Honestly, accepting someone's money and then vanishing for months and ignoring all attempts to check in on you (despite that the last news your friend heard from you was that your aunt was possibly dying) while bragging on social media about how much fun you're having with your new friends and how you're ignoring all your texts because you "don't want to deal with your family's bs" (despite the fact that your friend is also aware you check in with your family almost daily) is...uh...pretty f***ed up way to treat a several-year-long friendship for no reason.

You shouldn't wish for global warming. When it happens, you'll be surprised by the weather. For example, just a few days ago, there was a strom in my area. THAT storm had thunder and lightning strikes which killed...

- A few TV's, including a TV we just bought during Black Friday - 65' inch.

Sooo... we have to replace them. Especially my PC.
That's a bit odd for a few reasons. January in my area is usually cold, and switches into hot days, so when a storm comes in, its practically global warming.

They're building up a new political party here.
They explicitly state that:
- they want to build a nation state where relations between citizens are determined by their ethnicity and race
- they want to criminalize "slandering Finland and Finnish people" and ban any "news and media content that could harmfully affect the citizen's opinions"
- they want to ban any other religion than Protestant Christian from being shown in any public space, including that they will ban mosques, minarets etc, and that no religion will be granted exemption from military service
- they want to take all residence permits and granted citizenships from 1990-present into reprocessing
- they want to ban abortion
- they want to ban hormonal birth control from any female who is not married with a man
- they want to offer "freetime activities" for people in all life stages – these activities include military and/or educational objectives, and participating in them is a compulsory civil duty
- and, overall, "Finnish bloodlines are to be preserved and protected from any foreign blood or ethnical damage"

We have similar here. Except the party already exists, but the party has become something else.
In the U.S., we have 2 [ahem; major] political parties. Democrats and Republicans. Democrats loves extreme regulations, almost communistic. Republicans are mostly tax deregulation, and more business friendly.
Right now the house of representatives (a.k.a. congress) is 90% controlled by the Democrats. Now, this is where the scary part comes in: The democratic party is currently 80% Socialist. There are still some moderates, but for the most part, the Democrats are acting in cahoots with China. We have been subverted all the way up to the highest ranking members of congress. Hell, Hunter and Joe Biden made deals with Ukraine, and later China. Just recently, China sent troops to Taiwan to test Joe Biden, who is our current president. He ain't doing ****.
They want to control the country, and the media isn't reporting it, because they know, if they had... Capitol Building? Looks like a sleepy "insurrection."
I've already seen the first signs of turmoil in the first 3 days of Biden presidency. He relaxed the border security that Trump put into place. He re-entered the stupid, costly paris agreement. He is introducing a more cagey Capitol Building.
I'm more worried about what's coming next. Because in California, Socialism is widespread, that they're setting up California to be an independent state, to be compatible with China's idealistic communist takeover. Basically, Gavin Newsom is bending his ass for China.
Gavin plans to buy all foreclosures. Guess why. To sell them all to China's nationalists. This idea is going to spread into other states unless government and people stand up to the CCP.

US news, NOR news and UK news says its declining in covid cases. It sounds like some good news. Still long way to go. 1 year self-set 24-7 curfew. I'm used to being alone home coping but now 1 year without anything at all. It's a test alright. How to cope cope cope. Don't get angry now. Take a deep breath and drink your coffe. Chill and take the challenge. Ugh, I need some fresh air...

Birthdays are a joyous occasion among my family, where we usually eat together, either at some family lunch gathering or at a nice restaurant.

I know what you mean, man. I'm also turning 30 next month and won't be able to celebrate it with any of my family.
My nephew turns 20 in a few days and we're basically just going to game together all day and chat over the headset.

I'm happy to say it seems like it's the total goofball.
In Finland, to build a new political party, the party needs to collect support notes from at least 5 000 citizens. This party in question started collecting them already.
The bad news for them is that by law, every political party has to get a written approval for their party from the Ministry of Justice before they can collect support notes. This party hasn't got that approval yet.
So... All the support notes they already got... are invalid.
No worries. They're getting nowhere with this.
Except that now some HC supporters are furious because "the government is intentionally hindering their goals", even though the law applies to every political party in Finland... Well, I guess it goes pretty much with the famous "My mom works as a secretary and told me you're a criminal, so watch out, you're getting into jail for this, and there's no chance you'd know better than me even though you're actually studying law". So it's nothing to be taken seriously anyway. It's just intimidating and trying to act like they had something to play with... It falls apart before they are able to make any plans about anything.

Got my middle son's high school place awarded today.
It's not the school we wanted. In fact, it's the school we stated, very vocally (and in writing), that we definiely DO NOT want him to attend. It's an utterly unsuitable placement. His current school took 8 years to get him to where he is now - this new school is going to undo all that hard work. It's more suited to high-functioning kids with behavioural issues. Jake is low-functioning and does not have a behavioural disorder. He has learning disabilities. The school we wanted was ideal with lots of staff, tiny classes and plenty of extracurricular activities to help enrich our son's learning experience.
But thanks to the powers that be, the school that would have taken him were told to downsize and so everyone who applied outside of the primary school feeders was rejected. I know we're not the only hacked off parents today.
The biggest joke is the "appeal process". Precisely how can you appeal when there is no possibility of a place being magically made available? It's an exercise in futility.
The school has precisely ONE shot at doing an outstanding job with my son. And then I'm pulling the plug. I'll homeschool if I have to, but I'm not having him regress because they can't take care of him properly.
I have alternated between being incredibly angry and crying today. Today has sucked.
