Nooooo. :'( That's not fair. My neighborhood cats are the same, though. We leave the food and water sometimes, so sometimes they're like "okay, strange human, you can pet me" but mostly it's just "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!" I wish animals weren't so skittish.
The only ones that don't freak out are these two ducks that like to jump in puddles in the park in the mornings.

Don't forget the fact you have light skin, which means you'll get a lot of burnt marks, unless you use an umbrella or some 50 spf lotion, which are very expensive.
