Currently shaking my head at an FB conversation. One acquaintance couldn't understand how her hubby and sons find videogames fun, when it results in them being angry most of the time. Tons of other people comment that girls' and boys' brains are wired differently, citing that they like games like Mario-kart only.
So naturally, (aside from pointing out that it's like the yelling-type of therapy) I had to be the only female there saying, "Guess I'm an outlier then, considering I like action games."
Honestly, it boggles my mind that there are still people in this day and age that think gaming is a "boy" thing.

The number of outdated points of view that I sometimes encounter is mind boggling. I've run into people who still look down on them for being "childish" and such.
I am so frustrated I want to cry.

Right? I cannot wrap my head around how gaming--a form of fun and therapy all rolled into one--is somehow laughable compared to any other pastime. I figure what people do when they're not on the clock is no one else's business.
(As long as, you know, they're not doing anything super illegal)

I am disappointed.
It seems overrun with aspiring writers who blackmail people in the "your vote gets mine" style. This principle has only ever worked once (as far as my experience stretches) and that was on fanfiction.net where writers traded reviews with one another. In saying that, they actually READ the work. Not so on Wattpad. Some of the summaries catch my attention but it's like nobody told these writers once you've hooked the reader, you need to keep reeling them in.
