TwoX, I seriously think she either doesn't listen to anything or seriously just doesn't understand. Demon's in her own little world.

Also MGR is technically canon to the Metal Gear series since they decided to make it take place after the events of MGS 4 in the future. Which is stupid because Raiden retired in MGS 4. He shouldn't be suiting up again. And he's been through a bunch of sh!t. Let the dude go back to his wife and kid.

You can tell Kojima hardly had any involvement with MGR.

Konami's the one who just keeps trying to f#ck things up.

I think he means that MGR is more than "in name only" because it actually is in the same universe while DmC is pretty much ....I think, we all know.

Demon isn't even qualified to play defense for her argument. Demon isn't even a Metal Gear fan and can always only nitpick and bring up semantics. Broadcasting loud and clear how little Demon actually knows about the Metal Gear franchise.

Really...? Because I remember it having been part of the canon as MGS:R, but once it was taken out of the timeline there and became MGR, it was just a "what-if" game like Ghost Babel was. Because originally it was supposed to be about Raiden saving Sunny from Area 51, but then when it became MGR, they scrapped the idea and went with the whole what-if scenario.

Well aren´t you so cool.

Tell me, why did you in first place, when you replied to me, not adress the content of my post rather talk about how ironic it is i am defending MGR when i have a difference stance on DmC-DMC.
If you wanted me and you to discuss the topic in a constructive way and end it knowing more about eachother´s thoughts and opinion...

u would have adressed what i said about MGR, not be a condescending troll "Ironic that IC says this about MGR, when DmC-DMC is same thing".
But u didnt.
So drop the act.

Have fun defending the mediocre game that barely innovated DMC gameplay, only thing it did is repeat same thing but in a crappier way with a new paint job.
That game...took 3 years...is having tough time facing DMC 4 and MGR , which both are games that were rushed. Something DmC wasnt.

If Capcom team or PG received 3 years to make DMC 5, they would make a game that would flush the bad taste of DmC´s gameplay out.

Oh and i am not a PG fanboy, i dont care if its Capcom or PG. Afterall if it wasnt for Capcom...DmC would been worse.

Yea, it takes place 4 years after Guns of The Patriots.

I heard when it was MGS:R it was going to take place in between 2 and 4 doing what you said but, I think I remember hearing it was P* and Konami who pushed for it being in the future so they wouldn't be restricted in that particular narrative. They wanted to do more of their own stuff. That's when I think Kojima just said f#ck it.

>DmC has a cocky guy wearing a long coat with a sword and two guns fighting demons.

>Sounds like Devil May Cry

>Your arguments are invalid.

:ermm: Hint hint

Demon still will never understand the baffling irony in her own post. Watch.

You're not being cool yourself

That's what I should be saying to you. You're not exactly being subtle yourself. You keep arguing your argument and when someone points out the single flaw you caused, you blow up like you mean something different. Admit it you got hypocritical for that one instant. Everyone does every now and then. Just accept it and move on. Just because you gave DmC some acknowledge it, don't be like Kanye West and try and hid behind your tough girl face, because it won't work.

You make yourself out as someone who feels that they need to be right when it comes to DmC's flaws and disliking it, but can't have the respect to atleast say "I don't like how DmC did it, but I do like how MGR did the same thing out of preference" or is that not enough for your long essay of words. Seriously, you gotta stop with all this bull and just try to be real. Be real and not shuve how much you hate DmC down our throats.

And no one cares about how you feel about DMC5, because now you're being a brat because someone proved you wrong on something. So stop with your drama bomb and simply...

What am I supposed to say when you just shrug off most of the discussion :ermm:

Maybe because deep down I felt you weren't going to listen anyway. As evidenced by what you posted above, to which I gave you a good ol' Chow Thumbs Up.

Or maybe because I wanted to save the thread some trouble, and that maybe you would have realized yourself how ironic it may have been.

Well, I did end up addressing it, so you got what you wanted in the end. I don't really have an act, here. Not sure what that even means. Perhaps I did bait you a little, but *shrug* I still gave you a legitimate conversation. It's not like I'm trolling you, or insulting you or anything.

Keep tossin' out those wholly subjective opinions as fact ;) Someone's bound to take them to heart.

Actually, DmC was rushed. A lot of that three years was back and forth discussions between two countries, and the entire first year or so was plagued with changes in vision, where Capcom wanted more drastic changes to be made. Because of the collaborative nature of the game's development, an entire portion of the dev time (three years) had a lot of moments where not a whole lot of development was being done, because Capcom was looking over Ninja Theory's progress. Plus, there's all the time the dev team took out to create the multiple demos shown at conventions (and for the consoles), which actually do take away from regular dev time.

If Capcom team or PG received 3 years to make DMC 5, they would make a game that would flush the bad taste of DmC´s gameplay out.

Your bad taste, maybe. My DmC experience was quite tasty, like cotton candy and apples. Now...this actually makes me wonder - have you actually played DmC...?

Oh and i am not a PG fanboy, i dont care if its Capcom or PG. Afterall if it wasnt for Capcom...DmC would been worse.

:/ If it wasn't for Capcom, DmC wouldn't exist. DMC wouldn't exist either. Hell, Platinum Games wouldn't exist...

I know MGR took place after MGS4, and they did so to alleviate the restrictions from it being in the middle of the timeline when it was MGS:R, but I hadn't heard that it was still supposed to be canon. I had only heard that along with it being taken out of the middle of the timeline, it also became that "what-if" scenario, just for the sake of letting us play a cyborg ninja.

Maybe it was some news that popped up while I was knee deep in DmC's release >.< Are you sure it was s'posed to be canon?

And yet, it was still better then DMC4 when I played it. Ain't that funny.:D

*shrug* That comes down to personal preference.

With how DmC changed up the controls, I now like them more the DMC's original controls. By DMC4, it just felt like they wanted to give you everything, but still had to be confined by the control scheme that was just incredibly familiar to the players. It was nice, but...once I played DmC and was able to do both a ground combo and Aerial Rave with Triangle, and without having to switch to a specific Style beforehand, I fell in love. Going back to play the classics, some of it just feels clunky now.

Granted, Nero was good enough to have his ground and air combos on one button, so I knew there was hope, but I liked playing Dante more (because he has Gunslinger), who still used the older formula.

The game still keeps the events of MGS 4 in tact. They even reference and hint of Snake's death. And him being dead within about 4 years isn't hard to believe. He didn't have long at all unfortunately.

It's not something like for example The Dark Knight Returns which even though taking place in the future it has always been non canon. They never state MGR is some alternate reality. The game never acts like it either.

Well, of course it follows the timeline and all that, but, from what I remember it was like Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel, which was a game that followed the events of Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2, but also took place in the same time that Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation was supposed to be going on. In essence, it was a replacement for MGS1.

Ghost Babel was just a "what-if" game that followed the events of Metal Gear 1 and 2 and even had you returning to Galuade and the old Outer Heaven base. In the same vain, Metal Gear Rising follows the events of MGS4, but is otherwise not technically part of the canon, because it's just a "what-if" game. That's what I mean - I'm not sure if I'm being clear or not :x
