So info on the upcoming episodes has come out and it seems people will be teaming up to defeat certain foes. I can't say much more than that otherwise folks might be spoiled. But I can provide Links if folks want them.
Dragon Ball Super Manga Chapter 26, it basically ends like the Anime does just with its twist on things.
Two things that stuck out to me was Whis saying he has a method that is better than the Evil Containment Wave Rice Jar. (Something also mentioned in the Anime I believe) Also Future Mai being vague about Pilaf's future. I can't help but wonder what happens to him and Shu in the future, maybe Toriyama has some gag in store for them. Maybe, perhaps.

EPISODE 100 WAS LIT!!!!!
Broly confirmed to not exist in the DBZ canon. I mean, we already knew that, but still. It's surprising how many canon-only rosters of DBZ fighting games still had him in it. Maybe now he'll be replaced by Kale.
Hit was still awesome. Jiren was still awesome.

The way I see it, she's getting almost the same characterization as Kid Gohan, but hopefully without the repeated shafting and the amount of in-universe story time to finally develop.

Esp since Gohan was shown to be powerful since Raditz, and yet he was portrayed as timid and pacifistic 90% of the time. He more or less hid behind Krillin and Piccolo during the fight against the Saiyans, even when Tien and Chiaotzu died in front of him. He hesitated on fighting during the Ginyu saga too (not attacking Ginyu when he was supposed to). Then by the Cell saga he was still trying to proclaim pacifism and it took a bunch of his friends being beat to within an inch of their lives and for 16 to die to trigger a transformation. Gohan just didn't have a natural fighting instinct the same way Vegeta and Goku (or even Piccolo) did and do.

Then, in the Buu saga we finally saw him develop into the guy who'd walk up to Super Buu and say right to his face "Fight you? No, I wanna kill you". He's been in world-ending conflicts since age 4-5, and it still took him over 10 years to get confident and willing to face an enemy without being emotionally distressed beforehand.

So hopefully it doesn't take Kale that much time to get some characterization outside of "meek except for Rage Mode".

I really enjoyed the Broly movie call backs in this episode. I demand a Broly VS Kale Toei. Make it so! I feel bad for Kale considering her self-esteem is poop on a stick.
Her fragile self-esteem is what makes her one of my newest favorite characters.

Yeah, I agree. There are comments scattered on sites like Reddit and whatnot about how much they don't like Kale because her low self-esteem isn't typical of Saiyans, but really, if it wasn't this then we'd be getting the 203rd iteration of the "Cocky Saiyan" archetype seen in... Raditz, and Vegeta, and all the Saiyans in the Bardock special, and Nappa. and Goku, and Gotenks, and SSj2 Gohan (later Ultimate Gohan), and USSj Trunks... even Pan in GT...

We've seen more Saiyans with a high opinion on their own capabilities (sometimes to the point of letting down their guard, not finishing a fight quickly, or overlooking their own flaws) than we have of the opposite scenario, so having Kale around is a nice break from all that.

While Kale's personality is indeed refreshing, my reason for liking her is because I'm like her. My self-esteem is pretty low, but under certain situations I can undergo a "Kale becomes Broly" transformation. I can project myself onto her and find comfort in her struggles. Plus!
All her weak-willed whining and moaning makes me feel...hot...

...I've said to much!

Pfffft! Oh, you. XD

Ep 101 was awesome. Kale continues to be great, and the other characters get some time to shine, too. Except for like.... five of the Pride Troopers. Even the Ginyu Force got a better showing.

Really been enjoying this arc too & a pain to have to wait for a new episode every week. I do feel however that things need to get far more serious, everyone seems to be getting along and far too nice to each other for a tournament that risks their universe being erased. Still seems that some characters are acting as if nothing is at stake and like they can coast along without a care in the world. I know most of the weaker fighters are now gone and it should get more interesting from now on but things need that more serious edge soon.

I think that the tournament's lack of seriousness is very Toriyama. He never writes something that's so "omG so serious" and everyone's care free attitude is Dragon Ball itself. I'm sure the tournament will reach a "omG sh@t has now hit the fan moment!" But will quickly be slaped in the face with a "Hi I'm Son Goku. Care to fight for sh@ts and giggles?"
Wait, that's happening now... The prophesy has been fulfilled!

To be fair, only one universe has been erased so far, and that universe got erased specifically because they were stupid enough to pick a fight with Universe 7 by themselves. Things might pick up when more universes end up wiped out entirely and we're left with the non-shmucks, but for right now they're taking advantage of it being a free-for-all to "strike up alliances" and take down tougher fighters to avoid tiring themselves out taking out "everyone".

As for the recent episode 102, Android 17 is reaching the top of my list on favorite characters right in the first ten minutes of it. This episode doubles down on the comedy, and Goku's.... Goku-ness. It works out well though. Also, Vikal/Kakunsa is my OTP.

So Tate didn't misunderstand the question. Super Saiyan God Son Goku is returning to Super. (The red form not the blue form) Well I wonder if the show will explain it or just pull a Super Saiyan "Rage" Future Trunk on us. Come on next week!

Watching episode 103 right now. First, Android 17 is topping the list as my favorite, and I'm digging the hints of his domestic life (playing the bad guy for his kids' games, possibly). LOVE the callback to his countering the Hellzone Grenade.

Universe 6 has TWO Namekians and somehow we haven't even seen them? It's a Piccolo lookalike and a Lord Slug lookalike in the U6 roster. A Yardrat in Universe 2 is nice, though.

I'm pleased that Botamo's overblown "takes any attack" nonsense got challenged; having everyone just continually punch his gut with no plan was getting old. And Gohan was way overdue for an actual moment to shine. Sad that it'll come at the cost of Universe 10. RIP Gowasu... you've died like four times already....

The animation went into Dragonball Absalon levels of quality and I'm not even sure if that's a compliment or an insult.

Piccolo with the.... actual Hellzone Grenade. I feel like I've seen this too many times already.

Obuni is about to get his ass beat~

Low-key amused people don't seem to know Gohan's name and keep calling him "Goku's Kid".

Gowasu takes his L like a champ.

Jesus, only 37 minutes left? How many episodes has it been since the start of the tournament? Maybe we can estimate how much longer this will last and not have to worry so much about pacing.

SSG is back: To be fair, the tournament actually has enough Saiyans, pure or otherwise, for Goku to undergo the ritual again and get the SSG power. It might be a "stamina issue" with Blue that Goku needs the God form to bypass, but IDK. It isn't all that clear which form is stronger between God and Blue, considering 100% God form against 70% Beerus was threatening the very fabric of the universe with each blocked punch causing a shockwave. Blue just hasn't been that impressive in comparison even when fighting someone like Rose Goku Black who was on par if not stronger than either Blue form.

You know, I was watching the opening to the original DB anime, just for nostalgia's sake.

And damn, I suddenly realize I now like it way more than DBZ and onwards. Watching those little clips in the opening made old memories resurface, and I gotta say, back when I was a kids DBZ was my ****, but now I realize maybe it's not really all that.

First of all, the fights in DB felt way more... how to say... martial artsy, as opposed to DBZ and beyond, with energy waves, teleports and basic one-twos everywhere. Made those fights so much more entertaining to watch.

Second, I've grown to really be indifferent to all these forms, Super Saiyan 1, 2, 3, 4, God, whatever, when I realize how cheap these writers get with them, making them pretty much meaningless when everyone and their grandmas can achieve them and surpass them the next minute.

Does anyone else feel the same way? I've also watched a bit of Super and man, I ain't impressed with these new forms. God basically just looks like Kayoken (or however you spell it) and the blue one is... blue Super Saiyan. As unoriginal as it gets imo. I dunno, I'm not really feeling DB has ever surpassed the first series and in comparison, the rest feels dull and uninteresting (though granted, I've been out of touch with DB for so long, I may be overlooking things) to watch. Am I the only one in this forum?

In full agreement.

Maybe I'm biased as I watched DB first but I never got the hype behind DBZ. The power creep, the DB characters getting sidelined for the Saiyans and more...really turned me off.

That's not necessarily a case of bias. I watched DB first too and I was a big DBZ lover back in the days, for example. It's just that later, looking back, I started to change my mind when it comes to which one of the two I prefer. As a kid I could appreciate the continuous new forms and power levels, it was eyes candy after all, the kind of stuff kids enjoy. But now I'm a bit more critical I think, and when I compare how the fights looked in DB as opposed to DBZ and onwards, I can't help but like the DB ones more. To me they just look more awesome to watch, cause they actually resemble martial arts fights, not challenges to who's got the biggest energy blast attack.

Im wondering if the god forms are going to be null and void after this arc as it hasnt actually caught up with the ending of DBZ yet. Uub has been mentioned for example but hes still a young child whereas at the end of Z hes older and goes off with Goku to train and the god form doesnt exist there. So im wondering if something is going to happen to remove the god form because achieving godly power surely HAS to be the pinnacle of power and not much higher you can go than that. If they plan on DBS going on as long as they claim then they simply cant have regular enemies going toe to toe with god form characters as there is nowhere else the power can raise to.

For what they can do past Super, they don't have to adhere to GT, which lightens the load considerably.
GT's been called a "Grand side story" per Toriyama and GT makes callbacks to movie details that he's already said take place in a different universe based off the original, making it at least "canon to the anime" or "canon to the anime movies" and not necessarily "canon to the original manga".

That's GT, whereas something like Dragonball Online ( taking place after End of Z, and 250 years after the manga began ) got specific license for the manga. It credits Shueisha rather than Toei, it's supervised by Shueisha and Toriyama, and it has more involvement from Toriyama than GT did ( see: Shenlong Times #7, "for GT, all I did was just come up with the title, design the initial main cast and some of the machines, and also do a few images" ).

It ignores GT with certain plot points while acknowledging manga continuity of Dragonball and DBZ. Its details include Piccolo being still alive (despite blowing up with Earth and then being stranded in Hell in GT), Buu died of natural causes after birthing a new race of Majin (instead of being permanently fused to Uub and forming Majuub), Gohan published academic books on the nature of Ki allowing humans to learn how to harness it (he could've still done that after GT though), and Goku and Vegeta left Earth and had a fight to the death instead of allowing themselves to die of old age, and they never returned (so the Omega Shenron thing never happened with him absorbing the Dragonballs into himself and showing up still in his prime 100 years later to Grandma Pan).

Super itself ignores a bit of GT with GT's Perfect Files saying the Saiyan homeworld was "Planet Saiya" and Super saying it was "Planet Sadal", whether or not Freeza could sense Ki, the nature of Hell, Kaioshin and Kibito defusing in Super when they were still one person in GT.

So basically Toriyama can change anything he pleases about End of Z including whether there are god-like characters by that time and if Goku still has God Ki, because GT was the only certain thing that told us God Ki and godly opponents and 12 other universes didn't exist, and that's just an alternate timeline/"Grand side story". Super doesn't have to remove the new forms, they can move forward while keeping in mind that there are stronger and stronger opponents in other universes and beyond. Goku certainly isn't going to reach Daishinkan's level anytime soon, much less Zen-Oh's level in terms of power. There'll be plenty for him to train Uub for.

"Goku... Krillin... You two were the ones who taught me that this old man still has a future and it's too early to decide my limits. You're the ones that taught me that by continuing to aim for higher heights. My students! Move well! Learn well! Play well, eat well and rest well! Enjoy your lives merrily and to the fullest! The Kame Style is with you! This is the greatest, most powerful Kamehameha!"
Anyone else feel their heartstrings pulled during this moment?

The only thing that would've made it better is if we had a montage of Roshi training Goku, Krillin and Yamcha.
