Ninja Theory Isn’t Working on Anything Else DmC Related, “Nor is Anything Planned”

That being said I think the best option is for Capcom to finish the story they started with DMC4. We'll see how popular the series is with DMC5. If theres a lack of interest in the style of DMC4 story, which I feel there would be, they have the option of turning back to DmC. I think the problem with Capcom was that they didn't want to continue DMC4's story, but they didn't know how to accomodate the fans who actually enjoyed DMC4.

If we talk sales, considering how stellar were sales of DmC: DE it surely shown how deep people care for it, so If DMC5 announced, don't think anybody would really surprised

I haven't actually seen the sales list, but if the word is "stellar" then chances are most didn't buy the original, and this is DMC3:SE all over again.
I remember the sales of the initial version didn't meet Capcoms standards until after the price drop (even then, it was a lowered standard by like 2 million, I remember constantly rubbing that everyones face in every sales thread to see how you would all react)
It would make sense, considering most of us expected the game to be terrible,
It turned out good, so we all bought the improved version. (Though I bought 2 copies of the original version because my sister broke the first disc because I drank her milkshake)
So.. Exactly DMC3:SE all over again. So all things considered... DmC2 is possible considering the SE of 3 caused 4 to happen

Except DE bombed with 10 000 upon release and highly doubtful reach million sold by DMC3: SE. And who exactly we all? Im fed up with original version so wouldn't care if tomorrow we get a news DmC2 hit the fan like MGR did.

While I was expecting this, it still saddens me to hear it.
I'll stay hopeful that one day we might see the continuation of DmC.
Until then I'll look forward to Ninja Theory's next game.

but you said stellar and... Oh wait you were being sarcastic, granted, I didn't buy the DE either so I shoulda seen dat coming

The Definitive Edition sold 76k in its first week and is now over 100k. We found this out from GregaMan a while back in a thread.

Thats actually not bad you know. Not its not stellar, but its not bad. Besides we don't know how much the HD collection sold, so DmC might have done about the same or even more than the HD collection.

Didn't HD collection sell over 700k? I remember reading it somewhere.

According to Vgcharts 800.000. Which makes DmC: DE sales pretty sad sight.

No, actually thats pretty sad. It's just shows that nobody willing to pay 40 bucks for recently released game with small instal base. Considering it got outsold by Bayonetta 2 one one console with small instal base in first place, makes it even worse. So good luck to those waiting for it to hit 1 mil. mark.

Meh, not much a concern for me about who sold more. I just care about the content within it is all.

Still, one can only hope that Capcom would do both at some point.

Just ignore the sales numbers we were told by our fellow inside man then. *shrugs* And the 1.7 mil already sold when it came to the original version. Ya know, because that's evidently a sad "bomb". *rolls eyes*

I'm with Dragon though, I don't give a flying frick about sales because that doesn't speak for quality.

You keep coming up with that argument every time the possibility of a sequel, not the quality of a game, is discussed.

That argument is totally irrelevant within such a discussion and doesn't have anything to do with it, because while it's true that high sales =/= high quality, it's also true that sales are generally a major deciding factor when it comes to the odds of a game getting a sequel. Which is the matter being discussed here.

Therefore, a counter-argument to yours might be that companies don't give a flying frick about sales not speaking for quality. A majority of them at least.

I'm open for a sequel to either version, as long as it's good. At this point, I just hope Devil May Cry continues at all.

I don't think it won't continue. Maybe it will take a while though.

As for what I personally want, wrap up the original saga first, make at least another game, then move on continueing DmC, which is still an open path to take, though a very risky one at this point in time. By properly wrapping up the original saga, Capcom wouldn't risk angry fans' backlash on focusing on DmC.

Innsmouth, we get that you love the classics and have low views on DmC, but can you please stop slandering it? We all know that DmC is different and considered 'easier' (Capcom and Ninja Theory made it to be more accessable then just getting torn to shreds within seconds in the classics *Looking at Devil May Cry 3 here*. Perhaps DmC will grow over time and bring in enough to get a sequel, there's no need to try burning down peoples hopes for the next adventure the Nephilim twins and the Witch.

He's not slandering. It's just his opinion on it, and everyone's entitled to their opinion on a game. I talk a lot of smack about DMC4 but that doesn't mean I do it to make everyone else agree, but because I just don't like it is all.
