General DMC 5 Discussion

wow way to make people not wanna get an S rank capcom, i got no problem with metal but that was mixing was trash, personally I would've went with lamb of god or shoootie hg which is what they should've went with to begin with
 
Lots and lots of boos from the peanut gallery. While I don’t love it I certainly don’t hate it to the levels I’m seeing. In fact, I find this level of disdain rather disproportionate.
 
Ugh, it's like they looked at the more screamy bits of 3's OST and thought "How can we top that?"

dont get me wrong the instrumentals are pretty good its the vocals that kill me, plus it doesnt help that this band has a pretty bad reputation, from insulting fans, breaking their gear mid concert etc
 
I prefer something more melodic, rather than screams of diarhea ill guy standing in giant queue...or does he has some kind of anger problems.
 
Laying it out straight, screeching lyrics is the stupidest thing we've ever allowed to continue in music. It takes no musical talent; makes most lyrics indiscernible (not that those lyrics sounded good anyway); and ruins otherwise listenable instrumental performances. Even as much as I enjoyed Aggretsuko, I absolutely hated the vocal style she used. I can stand and accept quite a lot when it comes to music, but I can never stand this. Even worse is that I literally cannot avoid it like I would country or rap or any other kind of music I don't care for. My only recourse is to turn off Dante's music entirely.

I feel bad that they got a band to do this, because it's probably pretty exciting to be part of a video game OST, but now they're going to hear a ton of crap from a group that has zero interest in their music, because the tastes just don't jive. I'd put this on whoever decided it was a good idea to let a dude screech out words amidst an, arguably, pretty good instrumental track.
 
Haha, in the beginning I was like "oh come on , this isn't that bad." And then the vocals started. Yeah, not a fan. What kind of amuses me is that I love Devil Trigger and that song isn't typically something I would enjoy. So I was expecting to really enjoy a heavier ditty for Dante.
 
Oh lord no. Just no. The melodic beginning was epic until he started screaming....
Hopefully I won't notice the music too much whilst playing though.
 
I'm sorry, but I can't give less damn about Resetera's whining and screeching (it pretty much the only reason this toxic dump exists), but holy damn, I don't fathom, why capcom won't hire some professional music designer, to pick right songs. Even Tim Shafer done much better job in Brutal Legend. But oh well, not much we can change, so have to deal with it .

I have to say, I haven't seen a reaction that explosive since DmC's. That was down right hateful. In less than 4 hours there was a full investigation of the band digging up any previous indiscretions and demanding apologies for them from everyone irrelevant of involvement, at least one petition to have it completely removed from the game with a few threats claiming refusal to purchase, dozens of memes and lots and lots of angry comments from all corners of the internet. Wow. All over a mediocre song. It wasn't even that bad. Good? No, not really. But 'remove it or we'll riot' bad? Sweet lord, this is going to go down in the franchise's history as another low point.

it shouldnt of been taken down just edited it better cuz the instrumentals are awesome but sometimes inaudible with the vocals and digging up info on the bands past is childish and he probably apologized for it, sucks that this might be delayed, the trailer i mean

Let's be honest. This is nothing like DmC. At least, I didn't happen to come across anything very harsh, mostly just variations of "I don't like this," "this doesn't sound good," and "this doesn't fit at all," and like...a handful of "LMAO." However, I'm not quite sure it's exactly "digging up dirt" when you all it takes is a google search based entirely around wanting to know more about the band that will obviously bring up the controversy wit their singer.

I think it's wrong to demand an apology from Capcom because in no way does this warrant one, least of all from them. People talking about not wanting to purchase it...well I guess that does fall into the realm of DmC, but I didn't expect them to do anything about it. I would have figured we'd just have to stick with it like any other decision the devs make.
