New Gameplay

To put it short I thought the half the enemies of 4 sucked so much that if they never existed, I woudn't have said I needed a enemy tutorial.

I don't even know what we're talking about.

I liked DMC4 enemies.....except the Mephisto & the larger Mephisto and the Blitz were my favorite enemies in all DMC games.

Yeah that is all together different topic and now it seems your twisting my words and trying to derade my initial topic to a different argument.

Come on Nero, you just said you don't like for anything to tell you how to do something. You wanna fail until you get it. Did you not?

Well in life, you can also read a friggin book for intelligence on what you're about to do. Also, if there are games out there that don't tell you how to activate something that's not visible to the naked eye, then it's friggin difficult to keep playing a game with NO fun factor because you don't know where to go.

You said it for me thanks ! Saved me all the trouble. This doesn't just apply to the stages.

Now that is just wrong. I never said that. That is way different from what I'm saying. I prefer a game that tests my mind and allow me to see what is best to do on my own...not some pop-up just pops up and tells me here do this. That truely takes away the fun factor or makes it too easy. Old school games did that and there was never any problems. Like figuring out patterns and movements in puzzles and realizing what would happen if I did that. Well for DMC's case it doesn't need hints (unless for platforming but DMC & even DmC has simple platforming that hints are necessary).

That is pretty much the same as figure it on your own...when faced with a problem....sometimes people won't just go to you and tell you what to do....YOU gotta come to the conclusion what to do like figuring out what sources to use to gain info and there are just some situations a book or researching won't help you in like your being mugged will you read a book about what to do when being mugged while being mugged.

1)Therefore hints are available for you to be turned on or turned off.

2)You can learn from a lot of things to know what to do when being mugged. It's called preparation. If studied enough, you can remember the book and use it during the mugging.

well seeing in about every DMC game past there was an option to turn on and off tutorials from the get go i think its safe to asume it will be optional in DmC. also lets not forget majority of the gameplay here is open to the press ie they play it too. as not every person out there is as good a gamer as us id asume the tutorials are quite important.

I thought I was the one that got off track when you said I don't know what you're talking, but seeing how extreme you are. I think...it's was just a mistake.

You've said it.This game seriously needs more new players than from the old batch, since the fanboys are raging.
It should be newbie-friendly.

You're the one who threw me off-course.

Plus

@Agility......I understand now but its mainly you guys who are throwing me off course from my initial argument which was past DMC games allowed for players to figure out how to defeat enemies on your own and most games (mainly Rated M) does that too but if I'm playing a game and when a new enemy pops up they literally gives me a tutorial on how to beat it where is the fun in that. God of War which sells twice as much as DMC doesn't do that either why should DmC whose main point is to beat the other competition shouldn't degrade to cheap gameplay mechanics that lessen what its suppose to do. Tameem & NT said they want to make a game just as challenging as DMC3 and allow for experimentation with enemies and figuring how to counter enemies on your own using enemy tutorials but when facing a new enemy and telling you a major key important factor of how to beat them completely contradicts that. All I hope is that this for just the demo and the public version of the game.

You're the one who threw me off-course.
Well I made a statement about how good a tip is, and without it it could be a put-off to some players. And you made a veeeery long sort of history about the enemies of the series and about how non-knowledge is realistic .So I made my word clearer with examples and you said you can't understand it. Agility said a more general version of my words and you made some "real-life" examples that are simply off hand.
Actually the disscussion was never off-course.

The real problem is how straight forward a hint can be. There is "oh, look there is a yellow glowing ball on the enemy's face... I should hit that." And then there is "Oh! An enemy!" *Game stops and huge sign appears* Sign: HIT THE DAMN YELLOW CORE! Me: "... okie..."

Even if there is a yellow core that you must hit, sometimes you feel accomplished for figuring out the enemy's patterns of... for example, when is the enemy going to show the yellow core so that I can hit it. But when the game literally tells you what to do.. like... literally, in words, in videos, etc, then it's just like... wtf... play the game for me why dontcha.

Some games actually explained enemies weaks points...

House of the Dead series...Before fighting a boss, you see a giant book opening in front f your eyes, showing the boss and the weak point, lol.

At least, the last boss for every game didn't have that. Instead, the weak point appeared as "unknown".

It seems that another video will be shown tomorrow, guys.

Do you think we'll see the entire Bob Barbas fight? That's all I want, to be honest.

Lol I never played House of the Dead but I think in a game like that, some hints on weak spots are pretty legitimate... for the most part... because it is hard to tell if you are doing good damage or not.

I don't know, but I'm gonna go with no. If they didn't show it already they aren't going to be showing it tomorrow. It would probably be the same thing. But it is still fun to watch because sometimes they forget to mention something cool or they do some weird thing that gives away another thing about the game.

Unfortunately I don't think they are allowed to show ALL of the fight. :(
But one thing I am looking forward to is Greg said he was going to try to explore some jump cancelling on the stream.

He said that!? That's cool. He has done a lot of enemy steps but not as jump canceling, just as a way to keep himself in the air.

The only jump canceling I have seen in this game is from that Don... or Dan... or D-something dude who is that advanced player from NT that does like every single demo for them, and he always does it on the Helm Breaker... it's like he learned it just for that one move or something.

Mhm, I asked him on the stream, as well as as a couple others, if he would try some jump cancelling tomorrow and he said he would try. And you're talking about Dom lol

House of the dead is one of my favorites. I still go out to the arcades and have a 100-yen shoot.
Well I see your point. But like house of the dead, even there is a big message that covers the entire screen. Some hints are very hard to accomplish.
HoD3's last boss, The Wheel of fate. His weakness is dead obvious but he is a big effort.

Hints should be used at the right time I think.

I think that the reason you say this is because you've played all the DMC games. There are actually some new fans who have never played the past DMC games, and need a bit of a crash course on the possibilities of what you can do on a DmC game.

lol Dom, got it. Isn't he like the best player right now? I bet you anything that will change 2 days after the game is out XD

Well, given hints that are hard to accomplish are also alright. The satisfaction of doing it can still come from there.

But when it comes to games like DMC, I like to experiment around with enemies to see what works and what doesn't. Because DMC games are all based on replays, meaning you will most likely want to replay the game, and every time you jump back in you keep discovering new ways of beating enemies that you never even knew of, hence adding replay value. So I wouldn't like a game like DMC to actually tell me how to beat enemies because then people would be all like "You're doing it the wrong way." And I would freak out and say "ZOMG I dontz does wut da stoopid game tellz me, I'm srry!" or something XD
