DmC and DMC

How is it nick-picky to say I am not going to assume something when nothing out right has been said so nothing is set in stone and I rather not go on and state something or think something that could very well be wrong. I mean really what I think and do is not being nick-picky it is being cautious because I am not in the people who make the decisions head.

But ok if that is nick picking to you so be it I will be right here not latching onto anything until it is out in the open and on record without having to read between lines.

Edit: @MegaMad9 What are we suppose to see in the thread? *Tilts head* you know what never mind.
You were supposed to see why people hate this game, because it's different

You were supposed to see why people hate this game, because it's different

..wait I suppose to see that?, Ok they people hate a game that they do not know fully about that has a lot of the same element of the original but with what looks like a more coherent story. I am sorry as I always said I respect people not liking it but to say it is different it is not to far from the original story. but have at it if that is what you think.

I do not believe and hating what is different because if people can easily hate like that because of that reason then who's to say they do not do that with their fellow humans and I am not saying they do but it is easy to see them to be that way. different does not mean bad but if someone do not like it because they do not feel it's their taste ok, just don't pull that different justification on me since I've had real life bad things happen because someone hated me because I and others like me are different. just don't leaves a bad taste in my mouth with that kind of answer. sorry to put it like that but that is to close to home.

I'm not saying it's a justification, I wrote that your brain subconciously tells you to hate something that is different.

BTW I'm sensing a disturbance in the force. I am actually a supporter of DmC (I'll tell you that I never cared much for the Devil May Cry franchise before it), I just thought that, since this thread was about the relationship between DmC and DMC, that I might add something useful to the discussion

Lol I am sorry,I realized I made it seems as if I was talking about you saying it when I should have been more clear, just I've went through life being hated for being different or not what others prefered, which is why I don't judge things/humans I do not know about. Again I am really sorry for that no excuse but me being tired if hate period.

It's cool, we've all gone through these periods in one form or another

Funny you should mention the new Tomb Raider, since this Lara does have a different personality from her previous incarnations. Seriously, she does. She's scared out of her mind and screaming relentlessly half the time, and even stupidly mutters "I hate tombs" like a baby. That's a far cry from the Lara Croft everyone knows.

And my god, DmC is not replacing the original series. I'm sick of people saying this because there is no evidence to support it. Capcom has even consistently said that the classic DMC is not abandoned in any way.

I'm also sick of people who are clearly in denial. What Capcom has said is that if there is demand for the old series, they might continue it. Something tells me there won't be sufficient demand for DMC to continue. Also, I don't care if she has a totally different personality. Other than that, is she a totally different person? Is the world around her totally different? If so, it's not Tomb Raider. You may want to delude yourself that it is Tomb Raider, but it really isn't. When you take away so many elements that make a game, what you're left with is not the same game.

Look, it seems to me this is about to spiral out of control, and I won't be part of that, sorry.

If you had ever been on the internet you would know that there is plenty of desire for a DMC5.

Actually this Dante is just as cocky and smack talking as the past Dante. Hell they practically are father and son when you put them together. I think the reason people say they're nothing alike is because of the look. So new Dante says the F-word, that's just one word that differentiates them.

And Lara is very different from her old self. Now she's scared, says she hates tombs, and isn't as cool as she was before.

Alright, so he's still cocky and smack-talking. Wow, you're right, he's just like the old Dante! *Sigh*
Looks are a part of it, yes. Not an important part of it, but still part of it. I won't change Sonic the hedgehog into a woman with huge knockers and call the game Sonic.

The Lara part I already answered.

Do you have the numbers, then? How many people in percentages of the fanbase still want a new DMC? What do you think is ''plenty of desire''? Did you see four people talk on a forum and did you go: ''Wow, there's still demand for this?''

How do you know how much demand there is for it?

Dante still wears a longcoat and brown trousers (like DMC3). He is still well built and his hair is the only major change.

No need for sarcasm. You are coming across as the most rude, arrogant asshole on the internet ever so why not calm down. On the internet all I ever see are pricks like you complaining and wishing for DMC5. There is still more want for DMC5 than any DmC. Do you have proof that DmC is more wanted than DMC5?

Sorry, but it's a genuine question. I didn't mean to come across like that. I just want to ask the question in the most efficient way possible. So I ask again: where are the statistics? 'The burden of proof' is on you, sorry. From what I've seen on Facebook, some other sites and even here, is that ninety percent of people or more support DmC and don't want a new Devil May Cry.

No offense, but you've got to be kidding me. When was the old Dante somebody who looked like a hooligan, spouting curse words instead of sarcastic/sardonic/ironic jokes like Vergil and Dante did? When was he so incredibly juvenile? The demo can only show so much, but I'm positive we're going to see just how different he is from the old Dante.

Honestly I find it petty to say just because he swears he is different than previous Dante - in DMC4 we had the whole sexual innuendo thing when he got lucifer. It is is only natural to swear as pretty much everyone does it unless witheld by a moral obligation. Asides from swearing he is not much different - DMC3/4 Dante was juvenile in the sense that he goofed about a lot. New Dante also jokes about as well.

Proof? Look at the DMC forums that are not to do with DmC - there has to be loads on there who do not participate here due to there lack of intrest in DmC, (I know this is a bad example but still...) YouTube while usually filled with trolls I would still not see that many downvotes on any video unless it was a troll as a video, look at people who vlog about DmC and how DMC5 would be better... The want for DMC5 is everywhere.

Ok, so he's exactly the same as the old Dante. Swearing is normal, I don't disagree with you there. But when Dante keeps saying ''f*** you' several times in a row to an enemy, I can't help but think that wasn't necessary or interesting at all. Not to mention less classy.

There's not many downvotes because people either think it's 'not done' to hate something, or they're indifferent about it. Usually, only the supporters of DmC go watch a DmC video and take the time to vote it up. It works that way very often. People look for the videos they might like, and vote them up.

I'm sure there's people who vlog about how DMC5 would be better, but that doesn't tell me anything about how large a demand there is for DMC5. If there's one person for every twenty or so who love DmC, then you can expect DmC to do well, and DMC5 to be cancelled (according to Capcom's statement about the continuation of DMC).

The scene with the boss is written to be like an arguing couple.

In your case just think optimistically and sit on the forums and wait for news on DMC post DmC release... I doubt that Capcom will give up DMC. I have the theory that they are using DmC as a tool so that it's controversy will band together the ones who hate it with the one who like it to all buy a DMC5. I hope that isn't true but I would not put it past a business as businesses will do whatever for money.

I would say a death threat to NT is enough proof that DMC5 is wanted badly by the fanbase.
...Isn't that enough? Although I think it was a very petty attempt though.
And I also need to correct you, he never used F words in a row. His enemy did.

You really, REALLY need to pay more attention to what your complaining about. You know how many times Dante said f*ck in that back and forth with Poison? Once. You know how many times I've heard him utter f*ck throughout all the material I've seen? Thrice, and he wrote it once. He's said other expletives, but they are not the majority of his vocabulary. Like...at all. He's not an uncouth degenerate stringing together cusses in his daily speech, and it only really comes out when he's dealing with what he hates - demons. Dante wasn't meant to be classy in this, he's the rough-around-the-edges character before Dante becomes a more refined person. Dante really is a lot like the classic, he just has so much more visible, or at least vocal, anger towards the demons he wants revenge on, but the classic was still out for vengeance, too. It's one of the first things he mentions in DMC1.

I've already gone into the point of Poison's interactions with Dante being about showing how vile and vulgar that thing, as well. It's not meant to be classy, it's meant to disgust you.

With all your Tomb Raider stuff, you mentioned that DmC is completely different, but, really, how different is it? We still have demons, we still have DMC's hack 'n' slash gameplay, we still have Red Orbs, a Style meter, Missions, Scores. All original elements of DMC, the only things different are those done for the sake of the universe and circumstances created for the narrative. Not entirely different from DMC really.

Also remember that there's the quiet majority out there, on both sides. There are those that don't like it who are smart enough not to watch it, but you're kidding yourself if you actually believe that "only DmC supporters watch DmC videos," because anyone who is a DmC supporter and has ventured below a video to its comments will see, that the ratio of negative comments about the game overtake much of section. There are many who are happy with having DmC and a DMC5, and there are those that are happy for both, but would rather simply focus on what is actually on its way - DmC, instead of looking so far ahead for something else.
