What Are You Thinking?

BrawlMan

Lover of beat'em ups!
Reactivating my FB and Tumblr accounts was a mistake. It's all about fighting and trolling and depression and hatred. It doesn't matter if you stay off the madness on purpose, you'll see that anyway because it's damn EVERYWHERE, mainly because both of these services are built around sharing and reblogging... And, for some reason, the most triggering content is also the most shared. Because Drama Sells. People find that entertaining.

Damn it, I don't need this. The news are enough emotionally consuming already, I don't want to get a face full of doomscrolling even when I'm trying to have fun. :/

I'd actually prefer deleting my whole Facebook permanently, but there's a certain group that I'd like to stay in, so... *sighs*

We need to get more forums like this. It's different when it's not about sharing.

On other "currently thinking", I just got an invite to the graduation ceremony but I really don't know if I bother to go at all. It's an online ceremony. I'll be happy to wait for my Master's Graduation, which will hopefully be normal with fancy suits and dresses and glasses of champagne on university's cost. Also, ever since I was accepted to law school, I always dreamed of taking my father with me, so having an online ceremony is just... disappointing.
Exactly why I never got a myspace, facebook, nor Twitter page. I even predicted Facebook will be the new Myspace and nobody believed me. The jokes on them. I said this a million times already, and I'll say it again: Twitter is nothing more than I glorified chat room everyone can see.

A few nights ago, I had the worst hay fever. It was like my eyes were on fire, and I couldn't stop sneezing. :p

Flowers. Y'all are pretty looking, but evil!

LG Q7+ is my phone. But I am unaware of battery changes. Seriously nobody talks about such a thing
I gotchu fam.

Guy uses a flat opening tool to get at the battery, which is a BL-T39 like the G7.

Here's the Amazon page for the battery with the proper replacement tools.

Like I said, every battery is replaceable. Whoever tells you it's not just wants your money.

Right to Repair for life. Read about it here.

Oh my god, I didn't think sending an email would be so anxiety-inducing.

I was looking into my email account (which is very old) and came across messages from old friends from 2001-2003.
I was curious if they're still around and wanted to send an email to them.
But there's something very, dare I say, frightening about sending an email and not having them respond...

A family member and a friend encouraged me to "go ahead with it".
I hope they're still around...

Here's more material for it then (y)
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I'm on maternity leave next semester, but for the spring semester, I need a topic :)

So, it was my last therapy session today. I'm probably applying for another year from the state - that was the therapist's recommendation, "if I feel like it". So now I'm thinking how to approach the second year. I'm all stable and fine, in better health than ever and overall happy. I think it's time to dig a bit further in my flashbacks and trauma.
Got until August to come up with something.

+ I got a surprise gift from a friend online and I almost cried. She had bought some really cute baby clothes and chocolate ,_,
That's our daughter's second gift and she's not even born yet :D

These are the days I'm unbelievably grateful for the friends I have, both online and IRL. <3

I wonder if there should be a "What Are You Thinking?: Gaming Edition" thread, to separate random thoughts of gaming with real-life stuff.

Note to self: if it ain't broke, don't fix it (signature edition).

+Well, for good or for ill, the final installment in the WoN Trilogy is out there now.

++ Eight. More. Days. O_O

Funny that I'm dreading this as much as I'm looking forward to it.

Remember the good old days of message boards, when you have to write your username and password for every post you make?
This was long before the days of "logging in to a board".

I am that old.

EDIT: Also, threads for some message boards back then have a single page.
As people keep posting, the page gets bigger and becomes harder to load on dial-up.
Sometimes, to continue the thread, we'd resort to starting a new one because the original thread is "too big".
Nowadays, long threads like this will be separated into pages.

Ah, but are you ancient enough to recall Bulletin Board Systems? That's how I rolled...when I was, like, seven...

CT: 5am is an unacceptable time to be woken up. Unless there's a fire. And even then...possibly unacceptable.

Also the days when you had to get off the Internet otherwise you couldnt use the phone and were charged per minute to use it. My internet actually cut off when someone called the house which was great fun ... :cautious:

'Get off the phone nan! Im trying to pwn n00bs!'

I guess not, since we only started getting internet around latest 90's and early 00's.
At the time the internet was like some novelty that we only used for a short while, to look for trivial information.
I didn't join an internet community until 2000.

I'm that old as well.

Unfortuantely I was stuck with an awful internet provider for years when I lived with my parents and had constant disconnects and spent so long every day resetting things to get them working and swapping cable splitters. Made online gaming impossible for some time as I would lose connection at a moments notice, just used to stare waiting for the solid green light to start blinking and a pop up to say I had lost connection it was infuriating. In the end I offered to pay the Internet bill just so we could swap to a decent provider.

I didn't get into online gaming until I tried out Resident Evil 5 on the PS3 back in 2009.
I hardly play games on the PC.

I have came full circle, from my first online games in 1999/2000 on PC to not owning a gaming PC for 12 years and playing exclusively on consoles to now pretty much gaming solely on PC again. Only console I have in the house is a Nintendo Switch which has now been claimed by my Stepson and he has an XB1, I sold my PS4 and XB1 last year. This is the first time in 30 years that I dont actively play on a console.
