It's really fun being the only sober person on a fishing trip, especially when your cabinmate starts throwing up on themselves at 1 in the morning.

At least I caught something, and there's still 2 days left to go

My boss gave me unexpectedly great feedback for my work - once again I personally felt it wasn't that good, but my boss told me she'll be happy to give her recommendations for any future employer about me and that if they need a full-time lawyer, she'll remember my name, so... I'm happy, that's all I can say :D

So, traineeship was all good and I guess I was fine with the pressure as well. I just noted I cannot recall feeling depressed since January 2020. It took over 10 years of battle, but I think I can state with confidence that I've recovered and I've finally got full working capacity. Only thing that's left is CPTSD, which seems to have got a lot easier.

Couldn't be happier. Health is one of those things I really learned to appreciate only after I lost it and couldn't get it back for years.

Maybe I'm finally strong enough to start volunteer work as well.

For the past few years, I've been suffering from dysthymia. That is a high functioning form of depression. And I see some of it in Dante's portrayal post DMC1.

I don't think it would fix the anime automatically but it's something they could play with it in another adaptation.

Been watching Star Trek TNG for the first time since I was a kid, and Q is officially sexy space dad.

Sorry, I don't make the rules.

It's not as bad as it sounds. I'm one of the lucky ones. Plus depression doesn't mean you can't have fun. I still got up and gave a funny speech at my sister's wedding.

I hope it's get a Disney + series

I'm glad to hear that! To be frank, I wanted to say something more than just a sad face, but given my post just before yours I figured it would sound... what's the word in English again... Well, not forced, but a bit artificial. I guess you get it, I just woke up and as you know, English isn't my native language :D

@V's patron I can commiserate. That's the thing about it being high functioning, eh? How you're able to still go about your life and do what needs doing. It's still rough though. I hope it lessens for you with time. <3

CT: Husband accidentally stabbed himself through the thumb last night, so that was fun. Went from 0-100 on the wakefulness scale when I saw all the blood, let me tell you. ._. (He's okay, we got it bandaged up).

I'm better now than the early days but new problems arose. Before I was angry now I'm just indifferent/indecisive. But it can be fuel for the creative fire.

Welp, time to get to work.
Now I am a bit worried what do you actually do for living.

googling: "How do you get blood out of a pillowcase"

Not a murderer, I swear.

You know, this doesn't ease my suspicions lmao

@V's patron, Rebel Dynasty kinda said it all. Been there, done that as well. If "peer support" eases your mind, I can tell you it'll pass. You'll get through it, just keep on fighting.
There were times I thought I'd never be over it. I guess it required "only" getting betrayed, falling harder than I had for years, and getting rid of toxic people in my life, such as my abusive egg donor. Especially the latter helped me a lot.

Also, I know it sounds cheesy, but making some simple changes in e.g. the music I'm listening to helped me through the hardest parts. If you're into light alt-rock, check out Citizen Soldier.
It definitely doesn't work for everyone, but especially the lyrics in these songs hit me hard and it feels like these guys know what are they singing about.

And, as a small side note, once again knowing it's not a thing that works for everyone... personally, finding God and having regular meetings with a local Christian congregation was a thing for me. These are very sensitive moral choices, so I won't start banging your head with my religion, but if you feel like it could help you I have some favourite verses for this kind of stuff. However, as I don't know about your beliefs, I won't do that without a request. For the same reason, feel free to skip this part if you want to, I don't want to offend anyone.

// One little thing to add: the doctors don't lie when they say exercise is good for your mental health. However, don't get pressurized by it, because sometimes you're just too tired and depressed to think about exercising and that is completely fine. But if you feel like it, go outside and get some fresh air.

When I started running about a year ago, I was already quite far in remission phase, so mentally it was an easy start for me. In terms of physical health I wasn't too well though: I started from a point where less than 100 meters (330 ft) of running was torture for me. After 5 months, I could well run 5K without any special effort and was training for 10K. My husband noticed the change first, he told me I was a lot more energized and got more stuff done... in addition to having to buy smaller clothes, I lost quite a lot of weight as well :p Also, I completely stopped having repetitive flus and other health problems, which affected my mental state as well.
I remember having up to 6 different kinds of flus or infections per year before 2020.

What would Kingdom hearts be like if Hyde from that 70s show was the protagonist?

@therogis thanks for the advice. I was thinking about boxing as a hobby. And funnily enough I find running on the treadmill helps with idea flows.

Religion is tricky. I was raised Muslim but I find myself more pessimistic about my community/culture than before.

Ironically political speakers help more

So I just put on Dr. Cornel West in the background.

I was super close to having my parents name their puppy after Nero. Alas, they chose something else. They get the puppy next week. They still love the names on the list I selected for him.

It's such a good game, eh? I was surprised by how invested I was. Wish I had more from the series.

CT: My daughter is 13 today. I guess this also means I'm officially ancient.

So she keeps telling me. :cautious:
Agreed. I originally bought the game because I saw the picture of Sothis holding the SotC on Smash Bros and I was like "What is this? I like." Suddenly I'm knee deep in the Black Eagles drama. And my thoughts are:

"Bernie please relax."

"I wanna date Dorothea."

"I wanna date Petra"

"I am Ferdinand von Aegir. Yes dear we know." Also... Dr. Maruki?!

"Casper is so short."

Lin... You special ain't ya?"

"Hubert is basically Goto Akechi."

"Edelgard is sus."

"Hapi is boss."

Constance is crazy.

"B is muscles."

Yuri's eye shadow.

"Can I hug Lady Rhea?"

Yup those be my thoughts yo.

Yesterday was not bad but...what I can say we had 2 power outage in row and with past experience I had this summer (iran) this outages will destroy or break my Desktop PC (not laptop) so I need to buy a UPS.

Out of nowhere, I just enrolled in a writing course and, as usual, some of the peer feedback is really not worth even listening... considering that the very first comment I got, from a person who hadn't even read a word of my project, was that I should not tell my readers explicitly nor implicitly that the main character is a 12-year-old boy, rather I should hide his gender and circumvent any mention of it because "you should be sensitive, if you write about a boy trans people might get offended" (yeah, sure they will, because that's the way minorities fight for equality, right? So no one should ever write about men or women to avoid offending those who want to make our society more tolerant /sarcasm).

Buuut the great news is that the teacher, who is one of those authors I greatly appreciate and look up to around here, liked my stuff and invited me to watch an international book seminar later this month! I'm so excited, and this was just the boost I needed for my WIP(s)

This. Course. Is. Gold.

I just dug up an old project from a year ago and was like "holy crap there's actually some really good parts in this one"... and now my keyboard is smoking with it

Just what I needed, and now that I have a combined summer holiday + maternity leave, I can write as much as I want! :geek: :coffee:

You need to change their mind. Try to tell them that in Finnish, Nero means "genius". So if they name their puppy Nero he's determined to be a quick learner.
And while it's true, it can always be DMC Nero for you. ;)

I don't know if this is true but I've heard* that modern-day PC components are made somewhat with power outages in mind. They're not "immortal", but they're not even near as vulnerable as some components were in, say, 15 years ago. Was necessary to get PCs compete with laptops, which are obviously more safe from outages and spikes since you don't have to plug them in your power grid.

* I'll ask the guy who told me this when I see him, or just my husband who knows something about hardware stuff as well. I'm more of a software technician :p

Okay so FORGET ALL THE CT ABOVE BECAUSE I JUST CHECKED MY E-MAIL AND AAAAAAA

They want to publish my short story in a paper!!!!!

Yes, the one with writing competition award.

They said the love the beautiful use of words and my world-building.

:love::eek::love:
:eek::eek:

I'm getting to work with a real editor.
Please wake me up.

Also, does this qualify for being a published author or does it apply just on books? Enlighten me @Rebel Dynasty :D

Neither explanation would work, they already decided the name and sticking to it.I told them about the origins of the name Nero, and they were impressed. They decided no human sounding names. But like I said, it was close. I can live with it.
