1.Please Teacher----Love this series to death can watch it over and over again!
2.FLCL/Furi Kuri/Fooly Cooly
3.Mahou Sensei Negima---Just downloaded and watched the japanese version with english subtitles--Awesome series BTW also There is a remake called Negima!? but personally u should watch the original Mahou Sensei Negima then check the remake out---Original is still way better anyways....
4.Devil May Cry
5.Bleach--following the japanese version with eng. subtitles way farther and better oh yeah ( Hueco Mundo chapter restart is airing this tuesday in japan so i can't wait for the subtitle version to come NEL is Awesome, Itsygo!!!!!!!!!! LOL)

and i really think anime in japanese is way better like Black Cat, Bleach Mahou Sensei Negima, Naruto Shippuuden, Gantz, and many many others! Japanese all the way man

Well, the first proper anime I watched was Fruits Basket. And I adore it loads and it gets quite serious towards the end. Reminds me of Death Note but more silly and really gives you a good perspective to think on life. Others I love are:
