Three reviewers talk about DmC

I've never said anything like that just answering your question, but to say DMC copied other forms of entertainment while DmC was original is very unfair, and i know it wasn't you who said that.

Yeah I understand, and I didn't mean to say that you were one of those people who acted like that.

Um no, DmC isn't THAT original. DmC was said to get inspiration from They Live, Inception, Fight Club, Rebel without a cause, a bit of Nolan's Dark Knight, and other things.

DmC is a unique Devil May Cry, but it's not original.
I was talking about mainly the possessed architecture in Limbo mainly. Limbo's world that is like a demon all its own. How does it get inspiration from Nolan's Batman? I can see They Live and Fight Club but Nolan's Batman? How?

If Devil May Cry was real.

If Devil May Cry was real.
I get sick of everything that goes in to more realistic or darker is suddenly compared to Nolan's Batman. That's like everything in the medieval fantasy genre that's suddenly always compared to Tolkien's work. Nolan wasn't the first one to do this nor is he the last. He also didn't coin this transition franchises may take. While I also really enjoy Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (ehh, Rises was dissapointing) Nolan's Batman world is not my favorite and quite frankly I don't like it that much. That being said, I'm also with so many people who say The Dark Knight was amazing because it was a fantastic film. I just don't like the world and Batman that is established in the Dark Knight trilogy as much as Grant Morrison's interpretation because to me Grant is like the father of Batman and the perfect Batman is in the work he does. I doubt Nolan even reads comic books.

I see that both sides hoped for what they wanted to hear...

Both sides didn't get what they wanted to hear.

I still lean on the side of rip off.Let's go through the similarities shall we.
-Two brothers ,with white hair no less, are half demons (could add their color scheme for apparel too but whatever)
-One is very brash and punk like while the other is regal.
-They both have special swords forged from their father specifically given to them.
-Their father was a demonic protector.
-One shares empathy for humans while the other embraces his demonic heritage and believes he is superior because of it.
-Their Parents are dead! *slap*
If I remember correctly their confrontations also sort of mirror scenes from that show but whatever. Devil May Cry really took a lot from that series pretty much shamelessly so I will just safely say rip off and call it a day. DMC always took a lot from cartoons. Dante himself was Alucard and Cobra if they did a little fusion or something. DmC has the most distinct and original identity in the series. That mainly accounts for just the world that was created. Limbo was so awesome. I wish there was some more exploration because I wanted to explore more of Limbo. It's really cool and more interesting to look at than the previous DMC world that has levels that can fit just as well in a Castlevania game.
actually they're half-brothers Inuyasha is half human, while Sesshomaru is full demon
-that is why he was given a sword that can only restore life to the dead(and can kill the undead)
-Sesshomaru's mother is still alive

Oh well that changes things…by a bit.

Well I enjoyed watching that video and listening to those three reviewers discuss the game, fairly. And I don't really care what anybody else says, especially if anyone even so much as dares pull that true fan stunt again.
Fairly? So when we compare this game to previous DMCs, it is unfair?
Just because the original DMC is better, does not mean this has an excuse for not living up to it.

this, when people say "they are basing this comparison off of only the first game therefore their opinion sucks" they are basically saying, these reviewers aren't true fans

I think it's all fair game to compare everything together however I don't think it's bad if they are just basing their opinion off the first game either.

I'm not saying you do this but when I have compared DmC to DMC before to point out reasons why I prefer the reboot, people tell me that it's not fair to point out faults of the classic verse and compare them together. Than in other threads I see the same exact people who like the classic DMC's more compare the reboot to the classics as to why they think the reboot sucks :/. Sooooo which is it? it can't be alright just for some posters to do that? can it?

Just because the original DMC is better, does not mean this has an excuse for not living up to it.
Opinions, opinions, opinions; you know what they say about those right? ;)

They're not comparing for the sake of douching all over it like a bunch of children. That's what I mean by fairly.

And don't consider pushing this argument further, I'm past arguing over a damn video game.

They just want to hear what they want to hear and that's bashing the game they don't like. Because over 2 years complaining about it isn't enough.

Just analyze this for a sec, after Adam Sessler gave the game a 3 out of 5 the a lot of DMC fans were ready to basically marry the guy. The other reviewer they all flocked too was Angry Joe because he bashed Dante's appearance severely. Suddenly because Adam isn't bashing the game and they're just all fairly exchanging opinions the comments are now filled with hate of them suddenly and evidently Adam doesn't know what he's talking about. The purist opinions on DMC are the only thing they truly think are facts and if anyone says any different it's taboo. Adam is being hated on. Then look at Angry Joe.

Angry Joe gave Metal Gear Rising the same exact score as DmC and you can just read the comments on youtube, a lot of them now suddenly hate Joe. This fanbase is just ridiculous and they need to get over themselves.
