The narrative to me seems like a typical American blockbuster (I know plat are Japanese company) with the normal military gargle but the boss confrontation is well written! DmC's narrative has been kept under wraps so you wouldn't know much about it.
I know I haven't seen much of DmC's narrative side. But initial impressions are what counts when viewing trailers.
If you don't like what the trailers/gameplay has to offer, then most likely you're going to steer clear from the game itself.
But again, that's just my opinion. At this point, I just prefer MGR over DmC because it's more appealing to me.
I would think a lot of the MGR fans are DmC rejecters as it is almost nothing like MGS so why would the average stealth gamer like it?
Well, for one thing, it isn't MGS. (Which has been established already). So of course it's different, just like a lot of people say that DmC is different than DMC. It's not the same.
But that doesn't automatically mean that most fans of the series wouldn't like MGR. And it definitely doesn't mean that most of the anti DmC side gravitated towards getting MGR just because they don't like DmC. I can see some of the antis doing this, but not most of them.
And who knows, seeing how this is a new take on Metal Gear, it could appeal to new fans as well. Which it did with me.
But I'm not liking MGR just because I don't like DmC. I'm liking it solely because I want to.
