With the Metal Gear franchise pretty much being my favorite video game series of all time MGR was just ok and disappointed me. It should have been better. And of course you people think P* is the best thing since sliced bread so DmC doesn't do anything right. *shrugs*

I'd have enjoyed MGR even if it wasn't P* who made it but of course we'll ignore that because it's just easier to say that we ride P*'s dick and none of us know how to be objective at all.

It's an easier argument for you to make in the end so you just go ahead and keep on making it.

Honestly Metal Gear Rising isn´t a very good game. It´s above average.
There are alot i could say about Rising and its flaws.

But reason why i dont bring it up much and dont shout "MGR was crap" is because...MGR is first game of what is to be Metal Gear Hack and Slash spin off serie.

the very first. the foundation, the ground you stand on, the blue print, etc
Plus, and yes, PLUS ++++++++++
Platinum Games had a tight schedule to make the game, roughly 2 years.

If they had more time (+1 year), i am positive the game would have been better and had less flaws. PG has commented on this, and one developer said "We wish we had more time to show what we are known for".

Darksiders 1, was pretty mediocre and i didnt like it very much though it was OK game.
I didnt go shouting its crap, because it was the first game = the foundation of Darksiders.

Darksiders 2 have been made, and i am really positive about it to extent i place Darksiders 2 in "Top Hack and Slash" category of games.
And i am looking forward to how Vigil Games will make Darksiders 3. Have high hopes!

Darksiders 2 compared to 1, is a improvement. Vigil grew as developers, and i acknowledge that and wish all Vigil Game developers who worked on Darksiders 1 and 2 to have opportunity to work on Darksiders 3.

So tell me:
Would you serve in heaven or rule in hell?

I had fun playing MGR too but, it wasn't that great and it's annoying to see people for the most part overrating it just because it's something that they wanted to compare to DmC and say was superior like right out the gate. For the most part those people weren't even Metal Gear fans. They're hack n slash fans. I'm a die hard MGS fan. Bigger than Devil May Cry actually.

I've been waiting for a Cyborg Ninja game for years ever since I saw Gray Fox for the first time in MGS 1 back in the day. And MGR didn't live up to my expectations and was just the popcorn Metal Gear game. Ninja Gaiden with Metal Gear wallpaper. Just decent at best. I didn't want to buy it or keep replaying. Unlike like other Metal Gear games I've beaten in to double digit numbers.

And MGR doesn't do sh!t when it comes to great moments. Compared to all the other awesome moments the Metal Gear franchise has delivered, MGR doesn't even hold a f#cking candle to that stuff. I don't think MGR blew anyone's minds. Psycho Mantis for example was a goddamn mind blower back in the day when you played that for the first time. MGR should bury its head in shame.

MGR was okay. Not anything I haven't seen before but certainly unique on its own merits. Though I wouldn't say its as good as DmC. After playing the demo, I think I made the right choice for DmC instead.

Come on now what? Should I give them a pity vote because I should feel sad for them? Nope.

No, I mean the complaining wasn't really that big of a deal.

Well obviously we have our winner then:

MAKE IT SO ACTIVISION!

I liked MGR, but not as Metal Gear game. As hack'n'slash game probably.
And senator fight was realy cool. Far superior then anything in DmC.

F*CK YOU, F*CK THE GOVERNMENT, F*CK EVERYTHING.

I found him no different then Mundus really.
Plus MGR seemed to be another "Government is evil" style like DmC.

I played only Bayo and MGR from all P* games, so i didn't their huge fan. But MGR was really awesome for me, because of craaaazy action and cool OST. (now it's my second favorite OST after LoK Soul Reaver) And it was the only real h'n's game for past few years.

It's a pity that they lost "spirit" of Metal Gear games and great characters development.

Senator is nothing special as character.
But whole fight with him was realy epic.

I want Thief to win for Most Wanted but I think it's gonna be that same old, lame old shooter that comes out every year.

Raiden is not Snake rebooted
MGS is not a hack n slash.
A British development team didn't make MGR

MGR's hate is not the same as DmC's hate.

And i don't know who has more reasons to hate :D

Any way, i'm talking about situation where developer take a game, change everything what fans (or fanboys) liked in this game and saying "come on guys, we make game for another audience, but we also care for you to. Honestly ^^,"

I think the merits of DmC's visual design deserve more credit. Visual design isn't necessarily about what has better graphics, it's about the concept and scope of the visuals. The Last of Us is a very beautiful game, but from a Visual Design standpoint it really isn't something that should be lauded as much as it is - it didn't do something nearly as unique as a game like DmC did.

I mean, that's really sort of par for the course between a game set in a near-reality to one steeped in mysticism, but...DmC is just strikingly beautiful in its own way, because of the kinds of visuals it used. I'll take a concrete road undulating like a wave over one with weeds growing from its cracks any day :p

Actually i think DmC's visual design is probably the best thing about it but i still don't see it winning that, not with what it's up against.

MGR's hate is not the same as DmC's hate.

And even though I hate how MGR was practically a Metal Gear in name only and I have unrealistic HATE for Raiden, I was able to put that aside and still say MGR is an ok game and judge it on its merits.

Unlike most of the stubborn DMC fanboys who condemned it from the very start with that TGS trailer and still to this day give it more grief than it deserves. And when they say DMC 4 is actually an overall better game then DmC then they just f#cking lost me. That's just nonsensical. Whatever though.
