Ninja Theory Isn’t Working on Anything Else DmC Related, “Nor is Anything Planned”

this was always a possibility and it just confirms what we all thought was gonna happen.

It is a sad reality but its something you can get back from easily because there are always gonna be some new story that'd catch your eye and you'd bounce back.

It will never be the end of the world guys.

Before the mudslinging starts and people pick sides I would like to remind everyone that even if DmC2 was announced, there probably wouldn't be a DMC5. Even if they wanted to alternate between the two, you'd still have to wait XYZ amount of years anyway and there is no guarantee they wouldn't change their minds and move on to something else.

So please lets have a little empathy and restraint ok?

If Ninja Theory isn't working on it, that doesn't mean the chance of a DmC2 are completely gone. They said it themselves: it isn't their IP. Capcom could always just hire a different dev team to work on it. They've done that with practically every franchise they own, including Devil May Cry.

But, hey...at least we have a 100% confirmation of DMC5---

Oh...

Wait...

Well I'm not too upset over it though. I guess I'll just have to hope and pray that the next Devil May Cry does good and learns from the past mistakes of DMC4 (I don't say the mistakes of DmC since it's not a DmC2 that's rumored to be coming)

This tells us with absolutely no clear certainty that Ninja Theory won't make a DmC 2. The guy just states that they have no plans to make a sequel and it isn't their IP. That doesn't mean that things can't change in the future if they think a DmC 2 is necessary.

I'm sorry but I thought one of the whole points of creating DmC was to try to appeal to some people who might not have ever played Devil May Cry. And for some DmC was what introduced them to Devil May Cry, we have members here that say DmC is their favorite/only game in the series they've played.

Everybody wants to jump up and down and scream about how DmC didn't need to continue anyway because they either didn't like it or they didn't think the "reboot" was necessary.

You're allowed to express your opinion on this and I don't have the right to say otherwise. I will just make one thing clear, however. You might be pleased at the idea of no DmC 2, but remember something. There are others who might be disappointed to hear this news that would rather not have to hear the cries of joy or the sighs of relief from some of you.

There's another way of looking at this. How would you feel instead if the news was 'DmC 2 to be developed. No DMC 5 on the horizon?'. There would be an explosion of rage and the only ones heard would drown out any voice that wanted a DmC 2. This works both ways, so remember that.

Personally I don't care if they make it or not. It's empty space for me anyway. If they make it I won't play and won't care either way. IF they make it, fine for fans, but I won't gain anything from it. But if making DmC2 means we won't see DMC5, I rather see it dead in the water than replacing my favourite franchise.

Interesting, I must say that this raises my hopes for a DMC5 but it is a shame for those that love DmC. As others have said this doesn't mean that DmC is dead but it certainly looks that was as Capcom wants money and the original series will get them more of it.

This thread can only end in so many ways, and all of them are hilarious.

You don't know Randomlulz
Reference point from when we were discussing what did and didn't qualify as blatantly insulting the game instead of criticizing it
OOH OOH OOH! LET ME TRY!, New Dante is a pile of putrid **** who lets strangers watch him cut himself for money, his breath reeks of a mixture of semen and unspeakable things from the inside of a pig, and he is Hitlers little bundle of joy.

To be honest, I didn't care for DMC, if there is any new Devil May Cry, It better be by Capcom and continue the story of Nero and Dante, rather than the scrambled story of DmC

How was it scrambled? Demon ruled world, Dante and others fight demons, demons in real world, Vergil new demon king.

You can't call DmC scrambled if the plot was practically laid out. Plus it was only one game. Not like DMC with four games of holes still needing to be filled.

Hm, Well "Scrambled" wasn't the right word for the game. Just out of placed.

The story of Nero and Dante isn't really following the story of the original Devil May Cry, so even if DMC5 continues it won't be a contination of the orignal game. It will be a continution of the Nero and Kyrie story that started with DMC4.

So I'm not sure how fans such as myself who prefferred DMC1 to the sequels benefit from DMC4 continuing. Its not the same Devil May Cry that was started with DMC1. If Capcom continue DMC4, it won't be a continuation of the original Devil May Cry, it will be their own thing which they started with DMC4, which alientated a lot of fans in its own right.

I also think Bayonetta 2 is an okay game, I woulnd't really want Platinum Games involed, since don't think Bayonetta 2 is even that good, with Metal Gear Rising recieving polorising reviews itself.

At the same time DmC's story was above average. I was expecting a lot better from Ninja Theory after Enslaved and Heavenly Sword. Although they did admit that Capcom toned down the game to accomodate the Japanese auidence.
