The Truth Around Lilith's Death *spoilers*

If he really wanted to kill her secretly, indirectly, he could have planted a bomb on her and detonated it when she got to the other side. Now that would have been a shock. Lilith chunks go flying everywhere. >_<

Well that's kinda what i'm saying really, Vergil has been fighting a war of deception with Mundus, Mundus using various methods of deception to gain power in the human world while Vergil is allowing Mundus to think that there's only one son of Sparda while at the same time trying to bring Mundus down.

You'd think that a man who is so used to fighting and using deception would display it more often rather then just shooting a gun out in the open.

It's to keep you all on your toes while i laugh manically as you try to figure how serious i'm actually being.

I'm not saying he should have cut her up with Yamato though by the way, he literally could have killed her a ton of different ways even if the rifle was the easiest way to do it, he still could have done it in a way that would have avoided suspicion, maybe not from Mundus but from Dante who was clearly was against it.

That shadow power Vergil has? It can clearly act independtly from Vergil so why not have him screw around with the SWAT van? Make it look like an accident perhaps? You make Vergil seem really sinister and really seperates him from Dante himself.

I mean that's just off the top of my head, i'm sure there's even better ways to go about it.

Well, maybe the writers just wanted to keep vergil's abilities a surprise for the last fight?

they never attempted to be edgy or cool, they just used a satire of the real world that we live in, and idk if you've been outside lately, but cursing is a part of our society, especially to those who we dislike, but of course its completely far fetched to dislike the people who ripped your mother's heart out right?

Edgy: "having a bold, provocative, or unconventional quality <an edgy film>"

DmC's story is the definition of trying to be "edgy". From showing Dante having a three way with prostitutes and having numerous ass shots in the opening to showing Lilith's womb exploding into "Little wet chunks". Almost everyone has some kind of abusive upbringing as a backstory, Kat gets tortured, civilians are shown to be executed right in front of you, you watch Poison's head get crushed and chopped up in a massive fan, you fight Mundus' unborn baby which is still attached to Lilith by the umbilical cord, you get dramatic close ups of Dante after he finishes slaughtering demons... I can go on and on. The game is in no way subtle about it's themes of anti-establishment, anti-consumerism, and anti-capitalism (gotta fight the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right?). They, for no apparent reason, feel the need to show Lilith taking it in the butt from Mundus for a good 20 seconds after already showing Dante getting a three way from prostitutes. And this isn't even getting into the satire found within the game (demons run the government; corporations want you fat, weak, and stupid; the Bill O' Reily and Fox news stuff; the fact that the game is "About how bad America has gotten"; etc). Again, DmC is the definition of trying to be edgy. It has nothing to do with the swearing, which I never brought up.

And all of this is fine and you are fine to like it. To me, it came across as juvenile as all of this stuff combined (yes, now I'll talk about the swearing since you brought it up anyway) with the gratuitous amount of swearing (even the walls scream "F*** YOU DANTE") happened in the span of less than an hour and a half (DmC actually doesn't have that many cutscenes). It was just a constant barrage of stuff added in for shock value that contributed little to the experience and had me rolling my eyes over half the time. Swearing is fine. Swearing like you are an 8 year old who just discovered that F***, S***, etc. are bad words and saying them is funny to you is just plain irritating.

i agree completely but bare in mind, if DMC3 vergil was told "hey this unborn baby stands between you and your goal". he'd dice them both up into a bloody cloud in a heart beat
Plus when Vergil had used Arkham as much as he could, Vergil didn't hesitate to stab him and I think also told him to shut up?:/ But I can understand why he killed Arkham. That guy was so annoying. Vergil only went with him for as long as he was useful, but the breaking point was Vergil seeing Arkham as weak because he would not confront Lady.

That's why you be subtle about it instead, during the cutscene you see a shadowy figure you can't make out (and can only spot if you're paying attention) can be seen near the van, after the exchange the van drives away and then suddenly it explodes and admist Dante and Kat's confusion you see a wicked little smirk on Vergil's face.

Personally? I think that would be a greater establishing moment for Vergil then anything in the game.

The other thing with that moment is that he takes the first shot, then we see him watching for a few seconds? Is he enjoying it? Or is he waiting to see what will happen? :/

Nah I agree, they could really treat Vergil's character better in this moments.

He is like "****, I don't think that was the best ideia."
But then you see that he quickly changes his mind about that.

Damn it, forgot to use the edit before, sorry for the double post.

That's what I thought, too when I saw that look on his face. Looked like he was orgasming or something. Lol

I always felt that Dante risking life and limb for humanity and friend's no matter how childish, unrefined, arrogant, guns or no guns... had the real honor, he's always had it. If some guy prefers gutting me because he thinks it's dishonorable to use guns or is hellbent on sacrificing others to achieve his goals than I think that just makes him an ass.

That said, I still think both Vergils are sexy beasts but thats because I'm slightly deranged and love cold hearted bad boys

-threesome=since when has having threesomes made you edgy, i have had a threesome before in my life does that make me edgy, hell no, and who's to say that the old one didn't do the same thing, he talks about partying all the time and several beer bottles are scattered in his office.
-at what point do we actually see lilith's womb explode, they never actually show her womb after it was shot so once again no
-so every single woman that has taken abuse is edgy? -_- wow great logic
-so every game that has a shot of civilians being executed is edgy, guess metal gear solid 4 is edgy, and so is call of duty and crysis -_-
-so gratuitous violence in a M rated game is edgy, so poison's head being crushed by a fan is edgy but vergil chopping beowolf's head into four pieces in a matter of seconds and slicing up demons and stabbing arkam is edgy? how about the intro to the anime where we get a close up of dante shooting a demon in the face, is that edgy?
-so showing two people having sex is edgy too? guess survival island and lost were edgy, and so is mass effect and ESPECIALLY the witcher 2
-gratuitous amount of swearing, dante in this game curses about as often as he does in the anime -_-

Go through the trouble of trying to figure out a way he can secretly use his magic to secretly kill her and maybe risk getting found out or get it over with using a gun so that there isn't a single chance no one would suspect he isn't human. Tell me what sounds like the more logical thing to do if you were in Vergil's shoes?

You just want to see Vergil be exactly like he was in 3. Simple as that so quit beating around this bush with this nonsense your babbling. Vergil previously was full of sh!t with his whole honor thing. The dude just likes swords ok. What makes you think the only way you're considered a warrior is if you wield swords? There is much more to the way of the warrior than using a sword. Just look at all the different cultures around. Even though Vergil carries a Katana it was not as black and white as Vergil's views make it seem. From Bushido to Chivalry there is so much more to this entire concept. I research this sh!t just for fun because I always dug history on warriors and their ways of life. Well, I'm sort of a history buff in general. It was my favorite subject in school and I'm actually studying to be a history teacher.

Vergil just dug swords. That's pretty much it. You just want to see that Vergil. I never liked Vergil at all because he was such a boring villain. There are LOTS of villains who put him to shame. DmC had a Vergil I liked because at least he had personality and wasn't just there for the sake of being a boss fight basically.

I don't blame Dante for having a threesome. Have you ever had a threesome? It's awesome. I enjoyed it. I guess that makes me "edgy" then.

You know what? No, you're being an ass, go away. I talk about a Vergil that uses deception and underhanded tactics in an example i come up with off the top of my head, something that implies that it was in no way how i felt it should actually go down and you call me out on being a DMC3 fanboy? No seriously. Go away. You're an idiot.
