Dante and Raiden... DmC and MGR... Why choose?

I wished my Gamestop would have one but not enough people have pre-ordered.
Literally because of Dante's looks and I'm not even kidding about that.

Heh, never heard anyone talking about Dante's looks near my gamestop. In fact, I...never heard anyone talking about the game.

Well me and a friend of mine got in a conversation with the Gamestop manager who I'm friends with and we asked him if there would be a midnight launch for DmC and he said there wouldn't be. He continued to tell us that dozens of people said they would not get the game because of Dante's hair.............................Dante's........f**king.........hair. Ugh. Makes me sick just thinking about it.

Dante would kick Raidens sorry ass in two seconds.

Just saying.

I mean, Raiden stabs himself once and spews white blood everywhere and needs ******* dialysis.

Dante gets cut by multiple chainsaws and meat cleavers and gets up without a scar.
Raiden VS DMC3/4 Dante? Yeah, Dante would most likely win.

Raiden VS DmC Donte? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
No

We don't know the full extent of DmC Dante's and Raiden's capabilities so just save it it until both games are released. Sheesh.

Honestly I too want this game to fail not because I think its a bad game its an okay DMC game compared to

I want the game to fail to teach Capcom a lesson...."STOP F*CKING WITH YOUR BELOVED FRANCHISE!!!" DMC4 sold almost 3 million units. You can obviously tell your game is loved a lot. Then they reboot it expecting 5 million units then drop it to 2 million units less than what DMC4 sold basically saying a lot of what Capcom thinks of DmC. Capcom knows that the fans don't like the game and in the end still attempts to cater to them above all (making Dante's DT give him white hair and look like classic Dante, the 60 fps PC version, making the new Dante basically the same as the old Dante, and if the game ends with Dante hair turning white, opening up "Devil May Cry", and basically they just created another Devil May Cry).

Personally what they do they can never pull in a much larger audience than before at best they got like half a million new people interested in DmC. I do thank DmC for getting me interested in DMC but in the end I who was swayed into the DMC franchise by DmC will prefer a DMC5 or a Capcom made DMC than THIS.

"Stop f*king with your beloved franchise"? Ha! After what happened with DMC4, you expect them to make a DMC5 right off the bat when you and half of the fanbase might start whining about it being a rehash? (Reminds me SO much of the DBZ fanbase) You know, just because some games sold well doesn't mean it's received well, and DMC2 and 4 just proved that. And if the ending of DmC ends up to be a cliffhanger, so what?! Capcom always have the option of making a DMC5 and if not, just give it up, let the original franchise rest in peace. Capcom isn't really taking things far with trying new things.

BTW don't you have the HD collection? Maybe if this game fails you might as well go back playing that, and that goes for all of you anti-fans.

what?

While Dante is fighting Demon Kings, Raiden is fighting toasters.

Edit: let me rephrase that. Maybe Raiden would take Dante in the real world, because of all of Raiden training. Raiden is the top of the line cyber ninja and Dante just lived a pitiful life full of lies and his only real training is he is stronger than he knows about. So if Raiden was quick enough, which i will give him the benifit of the doubt, he could cut Dantes head off, easily. But once you add DT to the mix, the competition is over

That's some toaster!

I prefer to ignore "who would win?" questions, because you can't quantify power and abilities on a scale. It's like on the DissidiaForum when it was brought up who would win out of all the characters throughout Final Fantasy. It's so hard to gauge because so many themes were handled differently; sometimes magic could simply be learned, sometimes it was only given to demigod-like people; some have killed gods, but are gods really as all-powerful like in religion, or are they just powerful immortals like in some mythology? To many factors and impossible to figure out :/

Raiden is a cyborg, but what's his potential force? What's Dante's, for that matter, being a Nephilim? Raiden can "cut anything" (only when it's sufficiently stunned or inanimate) and yet Dante has taken chainsaws to the neck and come out with his head. There's also the science vs magic factors :p

Either way - on topic: I'm getting both, because I like both series, and both games. They fulfill different desires for my gaming hobby, but I'm still more excited for DmC because of the presentation, style, and combat. I absolutely love free-form combat, and unfortunately, I have noticed no real difference in anything I do in MGR :/

Hit the nail right on the head there dude! I like MGR but in my opinion it isn't as good as DmC as all the attacks look the same and all do roughly the same damage. I really like both games but DmC to me is just more creative and less generic in general.

well yea... the worlds are too different to make a comparison. But theres always PSAS's!!!

I still feel DmC will be the better game. I just don't like the idea of P* trying to keep up with Konami in the writing department. P* always seems like it never takes itself seriously, which is good when i don't give a crap, but is bad when i love MGS and i could watch every cutscene after multiple playthroughs. I think MSR will be very cool, and the cut scenes in MGR will be so over the top, SO over the top that i'll finally get my Kung Fu fix in.

Which brings me to DmC and why i haven't seen any bad ass fight scenes. If NT take these fight scenes out, i'll be a little dissapointed. DMC and MGS make the best fight scenes imo

I know what you mean about Platinum and Metal Gear. I looooove Metal Gear's story, but...I guess I don't expect too much out of MGR in that department. I know it's a "what-if" scenario, so I guess I lower my expectations, sorta like I did with AC!D :p

I'll be sad to see little to no over-the-top fight scenes in DmC, but U'den Flameworks are the guys that do all that. They were present in both DMC3, 4, and Bayonetta, so it's not like it was all Kamiya's handiwork. DmC seems to have a bit of cool choreography, and we also haven't seen a lot of the game either, especially things like Dante's actual fights with other enemies - and Vergil :3

I suppose in terms of choreography expectations, I rank it somewhere just above DMC1 and 2 :p Even then, the combat does a great job of making up for the lack of U'den's brand of action n.n

lol huh you mean devil may cry the game with a white haired teenager and his white haired brother in which is you avatar.i hope that was a joke.

Dante is the protagonist of of DmC. His hair is black. Vergil is a supporting character. In what way was he joking?

at the moment his hair is black plus it changes in devil form. vergil also white hair.. just saying if he had enough their is plenty more

I'm a massive Metal Gear fan. To be honest, I'm a bigger fan of Metal Gear than I am Devil May Cry which is why I think Rising is one stupid idea. I fell in love with Metal Gear for Metal Gear reasons. When I play Metal Gear I don't want to play DMC. Rising really doesn't even look that great compared to DmC. DmC pays more tribute to its predecessors than Rising does and I know Rising is a spinoff but it's one I'm not excited about.

While I do have a personal hatred for the character of Raiden (GRAY FOX IS THE TRUE CYBORG NINJA!) I really think it's not going to be that great a game. It looks like one of those games that would be fun for a while but probably get repetitive. The addition of QTEs don't sweeten the package either. It really seems like the mediocre title compared to DmC. When I play Metal Gear I want my stealth based gameplay.

I think it's really stupid how the stubborn DMC fans who are so against the reboot are wanting to support Rising just because it was made by P*. My fanboyism might shine through here but I know damn well they aren't real Metal Gear fans and it's their stupid bias hatred for a reboot that is bringing them over to it. It's funny how DMC fans are giving more attention to Rising than the MGS fans are. Seriously, pretty much everywhere I go MGS fans are like screw Raiden and Rising. Yea, Rising doesn't exist if you ask me.

Everyone I know who likes Metal Gear doesn't care about Rising. I'm just waiting for my Metal Gear Solid:Ground Zeroes. Those are the real Metal Gear games. I still hate Raiden and I don't play Metal Gear to play some DMC rip off. I want my Tatical Espionage Action thank you very much.

Dante's hair colour is generally not white, period. Vergil is not the protagonist of DmC so it does not matter. Raiden's hair is white all the time. Dante's hair becomes white for just a few seconds. Raiden is a white haired protagonist. Dante is not. Can you not understand this simple fact?

I honestly wasn't too impressed by MGR's gameplay when I saw it.
But I was impressed by the overall concept of the character.

I know that it's no DMC, and it never will be of course, but something about the slow motion kills I just don't like that much. Especially if it's done over and over again.
IMO, it's a stupid idea that will probably get repetitive during the entire run of the game if it's forced constantly.

I personally favor Ninja Gaiden based gameplay when it comes to other hack n' slash games that are not DMC related. So whenever I do get a Wii U (which will probably be next year) I will probably get Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge since it did fairly decently.
