There is a Pro-Nero club (in General Discussion) started by The Dark Knight, if that helps :D
 
Now, my hatred for Nero has certainly diminished as of late. (I refused to be classified as a fanboy in any way or form)

But I still have a general dislike of him, you see, my problem isn't with the actual character, more with the fact that Capcom took something that was already VERY good and tried to add something to it, why is it that when developers have something good going, they try to add something else and manage to mess it up completely?

To quote Yahtzee: "Gluing things on to something that's already good rarely makes the coveted lightning strike twice." And I just think that's the case here, Capcom tried to add something extra in hopes of bolstering sales, sure, it may have worked, but they really managed to irritate a LOT of Devil May Cry fans in the process.

So I suppose in summary, my problem isn't Nero himself, it's the fact that Capcom have simultaneously managed to both mess up something that didn't need changing and also annoy a significant portion of their fan base.

It's cliché yes, but don't try to fix what isn't broke.
 
I personally think Capcom only used Nero as a new lead character because they were making DMC4 a multiplatform game. When you think about it if they had of used Dante all the way in DMC4 Xbox360 owners wouldn't have known any of the background story to the DMC games and probably wouldn't have bothered with it, meaning hardly any sales for the Xbox360 version, thats what really p***ed me off about Nero's introduction plus everything I previously mentioned about him in my posts.

Yeah but nearly everyone owns a PS2 (it said so in a magazine), so some X360 owners might have played them on the PS2.
 
Ultimately, he is just a shabby Dante.
People always say "He is more thought out then Dante"!
No he's not. Everyone goes for the cheap love story that won't last.
His entire character seems like a last minute thing.
*PROOF*
The creater cleary said "We introduced Nero to make the game more accessable to new fans".
This means he is temporary door/gate that can be just as easily closed as it was opened.
Then, him as a character is shappy. If I were to cut his arm off, he couldn't do anything.
BOOM!
Fights over.
This isn't MGS4, and the legend isn't over. This isn't Dante's final mission.

ALL HAIL THE DEFEAT OF NERO!

Rep for Bringerofchaos, I was wondering about that little theory for a while and you just proved it. Lets just hope that "door / gate" gets firmly slammed in Nero's face.

-Here is something in regards to Nero... I wrote this in the Nero Fan Club thread-

... They hardly sugar-coated Dante at the beginning of his adventures... So why do it with Nero? *You could argue that, because they just went "Here you are, we give you Dante" at the start, that they are trying the different approach with Nero" * the difference being, not much has been given away about him*... But because of this, I feel that it has let him down... It just means that, they have less room for characters such as Dante, Lady, Trish and Vergil *if he returns* and possibly Sparda... I mean, how many games are they planning to make? A ludicrous amount would be ridiculous...

If I am to be honest... They should make a dmc spinoff, with Nero and those characters, and leave the proper dmc to Dante and Vergil... Means more games, more money for them, and happy fans because they have kept both characters...
