Happy birthday, mate!
Hey, thanks for noticing! :D How swell.
Since you're into this stuff, gotta ask you: what do you think of the level of graphical fidelity achieved by The Witcher 3 and Batman: Arkham Knight?
Both look absolutely beautiful and impressive to me. I could fap in front of them all day I swear to God.
And Batman, I'm so friggin impressed by how damn crisp it looks holy crap!
I've actually been researching this a lot for my own work, and yes, FFXV and the Witcher 3 are very impressive in that respect. The best part is that they're optimizing things in acceptable ways to make sure everything runs well (smoothed alpha-testing, pushing the cut-off distance for foliage out just far enough).
You may be surprised how many games begin adopting these technologies, since it's already pretty feasible for me. However, just like last generation, many games will ignore what they could do since the standards will remain low so long as they don't push them. All you need to do is look at sports games for examples of this.
