    AO3 not having been built to curtail fandom racism back in 2008 literally because its creators didn't think of it, and the site's refusal to evolve for 10+ whole years (but finding the space to capitalize on an influx of Chinese fans in 2019), is tragic. Not as much as supporters nattering like fail_fandomanon burner accounts trying to defend the site's inaction while putting them on a pedestal, though!

    Enjoy the rest of your life. Can't relate to wrapping my identity as a fan around a site that's still in beta. Subcultures predate AO3 and they'll survive it when the site inevitably declines in users and shuts down to join the graveyard of other untenable domains.

    I very much liked your ideas for rewriting DMC 4's plot. If I may ask, do you have any ideas on how you'd improve 2's plot?

    Mm, good question. For right now I'd make no changes to 2's set up: Dante and Lucia have separate campaigns to begin with and that's good. It just needs more to it. Bolverk interacting with Dante as his rival, Lucia interacting with Secretaries and having more of a crisis, and definitely more Matier.

    The funny thing about it is I always assumed Akira just made super cause it was still a money maker. Though also the rehashing of already used ideas (except now they're canon) like Broly, Gogeta V Broly, and the like all reminds me too much of what DMC already doing with 5.

    From my understanding it's more like TOEI made Super because it's a moneymaker, Toriyama just wants to clear DBE from the series' legacy and hands in outlines for either TOEI or Toyo to do what they can to make that happen.

    He's ~70yo and doesn't have the energy to be a regular mangaka like when he started at 25yo (understandable, because all that work messed up his sleep schedule), but his successors aren't as strict about QA of the product. I'm still waiting on the 3-hour Broly epic, though.

    I've already adopted the little boy as my son and I await the Original Soundtrack's release. Hopefully they stick with the FF12/Tactics vibes throughout the game and give us an ensemble cast of misfits, and not literal First Worlders with the Prophetically Privileged Protagonist.

    Toriyama has long been about "telling an entertaining story" over being exact and "powerscaling this, canon that". He's been like that (and also plain forgetful of things) for years. There's plenty of other media out there that can tell "better plots" if people think DB is going to the gutter over its narrative, which Tori still got rich and famous off of despite the flaws inherent in his craft.

    DB fans don't know what they want. They bitch about Minus retconning BFOG, but they're still gonna watch this Broly movie that retcons Movie 8. They like Cell, but that saga started with Dr. Gero existing out of complete nowhere. They like DBZ, but Goku and Piccolo ceased being a "monkey boy" and a "demon" and became literal aliens. Beerus and Whis didn't exist before Battle of Gods, and that's retcon too.

    @Morgan I'm that one dragonball fan that's actually dislikes both Minus and Super Broly and mostly prefer the originals as well as preferring most of Toei older work over Akira modern stuff.
