That's not really a word I'd ever hope to associate with Vergil.
Oh please, Vergil's had funny moments, intentional or unintentional. DMC 3 has proven that Vergil is not as refined or composed as he likes to present himself. Mr. "Give that to me." , or "I want yours too.". V reveals that he has a dorky side to him too. Sure, he doesn't want anybody knowing about it, but he's a dork similar to Dante. Sure, Vergil is refined compared to someone like Wesker or Azel (ironic because he is a copy of both Vergil and Wesker), but compare him to someone like Jeanne and it really starts to crack. I love Vergil, but he is a dorky, slick backed hair, edgelord. It is not his entire character, but I still love him for it

I am in complete disagreement with everything you just said, but, to narrow it down, Vergil is not silly and having him do a dance is silly. Vergil was never 'funny.' He was snide, snarky, and maybe condescending at times, but he was never the funny one. Nobody has ever described Vergil as intentionally funny. If you think he was, that's you, because when you ask people to describe him the word funny never comes up.

Disagree all you want, but he's had some intentional funny moments. Especially with the snark. They are brothers after all.

  • Not So Above It All:
    • He shows slight shades of it in 3, such as a willingness to (albeit very reluctantly) use a gun - even aiming it Gangsta Style like Dante usually does - to finish off Arkham. There is also the occasional snark he throws at Dante.
    • He really starts to fall into this trope in 5. At the very end of the game, once he mellows out a bit, he shows himself to be every bit as petulant and stubborn as Dante when their rivalry becomes a lot more brotherly. And then there's his human half V, who demonstrates a surprising capacity in being silly and a bit of a dork. Where, and how, exactly did Vergil learn to tap dance? There's also his appearance in the new main menu screen after the game's beaten, where more often than not he's lazily lounging around in awkward silence with his brother and son, either watching Dante read an adult magazine or shoot mildly annoyed looks at Nero and his Devil Breaker. Vergil will occasionally meet Dante's eye when he looks up and smiles, and it looks as if he's attempting to start a conversation with Nero, only to shake his head to himself and look down because he just can't find the words.
    • He also remembers the one night stand that lead to Nero's conception during his fight with Dante, remarking that "That was a long time ago" almost jokingly.
    • Prior to the two mending their relationship, he even cracks several legitimate smiles towards Dante's comments and barbs. After that mending, the post-credit scene has the two engaged in a competition of who can win the most rounds of a duel between the two and Vergil protests that they have an even score when Dante suggests he's up one on Vergil. He then makes a legitimate joke about having plenty of time to settle that matter whilst they're trapped in the Demon World.

He has his moments. There is no denying that. I have no problem accepting that.

Snark does not equate to funny. That's like saying egg equals breakfast. No, an egg can be used to represent life, birthing or any other number of things. Being snarky isn't necessarily an implication of trying to be funny. That's only one use but the more common one would be to condescend, degrade or mock.

Yeah, did you laugh at any of these? Did you really think that he said them for the chuckles? That any of these were those 'you get it? 'cause we're not going anywhere? Funny, right?' moments?

Yeah, these are not good examples, in the least and some are even presumptions of things they clearly know nothing about. For one, no one knows how long Vergil's relationship with Nero's mother lasted but whoever wrote this passes off his assumptions as absolute truth. And how is 'that was a long time ago' supposed to be a joke? What's funny about it?

True, but it can still happen. He does have snarky moments that are serious. Not denying that.

Yes. Though the moment with DMC3 was more of a "Holy, ****! This is awesome" when I first witnessed it.

They are for me. Not my problem if you think otherwise.

And how is 'that was a long time ago' supposed to be a joke? What's funny about it?
In the wow, I vaguely remember/I can't believe I did that kinda way. I did not make me laugh like a mad man, but I did get a chuckle out of it.

Vergil is a serious character, but he has his moments. Even if minor or comically serious. There you go.

With that I mind, is he the type to do a dance like V does? Bottom line, Vergil isn't the dancing type and to retort to any correlations to V you might bring up I'll remind you that Vergil is also Urizen and Urizen doesn't dance.

Too bad Urizen does not exists anymore. He's Vergil without the humanity and the single mined goal of defeating Dante and nothing else.Once he has all the power, he clearly does not what to do with it other than try to beat Dante. He's got less depth than Mundus or Arius of all people. V is Vergil's humanity and personality merger already has an affect on him. He thanks Nero and he's contemplative before fighting Dante again. He was already changing. V had to learn the tap dancing from somewhere since they are one in the same. Odds are Vergil learned something as a kid. The tap dancing and most likely picked up the violin, albeit briefly, as a hobby. So I would not be surprised if the DMC5!Vergil has a dance taunt. Nor do I have a problem with it, because this Vergil has grown, even if it is a little, from how he was at 19.

@Vergil95 It was you? I thought it was with Carlos.

No it was Carlos, i was whit you on that, saying it wasn't due to covid but just because of capcom choice like they did whit dmc 4 special edition, and i was also the first saying it wasn't due to covid-19

Also i find out that ray tracing is only available at launch on ps5 and later on will be released on Xbox series x, could they have some agreement whit Sony, or they just can't make it right on the series x for launch.... Maybe they have some similar agreement for the digital edition that's why is was released first

I was also trying to pre order the special edition from the official site but it's seems in not yet available for pre order despite the site having the pre order page lol
Yup, it was with me, but I rejected it, because I knew it was going to come, but I didn't think it was gonna be that soon after in December because.... of delay patterns this year. Eh.

I just saw a report that the game won't have ray tracing on XBSX. Does anyone have a concret source for this?

The game will not have ray tracing on Xbox series s, and it will not have ray tracing on Xbox series x at launch but it will later be added whith a patch on series X

Here is the concrete source, from capcom itself:

And even Force Edge it seems (though it's a big summon sword now). At least it's not a downgrade as I feared originally. Still less then I'd have liked to have.

My most positive guess is that they'll get a couple new moves each. Now I'm actually glad that Vergil will be purchasable separately for PC. Out of all the things in the SE, he is the feature I actually am interested in, and so far it ain't looking at all like he would be worth buying the whole SE for me.

Oh look, they're recycling Beowulf and its moveset again, yay. :cautious:

I was hoping for a replacement sword for Force Edge and not a spectral one.

Plus questioning about Beowulf whether the same or not an upgrade like King Cerberus. Who knows?

Yeah...
I knew it was going to be that but I still hoped I was being pessimistic.
This is sincerely underwhelming. I'm willing to bet it's two cutscenes and running through the whole game as Vergil as it was with 4SE. It's looking like more of the same and the same. 15 years and the additions and improvements are done in baby steps.

Oh you don't need to bet, they never made a secret of that one. It's gonna be the original game's campaign but playing as Vergil exactly like in 3SE and 4SE. Just like during 4SE's marketing, they were even calling it "Vergil mode" in that preview stream a while back, as if it's just a modifier to the original campaign.

EDIT:
In case you're still somewhat in doubt, a preview from Multiplayer.it just came out. Confirmed that Vergil just runs through the original campaign, and has only Yamato, Beowulf and Force Edge (they mentioned his upgrade system "for his three weapons"). The more hardcore optimists will probably say that it just could be that he has new weapons but the media can't talk about it, but I highly doubt it and I'll believe it when I see it, genuinely.

On the plus side, they mentioned Doppelganger has some kind of techniques of its own and he has some Sin DT mechanic involving V but we already knew about that last one from the trailer.
