DmC might get a next gen remake? "DmC: Devil may Cry Ultimate"

Remember, we're all here to learn from each other. There's no reason for a p***ing contest. The people who are reading these things don't win and feel at odds with having to pick a side.

You can ask things like "how'd you come up with that?" or say things like "I believe" or "I still think". Just give your reasons why and leave it at that. Obviously the aggressor doesn't have enough evidence to convince the victim. So be it, no skin off your back.

Right?

Not cool, man! It was just getting good! Gosh, diplomacy is so overrated.

Why can't they just remake the black sheep of a game called DMC2? I mean better graphics, remastered story, enemies, mechanics, voice acting and diffrentiate Dante's and Lucia's scenarios. It's the last to take place in the timeline so it needs to be better.

Agreed. I heard at one point that the game was never actually meant to be a Devil May Cry game and was rushed out at the last minute as the unfinished mess that it was to profit off the success of the first game being received so well. Call of Duty syndrome, as I like to call it. It either needs to be ignored for the rest of the series or be entirely revamped, otherwise it'll drag down the rest of the franchise's potential.

Exactly how I would say it. Hideki Kamiya didn't even get to work in the game like he did in DMC1. The different studio took away the creepy feel from it.

Pretty much, although I am still happy that Itsuno got involved with the series and made Devil May Cry 3 & 4 the way they are. But, the idea of Kamiya returning to the franchise he bred and instilling back the feeling of horror that the first game had, albeit mixed with the crazy kinetic action and visual gravitas of the latter day Devil May Cry games by Hideaki Itsuno would be the recipe for the perfect Devil May Cry game.

The "night time" sequence in Devil May Cry 1 was brilliant. The castle had seemed to change and have a mind of its own. There you noticed the creepy mask in the dark above the Alastor statue and the realization that Mundus was watching you when you first entered the castle because he was the statue. Now imagine the Te-mi-negru with the creepy feeling. That would be amazing.

EDIT: Although I can't imagine DMC4 as creepy since it was always sunny.

If I remember correctly, DMC4 had it slowly turn to night as Nero made his way further away from the city. It's past dusk where he fights Berial, and it's nighttime in the mountains and inside Fortuna Castle, and then the dawn comes as you get closer to the Savior at the Order HQ.

The funny thing is that if you backtrack from some place like Fortuna to the opera house where the game started, it turns back into daytime :p

Even though I'm not really that interested in HD remakes of almost anything I think it might be a nice feature if with this alleged DmC port they add in a Turbo mode.

I just thought DmC did a terrible job with unlockables. Good thing they're including skins in the ultimate edition.

Um. Whatever's happening here... let me just say that NT is not only attending GDC Europe, but also Gamescom. So a little more than two weeks until we finally hear some news. Hopefully from the DmC front, too.

:o Gotta link for that? Nevermind I found it.

However, it says it's for PS3, not PS4. So it's most likely a "game of the year" collection, and I ain't diggin' that cover.

This was the main reason why I was sceptical about this rumor. That and the Russian site deleted it from their website. I'm just getting a little annoyed that everything has been so ridiculously silent regarding Devil May Cry (that includes the old games). All I see is the occasional combo video or a fanart posted on fb/twitter every few weeks. I know I'm being negative here, but it gives me a big 'the franchise is dead' feeling. It's either that or they're planning something big and decide not to let anything leak about it.

I recall Capcom stating that they wouldn't give up on this franchise and would release games with intervals of 3 to 5 years.

Are you talking about that article that was posted in 2012? Somehow, I don't think it's all that relevant anymore. I'm just curious about NT AAA game announcement.

Yeah, it's a PSN only bundle. Been there for a while, not related to this rumor.

Pretty much what @sssensational said, this was well before DmC's launch. (IE: Before **** hit the fan.)
However, they have gone-on recently saying the Series is still in their priority.
