Was DmC Devil May Cry all that bad?

Alway considered that it's better to leave everything unexplained than make bad explanation.

It's not "bad", it's just... underwhelming.
I dunno. I understand they wanted to lesser his role, but turning him into bondaged slave of lesser demons and making him disappear in depth of hell do sounds pretty bad. I rather go with explanation "disappeared during final battle with Mundus"

No matter what. DMC Sparda didn't finish the job and left an entire world a ******* mess. At least DmC's Sparda tried (and is STILL trying) to stop a catastrophe from happening to the world.

Uh, no. DMC Sparda beat Mundus and his army and granted a long ass period of peace to the human world under his protection, until his death.
DmC Sparda knew he couldn't do sh!t against Mundus cause legend says only a Nephilim can kill him. That's why he chose to hide himself and his family. And that's why instead of trying to confront Mundus one on one, wisely decided to arm his sons and hide them, so that they could do the job. But he got caught at last and didn't save the world, nor his wife. And Mundus was free to make the world "his b!tch", as Lilith says.

So guess who left the world a mess.

DmC Sparda's inactivity is justified, cause he couldn't have killed Mundus anyway, but instead of being caught and bondaged, I would have preferred that, I don't know... that he got an honorable death while battling Mundus one on one on an a desperate attempt to save Eva or something...
I guess they decided for the capture because maybe they wanted to bring him back for a sequel, who knows.

But then how do we know that's not how he got caught? In blinding rage, Sparda could've charged Mundus's tower and try to fight Mundus in a blind rage and was captured either way.

I'm sure that if that was the case, the game would have let us know inserting it in Vergil's explanation.
Much more probable that Mundus's demons captured him while he was busy ripping Eva's heart out.

Its not really a big deal for me that he got captured, as it was pointed out only nephilim can defeat mundus, he was pretty darn limited in what he could hope to do so its no surprise he got caught in the end.

But the methods they used to restrain him.....couldn't they have used a badass demonic chains and maybe a demonic helmet to hide his face (since its obvious NT wanted his face concealed) instead of going the kinky bondage route with him looking he just jumped out of a dominatrix porno?

It just felt so off to me seeing him like that.

And as far as the circumstances surrounding his capture, well he could have went out like a badazz like DragonMaster pointed out with giving one final charge against Mundus or he could have just been captured by Mundus without much of a fight, we simply don't have enough to go on

...........But dat bondage though

Vergil's memory was wiped so he could've missed that part because of not having knowledge. Just saying.

Well, he already knows a lot for someone who lost his memory though... besides, the Demon King's former right arm, blood brother, who broke the ancient rule not to unify with angels, charging his tower single handedly... yeah, I'm sure something like that would have stayed in the demon history's records, and Vergil would have discovered it when he was investigating his past.
No, Dragon, I don't think that's the case. The most probable case is that after dealing with Eva, Mundus b!tchslapped Sparda and imprisoned him, condemning him to a life of eternal torture ecc. ecc.
