What Are You Thinking?

It's 2016 and there's still people believing that shaving causes hair to get thicker and harder. Wow.

Gets especially annoying when my mom says it when she complains when it's time she gotta do her depilation. NO mom, that is totally false. How can you possibly believe that is beyond me, it's so obvious that it's BS, LOL take me for example. I've been shaving my beard for 7 years now, you do realize that if that was true, I should be shaving with a chainsaw right now? And dad? The only way for him would be using a lightsaber. Come on...

And no, gel doesn't have anything to do with losing hair either.

that's not quite how it works. It gets thicker as it grows. Shaving just makes the hair growing seem thicker by contrast but it's the same as whatever you just shaved off your face not the tip.

It's like this. My family has gotten white hair pretty early in life. I've had one or two white hairs since middle school. By the time I'm 40 or 45 I'll have a completely white mane, that's genetics. Stress and other factor do make a difference but ultimately it's down to genetics. Same for hair loss.

Just misread a link as "download sandwich" and got waaaaaay too excited. Like...how would it get here? What kind of sandwich? Why have I not done this before? Then I realized it was the stopwatch site I use to keep on track with writing and had a sad. Downloadable food would be awesome.

+ I've finally come to realize I only like Campbell's tomato soup when grilled cheese is being dunked into it....
++ A pet chicken would be cool. <3

I think you misunderstood, I was referring to the urban legend that every time you shave, hair grows back slightly thicker and harder than before the shaving, which is totally false.

I know that beards grow thicker as the individual ages, you don't generally see 14 years old teens sporting a 40 years old man beard. I meant the increase in thickness and hardness as a direct result of shaving. I'm really baffled that there are people who believe that.

Oh, I know. Like I said, the thickness of a beard, or hair in general, is determined by genetics. A Latino male or a Russian male is more likely to have thicker hair than an American male of any equal age. There are a few outside factors, like stress, shampoo or shaving cream, that might affect the hair's properties but it will be down to genetics.

The reason the myth exists is because lets say I'm a 12 year old who's growing a peach fuzz and I don't shave it for 1 month and I get this thin beard effect. Well, the hair is getting thicker as it grows so when I shave it the next batch of beard will look thicker but in reality it's only because the first stubble looked so thin, not because it was actually thinner. That's what I was trying to say. Thickness, like color pigmentation, are only really affected a trivial amount by outside influences, like hair products or the environment. If you want to know how thick a beard will be at a certain age all you need to do is look at your father and grandfather at those ages.

Style matters in combat.
Actual Devil May Cry related thoughts incoming.

I have this fake Katana sword I bought at a Halloween shop last year to play with (I know lol), and I'm thinking of customizing it with some paint to make it look like Vergil's Yamato. Just for fun. Wonder if acrylic paint will do?

Also, I may be putting together a Dante cosplay soon. A custom Dante that mixes both classic and reboot looks. I'll probably draw it up soon. I'm still gonna do DmC Dante though because of how much we look alike.

Hard as it's going to be to get back into FotS the longer I put it off, I think it's best that I focus on research and WoN revisions for now. Don't want to tire myself out before April even begins.

+I seriously need to jump a bunch of years, or just fill them in with mythical events in place of the less-eventful time periods.

++Is...is Spring here? :cautious:

Friend: I'm having such a headache.

Me: Take a pill then. It'll be over in a few mins.

Friend: No, I don't wanna take medicines.

Me: What? What do you mean, you don't take medicines? You won't be able to study jackshit with a headache.

Friend: No I don't take medicines man, period.

I always fail to understand the logic of that. The logic to prefer pain to medicines. Took my friend as an example but it's not the first person I've met to think like that, whether it is on the net or in real life.

What is it, the "MEDICINES ARE EEEEEVIIIIILLL" mentality? Masochism? I can't think of any other explanation.

The difference between medicine and poison is in the dose. Just wanted to get that out before I say that I too prefer to take no medicine if I can handle the pain, because medicine does come with side-effects, some could potentially mess you up even more than a bit of pain here and there.
Lots of water, maybe some chamomile tea and relaxing sleep works just as fine.

Whoa, doses? It's a single pill, LOL. Also his pain apparently wasn't just a little, and he needed his concetration to his max to study. I don't understand him.
