God I hate the "double tilt the stick in the same direction" kind of input. In MGR like in DmC, it's so ****ing annoying and clunky to execute in a 3D game.

This is why I'll ALWAYS prefer the lock on dependant inputs of DMC. I'd rather have that so I can just tilt the stick once to perform a forward move than do the double tilt thing. Ugh. They even tied that input to a fundamental move like the HR blade launcher in MGR.

Nope, no such link is shown on my app...? *scratches head*
At the home page of YouTube, you will see a lot of videos being recommended to you.
If you click on the vertical triple dots of that video link, there will be an option that says "Don't recommend channel" at the second last of the list, just before "Report".

From what I know, this is the only page where such option exists.
You can't tell YouTube to not recommend the channel anywhere else, like if you see a list of related videos while watching one or when you are looking through a list of search results.

I see what you meant.

A local resident ordered me to do some locksmith business for them, it's a scheduled one... and my car won't start.

So I'm stuck in the middle of archipelago, 25 km to the nearest town. I don't have a clue when am I gonna get home and I've been paid on advance for this one.

This weather is wrecking me.

Our country is not built for extremes. We have insulated homes and thick walls to keep the inclement weather at bay. Being baked in a humid oven for 24 hours a day has never been on the radar...

I've not slept and I've got the mother of all headaches who appears to be pro-life and is multiplying at an alarming rate.

No. More. Hot.

Two solutions: Buy a fan, or soak yourself into a bath. Taking a bath is better than showering, in this case. You need to let you body get some air or moist.

House is full of fans...the problem is, England has crazy humidity so any heatwaves, like we have right now, are sticky affairs as opposed to a dry heat you would get somewhere more arid. So warm sticky air is being pushed around by fans and doesn't really do much.

Air conditioning in homes is not the norm over here and as such is prohibitively expensive for the vast majority of people...might break into Home Bargains and lie down in the aisles coz their air con is on point.

For a Brit, anything above 23°C is considered unbearable. I live in an insulated mid-terraced house which is never out of direct sunlight and it is currently almost 11pm at night and 32°C indoors.

Time to have my billionth glass of ice water and stick my head in the freezer for a bit

Insult to injury: mad sticky hot AND cat has crapped on my favourite bag which had all our reusable face masks in, my keys and bottles of sanitiser.

Bag is literally irreplaceable as they don't make it anymore and yes, it's a bag, but it has huge sentimental value and the cat's litter tray was two feet away but she couldn't be bothered to walk that far.

Because she is Satan in a cat's body and I think I hate her at the moment.

Yeah this is what happens when, during a freaking pandemic, you reopen ****ing clubs and discos. Contagion picks up again. And what's the government's answer to the new spike? Enforcing the use of masks only from 6 pm to 6 am, the hours where that kind of places is frequented. The rest of the day is left to people's discretion.

Bah. First of all, those places never should have been reopened, imo, and they should shut down again (though this point is more debatable cause their owners still need to make a living somehow), at least temporarily. Second of all, what's with the hour-specific law? What if a club frequenter has infected some guy who doesn't go to those places? That guy is now a carrier, and is more likely to be active and enter in contact with other people at hours that are not from 6 pm to 6 am, and is not entitled to wear a mask until that time frame, making him a danger.

I get it, it's summer, it's hot, nobody wants to wear masks full time but this is a pandemic. Can't half-ass this ****. We've been pretty good at dealing with it so far, now is not the time to stumble.

The gaming industry can really screw off right now with the sexual harassment/rape/racism and just ****ting on their staff. Rocksteady is another game company with sexual harassment problems. As far as I'm concerned I don't want their next game. They are in the same pile as EA, Ubisoft (I hate even more and will definetly not getting games from them after the leaks of their crimes), and Activision. Naughty Dog is not getting any from me either. Not how the way they acted during the release of LoUs II. Sony was not helping either, but only reason I buy Sony consoles is for the Japanese 3rd party games mostly. Silencing people from any criticsm. I don't care how dumb or spoilery a person opinions is, they have the right to have a voice. That is true censorship. Trying to control a narrative where you're thinking you're the good guy. Sony pulled this bullshit before with Ghostbusters (2016), and did not fool me there either.

During the release? They're still acting that way.

And because the above named offenses of these corporations rely on people eventually forgetting they did it, and consumers prioritizing their entertainment over accountability for those in the wrong (as if there aren't dozens and hundreds of games available to play anyway by now),

Here's a reminder that in 2015, David Ballard, a former developer for Naughty Dog, was sexually harassed by Robert Cogburn, the lead developer in charge of Uncharted 4's multiplayer. Balestra reported this to HR after enduring the toxic work environment for about two years and suffering a mental breakdown. He was reprimanded by then-VP of Naughty Dog Christophe Balestra and accused by Balestra of just wanting to tarnish Cogburn's career. Ballard was fired literally the next day for reporting the harassment and saying he didn't want to work with Cogburn anymore.

Robert Cogburn still left Naughty Dog on his own terms and with praise from his fans, moving to a new company "Wonderstorm" in 2018, and Balestra retired from Naughty Dog in 2017. Cogburn will still block anyone on Twitter who mentions the harassment.

Oh, I am well aware. I didn't know about the sexual harassment from Naughty Dog. Well, I am definitely not buying anything from them anymore. Robert Cogburn is definitely a thin-skinned ass hole.

See also: the current VP of Naughty Dog, who said he'd rather people hate TLOU2 than have a lukewarm reaction to it but then said "F the Haters"; who was inspired by a lynching that happened 20 years ago that caused him to have murderous thoughts towards the people involved, and aimed to make TLOU fans feel the same way in response to an event in the second game; who said "No one loves the characters more than we do" but sits around on Twitter chastising people for treating a video game character like a real person and telling them to get therapy.

You know what they say about eavesdropping: listeners never hear good about themselves.

It's pretty much the same thing when you get some screencaps about private conversations which weren't really meant for your eyes, and well, there was a reason why they weren't.
Again, I'm thankful to the sender of these, there was no malicious intent in this. But then again, this wasn't the only conversation that sender thought I should be aware of and I don't know if it's more of a burden than an advantage for me to keep myself updated on this.

Also, I ordered something from the US and the tracking says it has departed from Jamaica NY International Distribution Center August 14th, then for some reason the same package has departed from JFK August 17th, and last night the same one departed from O'Hare International, Chicago. So I don't know if this is normal or if they're having a state-crossing ping pong match with my package or... what.

Also I realized I should inform my country's customs about this, they might be interested about it. (It's a lockpick set. Not illegal here, but they might want to check it anyway. Might look interesting in the X-ray anyway.)

I feel so tired after hearing the double whammy of news today about the British Museum taking down the statue of its founder because he had a tenuous link to the slave trade, and the BBC deciding not to play "Rule Brittania" because it has the line "the British will never be slaves" which is supposedly racist.

The fact that the curator in the former example defended the decision by comparing the British Empire to Nazi Germany and a BBC producer in the latter example compared anyone who wanted the song played to Neo-Nazis... I don't even have the energy to get mad at these people anymore. Common sense just doesn’t seem to be "common" enough these days.

Mum and I, a month ago: Hey, maybe you guys shouldn't put any more money into this house cuz we'd really like to move soon and it's kinda pointless if you're just gonna sell the house when we're gone. It's over 40 years old and it needs more work than you'll get money for. And we've both got a bad feeling about this.
Homeowners: No, no; we need a new roof and to paint the house and it'll be fine.

House, now: giant hole gushing water from the roof cuz weird pipelines, destroying the ceiling in two rooms, some walls, and LOL monsoon clouds are on the way
Homeowners: How could this happen? Why? It was all going perfectly!
Mum and I: ಠ_ಠ

It's one of the very rare times I have found myself agreeing with Boris - we shouldn't set about erasing history. It's where we have come from, it's how we learn and it makes a nation what it is now, giving it perspective and drive to be better. Absolutely, some things need sorting as a result of history...but to cancel anything and anyone who even remotely offends in the slightest way is just as bad, in my opinion.

There was an article on the bbc written by a black woman concerning her great grandfather who was a slave trader. But it's ok because he was African and it was a source of income and pride and he was a great man. I just didn't get it.

And some woman is rewriting the lyrics to Jerusalem? Why? There's absolutely nothing wrong with them - it is literally a song of 4 questions wondering whether Jesus came to England for a bit. If anyone should be "offended", it's Christians. But guess what? We don't care!

Tell you what, let's all ban anything made in Germany as a result of Hitler's influence, refuse to drink tea, coffee, eat potatoes, tomatoes, use spices, herbs, no sugar, don't wear certain fabrics, destroy boats (they have links to the slave trade, dontcha know?), get rid of governments (historically lots were slave owners), ban entertainment (some entertainers owned slaves), don't use trains (the railroads were built by slaves in some areas) and no schooling - slaves helped to build some of those institutions so it's not allowed.

Oh, and blow up Australia because it was used as a penal colony once upon a time and we can't be having that.

The whole thing has gotten wildly out of hand...
