Actually i think DmC's visual design is probably the best thing about it but i still don't see it winning that, not with what it's up against.

The only real competition to me from the looks of it is Ni No Kuni, Blood Dragon, Bioshock Infinite, Unfinished Swan, Hotline Miami, and sort of Dishonored.

Last of Us shouldn't be nominated. I mean, the game looks freaking amazing but, it's nothing all that special. It's just yet another post apocalyptic zombie world. And quite a few nominated are just sequels that have been dishing out the same looking visuals.

I'm just hoping the games who actually made an effort to do something fresh and creative with their visuals instead of being another prettied up glob of brown and gray get some recognition.

DmC definitely is fantastic when it comes to visuals. The artist should be proud and throw themselves a Dante pizza party or something.

I fully agree with the competition, i think the frontrunners are likely Ni No Kuni and Blood Dragon but i'm sure Bioshock have get it's fair share of votes. I've not had the opportunity to play any of the others yet so i'll take your word on them.

Again i agree Last of Us shouldn't be nominated but i reckon it's only there because somebody can't tell the difference between what should qualify as visual presentation and what looks good.

Madness! Dante never gets the pizza! NEVER! If they want a safe option it should be a strawberry sunade!

By GAWD it looks DELICIOUS.

And even though I hate how MGR was practically a Metal Gear in name only and I have unrealistic HATE for Raiden, I was able to put that aside and still say MGR is an ok game and judge it on its merits.

Unlike most of the stubborn DMC fanboys who condemned it from the very start with that TGS trailer and still to this day give it more grief than it deserves. And when they say DMC 4 is actually an overall better game then DmC then they just f#cking lost me. That's just nonsensical. Whatever though.
Your a forking liar and delusional fan.

Name in only?
Raiden stabbing with a ninja sword? Check
MG dialogue? Check
Spinning around move with leg like in MGS4 with Geckos? Check
Jumping stealth attack on Geckos like in MGS4? Check
The Geckos you see in cutscenes in MGS4 - have been implemented into MGR´s gameplay - CHECK

I am not even a huge MGS fan and even i can see that MGR was very true to Raiden´s way of fighting - Cyborg swordmanship.
And Raiden is part of MGS.

I respect that you did not find the story appealing. Even i admit the story could be better, though there are parts of story that was done really nice and i hoped that rest of story was as consistent.
But your a bloody liar.

The story of MGR was about many things. One of them about Raiden stopping villains from abusing kids by harvesting their brains and putting it into a cyborg body.
Child soldiers. That´s story of Raiden´s life.

But your a liar. You pretend as if MGR is only in name only.
The whole point of Rising became to do something new.
The point of MGR was to bring forth change, a new direction.
And it dam well did that, MGR has very good potential as a game and i look forward to MGR 2 whether it has Raiden, Gray fox or spongebob.

Stop this madness...

The amount of irony in this post is almost palpable. Nearly everything you said here could be applied to DmC and DMC...

And when they say DMC 4 is actually an overall better game then DmC then they just f#cking lost me. That's just nonsensical.

Feel the same way when someone say DmC is actually an overall better game then DMC4, btw.
And come on, be realist. If someone say that DmC is ok game but DMC 4 better he will be claimed as DMC fanboy, any way. So what a point of trying to be polite in judging this game.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And i agreed about Last of us. I still cant get it, why this game even nominated in this category. In terms of design game was...good i guess and thats all. When Bioshock and Ni No Kuni was realy awesome.

Now while DMC4 was one of the worst things to happen to the series, the gameplay arguably better in 4...but that's really all.

I also thought God of War's design was very creative and there seemed to be a lot of depth to the landscape and such. It really made me feel I was in that era a bit more then the design of the previous 3 games. Pikmin was also adorably sweet, but out of everyone Bioshock takes the cake.

And I wonder how Saints Row for is up for game of the year? Granted I love the series but...so soon. Ah well, it would be a shock to me if they won considering what it's up against.

The Saint's Row fanbase is even more divided then DMC's is, there's no way they'll outvote anybody.

Considering how the majority of the press, reviewers, and gamers thought how awesome it is [The Last of Us], I think it stands a good chance to win

Yeah CUZ THAT'S ALL THEY'RE GETTING
img-thing

I say that because considering all the hate and through all the fire they went through, they were still nominated as one of the developers and their game as a nominee for visuals and design. That in itself is an accomplishment for NT.

Even if they don't win, it's still

I guess I'm the exception to that rule then.
I'll count myself in, as many other DMC fans would do, imo.
Voted for DmC in visual design, because... Well. Limbo. I guess it was the first thing that made me change my idea about DmC and made me love it.

The combat was still fine and all but, I won't say a Bloody Palace mode makes it worth it. When I noticed that's how I spent most of my time with 4 then I know it's a pretty damn sh!t game. I still to this day go back and replay DMC 1 and 3 in their entirety. Never wanted to do that with 4 because of so much stupid sh!t.

Yeah, after I got bloody palace, I just couldn't get into doing the other levels. After going through the annoying puzzles, the campy lines, and having to play as Nero for half of the game, I said f*ck it and just stuck to Dante in bloody palace.

Ironic and moronic babble..

Like TwoX said, the irony in your rant is baffling. Sad thing is you will never even understand what we mean by that.

You are broadcasting how little you actually know about the Metal Gear franchise with a goddamn megaphone. It's a strawman argument so why do you even bother?

You don't play the Metal Gear games. I've been playing that series since I was a little kid and I admit I am sometimes pretty passionate about it. So don't tell me I don't know my Metal Gear kiddo.

Yea, it totally wasn't trivial bullsh!t when it came to you Demon.
