Amusingly (or sadly depending on your opinion) Dante was replaced in the "Chronicle Edition" with Raidou Kuzunoha.
I know, but that version was only released in Japan, wasn't it? If you buy the game on PSN, you'll still get the version with Dante, I think.
----
It wasn't really Atlus' fault, either. Too much time had passed, so they lost the rights to keep using Dante in the Chronicle Edition.
Besides, with all this talk about parallel universes, I'd like to think both happened at the same "Flashpoint" in time.
----
Well, whether they end up changing the CapAm story or not will be up to marvel, really. I'll just wait and see.
----
Yeah, it looks like it was mind control after all. How disappointing.
----
My own theory was that, there was a Marvel version of a Flashpoint Paradox and someone went back in time and changed everything, making this whole ordeal temporarily canon.
However, since fans can't have both and want one over the other to satisfy their own headcanon, it's impossible to have this story take place in an alternate timeline or a different dimension (a dimension that had a life of its own and overtook the original dimension for this particular storyline).
Now the writers have to lie to us and say that it wasn't mind control, even though it obviously was.
----
I still consider false memories to be a form of mind control, whether becoming a villain as a result of said false memories is voluntary or not.
