If he checked his FB only like once a week at least he'd know I've submitted my work in a competition and he'd know about the seminar. If he bothered to check his email, he'd know about the seminar. He's done neither so I just went ahead and told them it's OK to put my name in to reserve a seat.
I mean, I would have been keen to go anyway but the fact that Temple Grandin is going to be the guest speaker kinda sealed the deal for me. Not that I'm some weirdo fan of hers, I'm not, but her seminars are interesting and I'd like to get a little clip of her on my phone to show my kid afterward.

@Dante's Stalker
Btw oh my god! They've killed Kenny!

People who insist Martin is taking a long time to release the sixth book clearly don't know the first thing about the writing process. Do they imagine it's as simple as sitting down, writing it from beginning to end, and then publishing?

Foolish, foolish people. If it were that simple, everybody would be a bloody author by now. >.>

+My brain really needs to shut off at night. I don't think I've slept right all week. ._.

Reminds me of this post I found: http://plxguebearer.tumblr.com/post/145964406363/writing-a-book-is-so-easy Painfully accurate. So many people assume "writing a book" is just...sit down for an hour or so, write, make an editor read it, send to publisher, rake in cash. But...no. Just...no. It's painful. And never ending. And really friggen' rude when people assume it's easy. You think it's easy? Write your own dang book. Sorry...venting. ^^

Lol, the snark was strong with that one. :laugh: And it really is (painfully true, that is). By the gods though, I hope it doesn't take me fourteen drafts. I may yet weep...:'(

Mayoiga is done, and in retrospect it was good, I just wish it didn't mislead me at the start to expect horror or at least something more serious, as it turned out to be a silly, comfy story on some basic human psychology.

Trying to name...things without getting too crude or too anatomical is painful. Coincidentally, if there's anyone willing to help give me some feedback on an nsfw scene, I'd be eternally grateful. It's probably terrible, but...y'know.... -only about half done with it so will send it to whomever wants to give feedback when it's done-

+ Coffee? -coffee zombie mode--lumbers around in search of coffee-

@Shadow You know I'm always game. ^^ (Fingers crossed I make it on tonight).

CT: So much to do. ._. I really hope no one makes a social call today, or that if they do, I'm given like an hour's notice, at the very least. I don't do well with surprises. ^^; Especially when I'm still in my PJs and feel and look like hell...

-reading HP Lovecraft for a horror study-
Mum: "You mind if I turn the tv on?"
-turns into an eldrich fish-demon--screeches--scuttles, crab-like, away-

(Ironically enough, we're now watching Interview With the Vampire...so...basically...still getting the horror thing in....)
