he should go in timeout.

-looks at the news- ...this aged...interestingly.

+ A month til NaNo and I really don't have the right headspace to do research. I wonder if it's illegal to write the novel first, then research and edit it to be historically accurate...

I think if you know what to say with your story already, than you should just go for it. Treat it like another draft.

Don't let yourself be bound by something as petty as the laws of mortals :)
You're right! Sometimes you just have to nom a soul and do what you think is best! :D

I don't usually know what I want to say until I start writing and see what the characters have in mind, cuz sometimes what I have in mind isn't exactly what needs to be said. But I know what I'd like to do, so I guess I've got a starting point? ^^; At the very least, it can be a really rough and defined outline.

I'm similar but still sorting the mess in my head. If you have an outline already, then I'd say just go do it in NaNo. You could always update it with the historical accuracy after.

Or just use the next few weeks to research it.

So I'm currently in Germany and I'm so proud of myself: I managed to buy bread from a bakery in German language! It didn't sound pretty, I can tell you, but at least I have bread now.

Also, I love the jogging trails nearby. I'm in love with these endless rows of oak trees and huuuuuge parks around me. Happy to break my 200 kilometre milestone here! (Can't believe it... it's been like less than 5 months since I started jogging. So it seems it's possible for me to get 500 kilometers in a year o_O)

I'm writing my Bachelor's Thesis about municipal decision-making in the era of climate change discussion... and I'm just wondering if US withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord is a widely known fact in this regard, and therefore a sentence beginning with "US' decision to withdraw from the Paris Accord..." would need no source, or if I really have to cite this

It's so hard to be a smart-ass university student

It's so good to be home. ^^

I wish I was. I love Germany so far and people are so nice here, the city is beautiful and all that, but I miss waking up next to my husband and hearing "Good morning, my love" every morning, as the very first words of the day.
I think it'll get easier when my studies actually begin. The courses seem to be really interesting.

I got some feedback about my cyberpunk short story and now I'm wondering what to do with it... the story in general and its structure has got praised, but the characters need some flesh on their bones and I don't know how to do that without affecting the themes too badly.
Also, I don't know what to call that story. Right now, freely translated, the title is something like "Studies in Advanced Technopsychology" and it's just... vague.

I just beat my jogging endurance record and... Well, I'm just a bit too proud of myself :D

Also I don't need to count my steps anymore to keep my breathing pace under control. (I'm an asthmatic with lower lung capacity than an average person.)

I wish fantasy writers would just make up an original name for their monsters.

Like what do we call the large, flightless bird?
An ostrich.
We don't call it "Flappy Running Bird".

So if you have a giant toad that spews fire, make up a name, don't just call it a "giant fire toad".

Yeah I know.
Even in real life, we have animal names like "whale shark" and "eagle owl" but still...

You know the song that goes like this?:

Go on, take it out, take it out on me
'Cause you know I'm the only one who knows what you need
You want me to be guilty
To be the one who's wrong
So easy to blame me
It's been that way for so long

Go on, go on and hurt the one that you love
Go on and make me the one that you want to hate
If it makes you feel better
Go on, go on and give me the best that you've got
Go on and make me the villain I'm not
If it makes you feel better

Yup. That's what I've been thinking a lot for a couple of days.

However, isn't it amazing how calm I am about this? Hasn't been always like that, and that's the reason why I think there's nothing she could do to hurt me anymore. So, I think it's justified to give myself a nice pat on the shoulder just because during these years I've found the strength and the ways to cope with her - without hurting myself or anyone else.

Also, I wonder whether it is possible to bake my favourite bread without a dough machine.
