I dunno. I know last i heard from Itsuno is that he wants to make DMC5 and Dragon's Dogma 2 but than it all up to CEOs so both probably will never gonna be made.

Only time will tell, DD's future does look a bit uneasy (Especially if Deep Down manages to takes off.) But, during Capcom's last financial statement, they list six titles under their prirorty labeled "Powerful Titles."
Devil May Cry was among the six. :wink:

Maverick Hunter is the sign "THE SIGN" every Megaman fan needed to understand that Megaman is being worked on and experimented with. It does not matter if it was cancelled, it's media release was to tell fans that they haven't forgotten and are trying to bring us a new version of Megaman.
Street Fighter X Megaman is SUPPORTED by Capcom.
How can say you say true to Project X Zone's Megaman then go on to say Nintendo made Megaman in Smash 4? Capcom let Nintendo use Megaman because they know fans want him in. They want to give us as much Megaman as they possibly can until their next Megaman project is finished. Same goes for Dante.
Don't lose sight of the attempts from Capcom.

Capcom has pretty much killed my beloved blue bomber. MegaMan is more important than Devil May Cry as far as I'm concerned and extra cameo appearances in other games and Easter Eggs don't count. I want another full blown MegaMan game.
That Maverick Hunter seemed interesting. When I first heard about a FPS MegaMan I kinda rolled my eyes but I found out it was being developed by the same people who did the Metroid Prime games which were all great. It could have been something cool.
And Maverick Hunter would have only just introduced another version of MegaMan along side the others. Until then, I'll still be playing my MegaMan X for like the millionth time.

To you, cameos and easter eggs don't count. That doesn't matter, it's still the cold fact that they are using him in games all across the boards to prove that they haven't forgotten the series and are just as big of fans of the blue bomber than anyone. To be honest, Megaman has to be Capcom's mascot.
The problem I believe Capcom is facing is which Megaman are they going to use? The reason alot of those Megaman projects got cancelled. Is because they blew. They look good, yes, but they more than likely didn't play good enough for Capcom. That's usually why things get canned in the gaming business. So with that being a thought that crossed my mind several times, I appreciate Capcom doing the best that they can with Megaman.
Also, what ever happened to the appreciation that Megaman is being cameoed in games? How can you not be excited to once again play as any Megaman? I was so surprised when I heard Megaman was in Smash that I knew I had to purchase a Wii U for it. Seriously, if you can't accept a cameo from Megaman as filler until they're done with his solo game then you must be apart of the impatient whiny fanclub and you give gamers a bad reputation.
The people who should be impatient or whiny are the ones who have no idea if the company their character is in will ever see the light of day again. Those fans are justifiable.

It's a bad thing to say but, that's how I feel about people who can't accept something Megaman. That makes no sense, here you are playing as Megaman and yet you refuse to believe Capcom isn't doing anything with Megaman? That's not good enough evidence for you? You want Capcom to "hurry up" with a new Megaman game and alot of people don't even know where it should go. Capcom doesn't want to recycle Megaman or milk him if they got nothing new.
Why talk about milking something if you're trying to get something milked yourself? I just don't...
Chauncey understands where I'm coming from. Games have always taken time to make. I'm sick of waiting just like the rest of you, quite possibly more so. I was telling folks last year that I went on a Megaman X marathon and how much I hate that Megaman Legends costs 200 dollars nowadays. I just want everyone to realize, Megaman is still active whether you see him on your console or not. It doesn't matter, he's still somewhere.

One thing I'd like to say about this reboot that I really feel makes more sense as a reasoning behind 'Westernizing' the series. Is that the transition of tone wasn't "East to West" it was "Animated to not animated"
I really only noticed this after a long time bitching about how Deadpool hasn't gotten his animated portrayal
There was gonna be a movie based on the reboot. so chances are they probably made it more like live-action to better adapt because the theatrical market seems to hate animation centered towards adults? So why like this?
Well, let me explain to you with two Western pieces of media, using the most famous example of a source material change, Superman's Super-dick-concealer
Note: when you look at the Animated one, the underwear doesn't really get in the way, he is still able to be taken seriously, and with good reason, he looks ****ing awesome.
Thats the beauty of animation. It allows for over-the-top action and crazy character design, that can be taken seriously. In terms of something with a story like Devil May Cry, that's what you want, because it would be a freaking billion dollar budget to make it believable in live-action
Keep in mind though, they were trying to make a movie of the series. Due to the General Audience being as uncultured and close-minded as a pile of afterbirth. They tend to not go see animated movies.
I know what you're thinking, "But Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks-"
Have ****ing track records
While their movies are great, there is one thing you have to note about all 3, even though they aren't just something you use to shut your kids the hell up. That's what they started as (And all the sequels ****ing suck except
Toy Story.)
Now just as a failsafe for an argument I know is coming up. That they said Dante's personality couldn't have been taken seriously
This is Deadpool, a superhero whose popularity is growing due to his hilarious personality and various antics. Personality wise, he's one of the most whacky mainstream heroes to date. Most people who haven't read his comics enough, tend to think he's a character who completely lacks any ability to be taken seriously

I rest my case. For the most part, Deadpool is never serious, but the thing is, there are moments when every character realizes play time is over, and breaks away from their happy go lucky self. Provided the audience has had the time to realize how and why the character became serious, it isn't out of character if enough traits still show.
You can't show the serious side to a character as quick witted and non-chalant as original Dante IN THE SPAN OF 2 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES, and expect it to be taken seriously
