There are other companies besides Marvel and DC like Valiant and Image and other kinds of stories then superheroes you know:cool:. (not aimed at meg but everybody else even me)

But on topic it's a hard pill to swallow even if your looking at it from an objective standpoint like I'm trying to. It stretched the suspension of disbelief too far since why reveal it now and anytime over the past 20 years in story. It's not like there are times when HYDRA leaders thought "you know it be cool if Cap would just blow his cover and save us rather than wait till 2016"

Are we sure Bob (Agent of Hydra) didn't ghostwrite this as revenge for deadpool and cap becoming besties?

On a serious note the idea of his mom being hydra sympathetic is more interesting to me because it feels topical and relevant.

Yea, it's pretty dumb. But I imagine it will be changed up very soon. This won't last.

And see Kids ? this is why you dont read the trainwreck that are comics
I remember having a discussion with my friend about the difference between American and Japanese comic books and the fact that writers and artists can change over the course of the more long running American series
was major turnoff for him, since he was reading the IDW Transformers comic and for the first forty issues there was one writer and artist and he enjoyed it but after that a new team took over and apparently the comic became awful.

Marvel is basically making those that dawn the mask expendable while keeping the suit, title & what that symbolizes.

AND what that symbolizes? They're not even keeping that, apparently, cause last time I checked, Captain America's "suit and title" were not supposed to symbolize a neo Nazi organization.

Yeah this is pretty damn stupid. I don't know what was going on in the head of whoever made this decision. Maybe it won't last and they'll retcon it, or maybe not, but this will remain known in comic book history as one of the most imbecile things ever done. Personally it even beats the female Thor thing for me.

um...he's been dead for a LONG time now. and when they DID bring him back, it was an alternate reality version of him that was a "joke" character who died almost instantly. i doubt marvel wants to bring him back

I dont even feel like staying on topic

Well, I'd suggest that you do stay on-topic. There's not a lot of point in the conversation you're trying to have, it detracts from what's being said here by those talking about Captain America (You know, the subject).

I don't think it's a matter of whether they're gonna retcon this. It's a matter of how. My theory is that HYDRA kidnapped Cap at some point and implanted him with false memories. Dibs. Either that, or they'll go with their typical life-model decoy (this time with improved, Nazi A.I).

And I frown, for Marvel Comics have turned into parasites, capitalizing in the success of the films instead the other way around. Marvel is so caught up in it's blockbuster success that they're completely forgetting the comics came first. Just because they found another area where they could gain money from, it doesn't mean they should totally neglect the comics and use them only as PR stunts.

yeah, but marvel's ALWAYS been like that. even before the MCU. during the raimi films, they gave peter organic web shooters...like the movie. during the x-men film, marvel told grant morrison to give them their black/yellow leather suits...from the movies. hell, gwen stacy is in like 5 books now. and it's because the TASM movies raised her popularity. and NOW marvel is trying to burry any property they don't have the film rights to. that's why cindy moon exists. because marvel originally wanted to replace peter parker with her, because at the time of her creation, marvel studios didn't have the film rights to peter parker. that's why the last fantastic 4 story we'll ever see is secret wars. that's why (and this is a rumor that's been around for a while now, but makes total sense the more you look at the way marvel has been treating the mutants recently) the x-men are going to be placed in their own universe, separate from the main universe...because marvel studios doesn't own the rights to the x-men.

they've always been like that. so, it's nothing new. but i don't think in the movies you'll see cap turn into a hydra agent

No one seriously thinks they will...

... which would make the backlash that much more enjoyable to watch if they ever do.

----

Sure, it's either a clone, or false memories, or he's infiltrating hydra to bring them down from the inside... but this reaction is just too good to miss out on.

It's better than TGS2010 and Last Judgement combined. :D

Yeah I know what you mean by saying that the PEOPLE under the mask are expendable and I'm inclined to agree. I'm addressing what the title REPRESENTS, as you put it. What I'm saying is you should have put what the "title and suit" represent in the list of the things that are expendable as well. Because Captain America is... uhm... WAS a symbol. Of all the (stereotypical, but still) good American values. But the moment you turn him into a Hydra agent, you throw that completely out the window.

So what I'm saying is that while I agree with what you intend to say, the correctly worded version of your statement would be like, and I paraphrase your own words modifying them accordingly, "Marvel is making those under the mask AND what it symbolizes expendable while keeping the title and the suit", removing "what the title and suit REPRESENT" from the list of things they're keeping, cause as I explained above, they're throwing that away too.

No I don't agree with your reasoning nor with how you worded your thought. I'd go on elaborating further but I really don't feel like it as it is past midnight and I got the feeling I'd end up repeating myself for the most part so I'm just gonna say that it looks like you and I have different ideas of what the "title" is supposed to represent. So whatever. At least we can agree on the fact that Steve Rogers = Hydra agent is BS.

I swear, comics have become soap operas.
"Oh he was really this all along, oh no he wasn't, this person died, now they're back, dead, back, dead"
Seems like something that's being done, purely for shock value, or for the ol
latest
thing.

I dunno, I feel kinda similar to when they revealed that John Connor was evil in the new Terminator.
(We've had 4 movies talk about John as some destined savior, only to be like, 'oh he's evil')

They took who was, in universe, their most trusted and respected hero, and just took a (To quote a favored video game reviewer of mine) "diarrhea dump" on his entire history at this point.

It's not so bad if it is indeed only temporary. Which, even if it wasn't meant to be, likely is now due to serious backlash.
