Dude...no story is original...im sorry but if u check...99% of video games follow the structer of the inferno...though not all do it as strongly as DMC, i'll agree

Read what I said in my post before this one. I'm only talking about DMC and Bayonetta.

Yeah, I'm trying not to outright say the connection between Bayonetta and Cereza, because there are any number of possibilities on why they have a connection besides "lost daughter" if you have not played the game yet. I'm just trying not to spoil it outright.

I know the whole Bayonetta storyline in the game. If you'd like to know where I observed a good chunk of the meta plot came from, I've already said it; DMC4. If you do know as much of the game's story as you say, you'll see exactly what I mean. Also, Bayonetta is as well based(VERY loosely this time) on the Divine Comedy, Kamiya seems to have a very large fondness for that work. Where do my facts come from? The game itself, and probably in the same way you got yours, so god bless youtube and cinema spoilerific video walkthroughs. DMC took deep roots in the Divine Comedy, Bayonetta actually took storyline cues from DMC itself, when not swiping entire lines. They both are inspired by another work, but Bayonetta's is quite more recent than a centuries old poem.

BTW, Dante was inspired character and looks wise by the lead character of the manga Cobra, Kamiya has commented on this in interviews. Vergil, however, is most looks wise based around Millions Knives of Trigun, a more minor influence in the original DMC, and character wise a much BIGGER influence in DMC3. Pluse, you know, the whole Silver/black paired guns. It wasn't from Hellsing that DMC got it, it was Trigun. Amusingly enough, we also got Nero's actor from Trigon as well.

Back on subject. Bayonetta is nothing original and groundbreaking in terms of story and character, but I do plan to pick the game up as an unoffical sidestory piece of DMC to add to my...now in rebuilding since 1-3 got swiped AGAIN collection, since it's obvious that's how Kamiya views it. It does look fun, and the music in many of the boss fights is BEAUTIFUL.

and again...i rebut as Sparda has....they both follow the structure...when Dante wrote the Comedy, he created a structure that is inevitable

But like you said, DMC is BASED off this structure you claim. Bayonetta wasn't even though it has similarities.

I thought the little girl thought Bayonetta was her mom. (I don't have a clue though as i don't have a full copy of the game)

She did, she called her "Mummy." So its whether they're daughter and mother, or the chick is extremely confused. Also, if they are not mother and daughter, then why is Bayonetta rescuing her?

I really didn't see anything similar between InaYusha and Devil May Cry. White hair are a feature of demons in the Japanese mythology and so is the story of the brothers and the swords.

Of course that's Japanese folklore, and not being less original.

Only Devil May Cry 3, is a full but still loose reference to Dante's Inferno. Most of the stuff thrown there is totally incorrect with the book, which I've read by the way.

As have i....geez Sparda...and u've been arguin with this guy all along? how do u do it....

Well, claiming one game is more original than the other, especially when the creator of Devil May Cry made Bayonetta is like punching yourself to the face.

I know the similarities with it and DMC4 that you claim. For one,Credo and uh Je....yeah. But what I was saying is that Bayonetta isn't original and all that good stuff. My only thing was that Bayonetta wasn't based off of something as DMC was even though they took ideas from all over. You see what I'm trying to say? Because that's really what it comes down to, well in my eyes.

Ya I just got done playing it, The boss fights reminds me of the DMC1 bosses(layers). Which brought back good memories. Yes I will leave it alone now. I just wanted you to understand my point of view because you actually know the game.

Oh, I was talking about DMC3/4 Dante when saying they influenced his character. As you can see the dramatic change in him after DMC1. They wanted him to have an "American" feel to him so they based his character off of American action movie characters.

Do you really want to know? I'll PM you.

It was your choice of words, saying that Bayonetta was more original, which was trying to imply it borrowed much less, when it borrowed HEAVILY from all kinds of sources. THAT was my point. And...yeah...Kamiya made it obvious how much DMC4 he really played, because it was certainly more than half the game. The End Boss is...yeah, I'll stop there. God, I was impressed with the SCALE, but then I went "Wait, I've seen this...god damnit."

Let me get this straight.

You think Bayonetta has more traits of being original even though It has copied ideas, as DR states, from DMC, but Devil May Cry is less original because It was based in literature and folklore?!

Your point of view is officially fuc|<ed up, son.

I'm done with this useless originality discussion.

Okay, Sparda, seriously, we got it cleared up. He just had an awkward choice of words. It happens. Everyone learned something more, and should take something to be learn from this for the future.

God, I don't wann'a seem like I'm back-seat modding here. Admins and mods that see this, my apologies, but really...even I'm getting sick of it. I think me and Zato actually finally saw eye to eye on this on...

I would actually enjoy if you gave the entire story. I don't own a PS3, so Bayonetta isn't available too me:( . So, please PM me.

I don't know about writing the whole story because that would be paragraphs upon paragraphs. But I can direct you to some full game cut scenes and game play for you to get a better understanding if you like?
