They can if they wanna, i'm still going to standby what i've said.
In the original DevilMayCry the characters Dante, Vergil, Trish, Nero, & so-on came across as much more than human.
Here Cosplay Dante, CosplayVergil & so-on seem only slightly above human.
Therefore anything really demonic, angelic or mix of the two would seem far to overpowered for this character & game, so i'd save it for an over the top DevilMayCry 5.
I think of EmoMayCry's characters as your character in DarkSouls/Demon'Souls, Dante's inferno.
An average human with slightly above average abilities taking on very powerful creatures.
A God like devil trigger wouldn't fit well into it.
That was the direction NT wanted to take though. As you put Dante, Vergil, Trish and friends all had that ....out of reality touch. This new DmC has real world themes within it that we, as humans in todays society, can relate.
It's not supposed to be a cosplay Dante but a "what if Dante was the son of an Angel and Demon but living in a cosmopolitan city in a crap-shack wearing vest and jeans with a coat"? He
is someone you could find out on the street. Compared to Vergil who has the upper-class look who is well mannered and presents himself with class. This works with the current theme of the game; that we have been enslaved by bankers and are constantly being surveilled by cameras. Vergil and The Order is clearly on the same level of Anonymous. I'm sure that's what everyone was thinking when they saw
that trailer and heard
that dialogue. It's a more ground-in-reality type game that we can relate but again is also DMC by having demons with chainsaws come after you. Having DmCs theme with happy-people like DMC4 wouldn't fit. So you have to create characters that reflect the situation. Vergil being the one to address the corruption and Dante being the little guy being called a terrorist.
That's just how I see it. Far from EmoMayCry but this is a reboot to be viewed from a "What-if" angle, rather than "this is the next step". The entire DMC(1-4) series in general is a "what-if" scenario of Dante Aligheris 'A Divine Comedy'
Capcom: What is we took the names of Dante, Vergil, Nelo Angelo etc and made them into badarse dudes with hair, swift attacks and stylish moves?
NT: What if we took the names of Dante, Vergil and Mundus but modernised A Divine Comedy/DMC to reflect our own society?
VisceralGames: What if we took Dante and have him kill Death(I know...). Virgil is who guides and narrates the story while Dante is saving Beatrice from Lucifer
Having said that, this is still a DMC game and we should have some of the leftovers like taunting. The main point of DMC is the combat, but NT have given us a story that we can actually get invested in. I don't think it's right that combat has been watered down but in the area that lacks it's been made up for in story. DmC still has a lot of potential on release with the weapons and new tech we'll all find.
Edit: Oh and damn right about stating your point regardless of who gets offended, geez.
