The Truth Around Lilith's Death *spoilers*

Well, since I have a very dark sense of humor, I found that scene funny..mostly because I hated her from the beginning.
Oww, don't say that. You'll make her upset:lol:

Let's take this into consideration.

No matter your moral standing, this scene was made not only to give leverage for the two brothers in their fight against demon king, Mundus, but also to show us a side of Vergil we haven't seen yet.
Dante pitied Lilith, but didn't kill her or the spawn because it would be cruel.
He wanted to save Kat, but also show Mundus he isn't inhumane.

But, during the trade, Vergil shoots the spawn as well as Lilith, and risking Kat in the process. I'm sure that if Dante were not there, Kat would be dead and it would have no bearing on Vergil.
That's because Vergil is intent for the throne. Power! That was the scene's true purpose!

I also sense you are being joyfully non-sarcastic here too. XD

~hands over a sundae~ I likes you, you get a follow

It's to keep you all on your toes while i laugh manically as you try to figure how serious i'm actually being.

I'm not saying he should have cut her up with Yamato though by the way, he literally could have killed her a ton of different ways even if the rifle was the easiest way to do it, he still could have done it in a way that would have avoided suspicion, maybe not from Mundus but from Dante who was clearly was against it.

That shadow power Vergil has? It can clearly act independtly from Vergil so why not have him screw around with the SWAT van? Make it look like an accident perhaps? You make Vergil seem really sinister and really seperates him from Dante himself.

I mean that's just off the top of my head, i'm sure there's even better ways to go about it.

Vergil was also trying to keep it a secret that he's basically a superhero. Using a gun was the best way to go about it. A big bell would go off if this "human" pulled some superpowered sh!t on these dudes.

It's true. >:L she's a meany head.
I wonder if there is a censor version of Mundus going "You don't dilly dally with a god."
Like Ned Flanders?
'You killed my child...okilly dokily, have a nice day!'

I thought Mundus' reaction was a bit odd. He looks away at the point Lilith is shot, more like he's disappointed, more than upset. He's angry, but he's not saying 'how dare you kill my child!', he's more concerned about his image, more like 'how dare you pull one over one me and make me look weak!'. I don't think he destroys the city out of grief, but more anger that the plan he thought was foolproof had just gone terribly wrong and resulted in him looking vulnerable as the child is an extension of him. If it can be killed, what if it gives others an idea to take out Mundus.

"I AM MUNDUS"
"you're a big smelly willy."
And yeah he does seem to do that, to me after Mission 15 the rest of the missions felt rushed and weird.

That wouldn't matter if they didn't see it now would they? As i said it would help differentiate Dante and Vergil in that game if Vergil is revealed to have been doing things in an indirect way.

Dante smashes your face in and Vergil causes... "accidents" to happen.

If he really wanted to kill her secretly, indirectly, he could have planted a bomb on her and detonated it when she got to the other side. Now that would have been a shock. Lilith chunks go flying everywhere. >_<

I don't know, from the way Vergil coldly disregards Kat previously I thought it was pretty in character but that's just my opinion.
It's more the fact that, as AngryJoe said, Vergil lacked HONOR in this game, something that was VITAL to his original character.

That's my kind of rain... :troll:
"Vergil got Achievement! "This is my kind'a rain....eeeewwwwww!!!!"

...no it wasn't. He saw anyone and everyone as mere means to an end, would stab enemies when they were down, and had no respect for even his own "code". In fact, NEVER was Vergil said to be honorable, fans assumed that because he carries a katana and he just doesn't like guns.
