Capcom Complainers

I've beat Bayonetta like ten times through out my life and I couldn't tell you a single thing about the plot or the world really just because I couldn't comprehend anything that was going on aside from the action. XD The point is not whether or nto hes ntitled to his opinion because he isn't entitled to it when talking to the media at all. That's a simple fact when doing publicity is you cannot speak your mind when working with the media. Just like a interviewer for DmC can't say "you know? personally? I think devil may cry is a ****ty franchise. But that is my opinion." Tameem can't say "Personally? I think bayonetta is stupid (paraphrasing)" just because thats how it is.
the story was a parady of the devil may cry series, they took the most inspiration from DMC4 they did basically everything in that game combined it with the plot for DMC when it was still going to be a resident evil 4 and also from DMC4 with the whole statue and merging with people, angels, religious leader, they also made fun of just how over the top it was, hell it even had Enzo in it. it was their way of saying we could have made the same game with the same style but better.

Another thing I can't stand from the complainers is when they act like their opinion is a fact. I know it would be a waste of time complaining about these nostalgiafags but this is getting ridiculous. The current DmC videos are now getting mosly disliked, like 56 likes and 300-something dislikes. Can someone tell me how is this game insulting the fans?

I think the biggest problem people have with the new DmC is that it's seen as a new DMC, not as a new game in a new series. I, too, would like to see Capcom continue with the old DMC series. I would be fine with it if DmC was some sort of spin-off. Sadly, it seems this game will replace the old series. I say sadly, because the original DMC will be forgotten, and people will believe the whole franchise started with DmC: Devil May Cry. I'm also afraid that future games will be inspired by 'western' games only, or better said, I think future games will be inspired by the most recent games, and that includes DmC.

I don't really understand why every game has to be 'westernized' nowadays. I have no problem with Japanese developers and themes - in fact, I usually prefer them over incredibly realistic games, because I feel there should at the very least be some games that aren't realistic at all. I'm not very interested in a Dante who looks like an ordinary guy and gets white hair and a red jacket when in so-called Devil Trigger mode, but to each his own, and I won't deprecate your opinion, but I will say why I disagree with it, of course. That's one of the uses of topics and threads, I guess.

Dude, that's only if fans like yourself let it go that route. Today's future on games relies on the young, those who love and grew up with games: the indie developers. They've been bringing old school stuff mixed with the new and that is just fantastic.

Come on, DMC won't be forgotten. In fact you can sure bet that if someone liked DmC, never played the other games before would go back and buy the collection. It happens! Just like when you read a new story and find out that there are tons of spinoffs with those characters. If they want to know more, they will look for more.

With all the great indie games out there, you can smear that bleak outlook out of your system. We all know that the glory days of most of today's developers have lost their shine and need new blood to revive it all.

Capcom wouldn't let a goldmine of running two congruent series slip past them, like Call of Duty's Infinity Ward and Treyarch sides.

And there's been no definitive word from Capcom that they would abandon the classic series. It's all stupid fan speculation and unfounded rumors getting everyone all riled up, just like when DmC's announcement dropped two years ago. Apparently that's a running theme with this fanbase though, opinions and hearsay being fact, contrary to what is or isn't being said :/

True, but when I look at things like Street Fighter X Tekken, well, that's totally different than the old Street Fighter games. Nowadays, every SF character needs to have a retarded look on his/her face, it seems. I don't really see the need to alter something in such a terrible way. I agree that change is good, but we shouldn't be changing things just because we can - we should be changing things if something's terribly wrong with them.

I don't know... eventually, games like the old DMC series won't even be buyable anymore, and nobody will truly know what they were about. Then we can only go look at any videos that may be left of those games, if there are any.

True, and Capcom did say something like that they 'might continue the old DMC series', but I think that was the plan if DmC failed, and I don't think DmC will fail. They can't keep every game series going, I guess. I mean, it does cost resources and time.

Well, not that I wouldn't like to see another DMC game with the old canon, but it seems pretty clear that going back would take significant resources to create a less powerful story.

For one thing, we can see that the narrative is given a huge boost in DmC, and taking that same attention to detail and complex emotion back into the old story would require an absurd amount of care. There are already a few difficult plot holes in that story, and making one more game just to explain everything doesn't sound like it would be very fun to play. Taking the mystery out of the old Devil May Cry would be worse than leaving it alone.

Also, it seems everyone who was involved with the previous series is pretty happy marching ahead with DmC's take. Coming back from the interesting game mechanics in DmC (Angel & Demon weapons, more involved traversal) would also take considerable effort to make it worth playing.

So the speculation that the old series wouldn't be revisited isn't baseless. I haven't seen too many examples of alternate takes being brought forward simultaneously, and many games don't reach more than 5 games or so in one incarnation. So I think the likelihood that we won't see another Tony Redgrave is definitely higher than otherwise.

Making one more game just to explain everything? Yeah, that would be a bad idea, but I think Nero's story could be fleshed out much more, and I don't consider that a dry explanation, but simply a continuation of the plot. I mean, let's say DMC3 explained what happened to Vergil - it explains DMC1. According to you, DMC3 would be an unwanted game. I myself look forward to seeing what happens to Nero; whether or not he gets a full Devil Trigger, or even has to fight Dante or Mundus or whatever. There's so much more inspiration floating around, so many ideas - creating DmC wasn't really necessary.

I mean, what if people just said they had enough of Tom Clancy's (or whomever's) books and that they should be rebooted? It's absurd, isn't it?

Because sometimes the fans who are defending the game can sometimes be a turnoff because those defending the game can sometimes be worse then those that are attacking it.

I get where you are coming from, but I can't agree with that. You're implying that the haters wouldn't be insulted by this new game if people weren't defending it (some going over the top), which simply isn't the case. I also have yet to see someone defending this game with death threats.

I shake my head at people saying "This game will be awesome and all the haters can suck d*ck!" just as much as people saying "this game is stupid sh*t that no one will play!" It's the extremists, regardless of what end they're on, that I don't care for.

The thing that bugs me the most is when people start speaking for everyone with their "no one wants this, and no one likes it," where I'm compelled to tell them how wrong they are. More than a few times I've seen the authors of those comments remove them because of the backlash they got for making such a bold claim.

I saw something that annoyed me, yesterday. Someone flagged a positive comment, on youtube, as spam. It was the only one I saw on the page. So, it looks like they're trying to silence the people, who like the game, one way or another.

That's just pathetic. Seriously.
