Kyrie, and that’s beyond forgiveness.” (Credo, livid and dying.)

LOL laughable cutscenes my ass. Yeah DMC1 and 2's are pretty anonymous, but DMC3 and 4's are superbly shot, and I genuinely think some movie directors should take some lessons on how it's done.

As for MGS, three thing have always irked me: the frequency, the length and goddamn shaky cam. I hate shaky cam.

It's widely renown that Shimomura's work kicked all kind of ass.
So as someone who has mixed feelings on Nero, I was wondering why you liked him.

Arrogant, cocky, impulsive, sure. Those elements are true to his character and are shown. But when he starts jiving about how "he doesn't tan" or "isn't big on toads", or bends a knee tauntingly to ask "to dance", it comes off as a little contradictory to his character to some degree.
    Foxtrot94

Hm. I don't really agree but, to each his own.

Thanks for the answers. He's not a character I wanted to hate his story but it just felt like an odd shift (like the anime, DmC, and maybe everything since 2). maybe he gets another chance to prove his stuff.
"Isn't that a bit harsh? Killing me because of the way I 't-t-talk'?" Even in Japanese, that line still never ceases to crack me up.

I've heard 5 is bad even by Metal Gear standards (how ever Earth-shatteringly low that standard may be). Even fans are complaining about it.

As for not liking Wesker...well, that's fine. He's a pretty stereotypical villain---I just love how much of an exaggerated ham he is, and how over-the-top his voice actor made him (In essence, he's Dante done correctly). Anyone who likes him for his "depth" or "magnitude as a character" is missing the point of his character.

Yeah, I get what you mean. Even his "seven minutes" line while matrix dodging was done really well.
"You'll come to learn the meaning soon enough. Until then...business beckons." ---Dante, swinging lazily from the Chapel Rafters.

INSTEAD OF PLAYING POOP, YOU SHOULD COME BE A KID OR A SQUID.

Considering it was preceded by "Though I suspect you carry something different from the others" it was probably referring Nero's connection to Sparda. Dante's older and more powerful then Nero, it's possible he could sense the connection and figure it out....Plus the kid looks like him
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
I think Dante recognized him as part of the Sparda Bloodline after Nero's Arm started glowing ("You've got a trick up your sleeve"). That would also explain why he's so reluctant to let Nero keep Yamato with such a reckless, angry attitude...he's probably wary after what happened to Vergil.
My Copy of DMC4: SE just arrived by mail. I haven't been this giddy to play DMC in some time...so expect in-game quotes from me all week.

I'm going in order with Nero/Dante first to get my bearings back...and then I'll do Lady, Trish, then Vergil. And yes, I'll certainly do a review of the game once of I'm done. I've never given my full thoughts on the vanilla game like I did with DMC3, and this the best version of 4 that I'll play.
    Foxtrot94

If you're playing with Nero/Dante... how is it "a blast"? I mean, I get it, it is, but they don't play any different than vanilla. Aren't you used to them?
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
I don't play DMC4 regularly, so the experience doesn't leave me jaded. Also, when the Special Edition was announced before summer, I deliberately swore off from playing my vanilla copy to make my playthrough of SE seem fresh. That aside, the game itself, I noticed, has a number of small but significant changes to some of the in-game mechanics, even for Dante/Nero...I'll go into detail when I review.
Rewatching Bleach for the first time in years. Suddenly, I'm 15 again, and anime is brand new to me. Catastrophic levels of nostalgia.

That's basically the nostalgia trip I get every time I sit down to watch G Gundam and Gundam 00 again.

I never got into Gundam, but it's something I always coveted from afar. I just have no idea which show to start with.
    DreadnoughtDT

If I were you I'd start with Gundam Wing or Gundam 00. They both have the strongest sets of characters. G Gundam is basically if you want Gundam as a super robot show.
So, while Yakuza 6 & 1 HD were announced, I can't celebrate due to no US release date. I did, however, take interest in that "Nioh" trailer.

The last decent anime I caught up on so far was Tokyo Ghoul. Blade and Soul could be worth a watch as well. I wouldn't know however, since I'm not exactly the best person to really judge these things.

Holy crap, certain members are now checking ALL of your profile posts to see if anyone DARES to mock their precious DMC4/MGSV.

    Eff. This.

I welcome the challenge. It's the only entertaining thing to watch when I'm not playing the actual game.
SEGA's teasing a Yakuza announcement at TGS 2015...here's hoping for 1&2 HD that's been exclusive in Japan this whole time :(

I recommend you read Tokyo Vice. It's probably one of the best Yakuza-related books I've ever read. It gets tragic at the end though, so proceed with caution.

After Berserk, NOTHING will be tragic enough for me. But I might check it out.
