What's with some people calling every first person game an FPS? It means First Person Shooter. Shooter being the key word. Big emphasis on gun fighting.
RE7 is not an FPS, Outlast is not an FPS etc.
Outlast is a first-person survival horror, and RE7 is a FPS/Survival Horror hybrid. Sure, Ethan starts off with little to no ammo in the beginning, but if a player is smart enough, you can save a lot of ammo by the second half. The main campaign gets more action heavy in the last third of the game, similar to the end of RE2 & RE3. The Not A Hero campaign might as well be a an FPS version of 4-6, as there are action commands to damage or kill enemies, Chris is better equipped, and can
punch molded in the face! And the End of Zoe is a first person brawler, featuring a hill-billy. So RE7 is of multiple genres.
Sandbox games are not best or the be all to end all of video games. Just because it's open-world doesn't make it good. I've met quite a few with this narrow minded view. Also, this one lady that works at a Game Stop needs to get over herself. I don't care or like Assassin's Creed since Brotherhood. If you like the series, more power to you, but don't pretend the series never had a bad, or rushed, buggy title. Till this day, she claims to never encounter glitches in Unity. Either she is lying, deluding herself, or really stupid. She's got a decent head on her shoulders, so I am going to assume it's the first two.
