I hope delivery services are still classed as essential - I've got most of my stuff on order to arrive.

Apparently vitamin D is very good for keeping respiratory illness at bay so I got some of that too.

No idea what will happen if everyone's sent home for a month though. Work isn't going to pay everyone what they need to make their rent. I've been applying for local jobs to add a bit of money to the pot but under these circumstances I guess they won't be interviewing anyone for at least 3 weeks.

Supermarkets are hiring but I think every man and his dog are applying.

Delivery services are, for now, unaffected. So long as you're ordering stuff no one wants it seems pretty good. Amazon have had no issues delivering the random crap I buy. If it's toilet roll or food items then there is less chance, but I got cat food and castile soap delivered yesterday and I've got some maths equipment for the kids coming today - no problems in ordering them at all.

I went out today to hunt for bread and toilet roll...bread was available but I got donated some roll from a friend I work(ed) with. We were completely out and people are still stockpiling. One woman I spoke to was bemoaning the lack of stock and when I asked if she was desperate, she replied with "oh, I've got about 18 rolls at home". So I'm guessing unless she's literally wearing the stuff, she's not going to run out any time soon. Yet still trying to stock up.

Madness.

I currently work at Homebase, Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s. I have three jobs because my Homebase job was meant to close down in December but ended up being delayed until July so I took on another job when I thought it was shutting.

Supermarkets and Home and Hardware stores won’t close. I don’t drive so I have to walk to work and between jobs where people still aren’t keeping to the appropriate distance apart from each other.

I am beginning to become worried about my own safety in regards to this and I messaged my boss from Homebase to express this concern with this;

Hi Tony this is Ryan from Homebase Worle. Homebase is not closing to my knowledge during this UK lockdown. I currently work at two other jobs also which are both supermarkets which also won’t close obviously. My worry and concerns are the amount of travel and contact that I myself come into during working at all three jobs. I do not drive. I’d assumed and had hoped that Homebase might temporarily shut during this difficult and confusing time more so for my own health and safety. Since this isn’t the case what should I do about this worry of mine? Thanks, Ryan.

My response was “No Homebase are staying open from 9am many thanks Tony”.

Basically they don’t care for my safety and I will continue to be exposed to all this for now. But obviously that doesn’t matter.

Yikes! I work at a Gas Station, so that is Essential retail. I need to go back to work this Friday. I am slightly frightened because the gas station i work at is at the Airport, especially since my mom is diabetic. I would recover if i got the virus, but she may not, so i will have to take all the precautions at work to make sure my mother is safe. Fortunately my company has agreed to pay us, an extra dollar an hour during the crisis. I make 14.50 cause i work overnights, so that's 15.50 an hour. So when the Disney Parks are cleared to reopen. Walt Disney World look out here I come!!!!
But pm me if you need to vent retail madness at me, I will gladly listen. < @LordOfDarkness

The hub is coming home two weeks early! I mean, he'll have to self-isolate for at least two weeks, but at least he'll be home. ^^

My productivity is about to take a nosedive, I'm sure, but as long as I still do some work here and there, it's all good.

You paid 60 bucks to get a 5 dollar game free? Or am I not reading that right? lol I might be really frigging tired.
Yes, I did. I wanted Doom Eternal, but it would be nice to get Doom 64 for free. I have the original 70ish dollar Doom 64 cartridge. You see, nostalgia.

I've been given keyworker status.

Having to carry my ID around all the time is weird. Like, I have to justify being outside to whomever takes issue with it.

In other news, my cat crapped in the tumble dryer again. She can leave the house whenever she wants and has a litter tray too...but still elects to deposit kitty turds in my clean washing.

I can't even...

Man, the world really has gone crazy. Teenagers licking toilets, adults drinking fish tank cleaner and Madonna singing about endlessly about fried fish.

I've never seen anything else like it.
There are stupider things people do. Like smoking weed from someone's asshole. *open eyes wide* I can't unsee that ****.

I get carded to buy liquor sometimes, i guess i can be low balled at 18, but I am actually in my 30's. People actually get upset when i card them for cigarettes. Sorry if you look under 40 to me I'm gonna card you. I sometimes make a joke and say something like "I can no longer tell the age of mortals."

Managed to get the last available meat hamper from my usual online retailer before it sold out yet again.

With the tougher restrictions and zero available online shopping slots, meat is becoming quite hard to get hold of.

In other news, the kids are really enjoying me reading the Narnia books to them. Considering both hate reading with a passion, it's so nice to see them utterly captivated and then begging for another chapter each day.
