Nope, it wasn't even in the novels. In any DMC-thing Dante is the only one to ever have used Ebony & Ivory with the exception of the DMC3 cut-scene when both twins shoot Arkham.

That's what I implied in my previous post.^_^

I can't really see Vergil using guns even in his earlier childhood. But he obviously knows how to use one(even a 5 year old is smart enough to know how to use a gun.). Also the whole jackpot scene is traditional and I doubt it had anything to do with them shooting guns together in a earlier time, it was most likely a childhood phrase they did or made up just for fun. Think about it, kids using guns with their mother around(must be bad parenting)? Any way Nero says jackpot in DMC4 when he busters Sanctus now if it was a gun thing, you would think he would've lv3 charge shot him or something. Btw the jackpot in DMC4 was lame.

Yeah Jackpot became a kinda of tradition in a weird way. In DMC1, when Dante meets Trish he implies that one of the reasons he opened the store is to find his mothers killer, and if he did, that would be like getting the jackpot. So when he finishes Mundus he says it.
I don't recall any jackpot scene in DMC2.
In DMC3 instead of what it was, it became a phrase that Dante & Vergil used to say together when they...did various things.(?)
And in DMC4 Nero said it...for no apparent reason.

It seems to me that this phrase is becoming more attached to "being the phrase when you deliver the final blow in the last boss" rather than having anything to do with Dante's revenge, or Dante's & Vergil's childhood, which is really too bad, since I liked the idea of it having some kinda of
history" behind it.

Yeah I atleast would've felt better if he charge shot Sanctus while saying Jackpot but that wasn't the case.

And how exactly is it incorrect to imply he may have used Ivory? Whilst grabbing the gun and everything, they do say "Like old times"... To me that suggests they use to work side by side, both using one of the guns.

It has never been implied in any release of Dante's childhood or pre-Devil May Cry 3, that Vergil has used one of the guns.

They were only Dante's personal handguns, and still are.

Never implied, but that doesn't mean it can't be possible.

You can't say that for everything. If It's not been confirmed, It means Vergil never used one of Dante's guns.

 I can't say what for everything? Why does it need confirmation? I personally think he did, because they both seem to work well at the end of 3 with the little gun pose before shooting Arkham... To me, it looks like they had a partnership before, and both used each other's weapons... Kinda, what's mine is yours sorta thing. Just what I think, obviously not fact.

And Esura is banned??? Wtf??

Bannings are never discussed publicly unless there is a very good reason. He'll be back soon ;)

I personally think there is an implication that Vergil has used firearms in the past based on the quote Lod gave...no need for confirmation when something is implied because it's open to interpretation.

Ok Dante and Vergil where said to receive their DA's right before Eva was killed. When she was killed they were split up thinking each other was dead(Well Dante thought Vergil was dead). Until DMC3 Manga when they found out that they were both alive and well. Dante had to have received his guns after Eva's death because he was given the name Tony Redgrave(A secret identity to hide who he was) after his mother was killed. These guns were made for Dante and with the Tony Redgrave named placed upon it("For Tony Redgrave"). This means Vergil couldn't have used either gun of Dante.

Wow, how foolish. I am talking about the games, not the mangas. Dmc games aren't true to the Mangas, if I am correct. And to me, they don't have to be. There is still a possibility he did use the guns, it is my opinion, and I believe that he did use Ivory *end of*

Wth, the Mangas are connected to the game for a better concept of DMC3(They pretty much had to make a Manga because everything would've been confusing without details on Vergil and Arkham.). Even if the Manga was thrown out "For Tony Redgrave" is still placed upon both guns meaning it was made for Dante only. Even in DMC1 it proved that Dante had thought Vergil was killed during that demon attack that killed their mother(Trish proved this). Btw the whole Tony Redgrave thing isn't about the Manga. Even the anime proves that Dante and Vergil split up with Dante being taken in by that lady. Also there are only 2 Mangas that are cannon and those are the DMC3 Mangas.

^ Hmm... which puts confusion on me when we look at the line "Like old times"... What was that implying then?

Obviously a phrase they created as children. Even Vergil says"Okay,Ill try it your way for once" Meaning he probably never used or liked guns in the first place. Btw i think that's what your talking about. Jackpot?

^ Not entirely obvious... The way they say it leaves speculation, you'd have to admit.

He could mean "I'll try things your way for once"... Not entirely implying he has never used guns, simply meaning he does not favour guns as a suitable weapon for a warrior.
